- Staff, breakfast, location
- The staff were briiliant. Friendly, helpful and engaging. Ali, Ali, Rukiye, Feride and Fatma are a really great team and were set on making sure we got the best out of our stay. Wide selection of good food for the breakfast buffet, clean, spacious and comfortable rooms, superb and very convenient location with great views from the roof top terrace. The team had lots of great suggestions for places to visit and were very prompt and reliable in making bookings for taxis, boat trips etc.
Cons -
- Everything was fine
- Bathroom door loud, squeaky
- We were told (via WhatsApp (and I did not gave permission to contact me with WhatsApp, theres an option on booking.com for conversations with the customer, they should use this instead of WhatsApp) right before arriving) that a pickup service from the airport would be 60 and a pickup and return price would be 100 - we didnt choose this option and arrived by ourself with the train. Right at the beginning (after arriving and without the pickup service) we were asked if wed like to get the shuttle service to the airport booked or not. We had been unsure about it, but we took the shuttle. The thing is: The shuttle is a regular taxi and it would be 1100 Lira, which is roughly about 31, so we thought thats a good deal. - and its actually a fixed price/special offer with the taxi company, we were told. After weve been at the airport the taxi driver told us it would be roughly about 950 Lira. We gave him 1100, cause we didnt cared much, the rest was a tip, but: hows that even possible? 60 one way, 100 both the return shuttle and than its just the 1100 Lira thinglooks pretty dishonest to me. The other thing is: We had to change rooms, which we didnt even cared much about, but the second room was pretty small, the mattresses are compared to the first one an absolute nightmare (way to soft and to thin) and the hair dryer was smoky and not turning on while holding upside down. I actually got a video of it and we were able to see not only smoke coming out of it but also electrical shocks, the rubber of the dryer literally burnt down - thats super dangerous. Wasnt even able to blow dry my hair for two days. We actually told one guy, he told us hell handle it, but he didnt. The breakfast wasnt even that good. There were no big slices of bread or anything like that, just slices of baguette. Weve been disappointed about it. The nice pictures on booking are just about the premium room which may be better but the rest is super old and outdated.

Really cant understand the comments.First of all: the staff was super friendly, especially the lady at the breakfast and the cleaning lady, but also disappointing in some other ways. The location was good, supermarkets are quite far away.

Best breakfast we have had in our travels. Converted us to Turkish food.Staff were absolutely wonderful ensuring we get the most out of our 5 day stay. Many thank to Rukiye and Ali, Feride and Fatma. Good team that work here. Would stay here again
I stayed at this hotel from May 9th to May 12th as a solo female traveler and had a wonderful experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel right at home. The location is perfect, with easy access to all the main attractions. The accommodations were comfortable and well-maintained as well.
Great location, excellent staff and awesome terrace. The breakfast was great!
Water pressure was not very good
The location is fantastic! 3 minutes away from Hagia Sofia and Topkapi palace. If its your 1st time in Istanbul, highly recommend to stay in this place, because you will save time and money on transportation and will be able to easily explore old city at any time of the day. Also, breakfast was nice, included traditional Turkish dishes, fruit, vegetables, sweets (buffet system). And the terrace, where you take breakfast, has a fascinating view on the Bosporus. Finally, I appreciate the help and hospitality of the hosts, Ali gave us a lot of good recommendations, explained everything about the city centre and must visit places, supported the arrangement of boat tour and hamam.
Room was small and very simple, old-fashioned, good only for sleeping, not comfortable to spend relaxing time. There is no free tea or coffee, only cooler. I was disappointed, that they do not provide toothpaste, toothbrush, shower gel, only shampoo (bad quality). So I would say, that the room has very minimum you need to stay. Mostly you pay for the location, hospitality and terrace.
Rukiye, Ali,Fatma and Feride where helpful and amazing
Really good location.
Room wasnt as nice as pictured on booking.com. I think the staff were trying to be helpful but very pushy when selling tours.
- The staff was very friendly and tried all to make the guests feel "at home", they were very helpful (sometimes almost too much). - The hotel is perfectly situated. - The additionally booked transfer from and to the airport worked perfectly.
- The room was above a passageway and facing a street, which meant that late at night we sometimes had to put up with noise (removal trucks) and people talking and laughing under the window. - Try to "sell" fewer additional offers, as this can come across as pushy. Just mention once that you are happy to help with insider knowledge about the city if it is needed, then people will be happy to approach you if necessary, but have peace of mind if they don't need it. - The door of the bathroom should be fixed and it would be great if it was possible to get a second comforter from the beginning, even if the hotel is fully booked (at least 1 spare comforter in housekeeping...). But the stuff did all to help us with other and good ideas!
Excellent location, quiet, the room was big enough to fit the 4 of us (2 adults 2 kids), clean and with a superb rooftop terrace. Roukiyeh and the two boys were extremely helpful and nice, gave us good advice to make sure we understand a bit part of the local specificity. I totally recommend Sebnem Hotel and will stay there again when we return to Istanbul.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and great location. Serhat was the star for sure. He can help you with recommendations for local places to visit/eat. He's very friendly and if you have any questions he's always more than willing to help you. Showed me great places to get souvenirs for friends back home. He went above and beyond on my date of depart. The historic area around the hotel was completely shut down due to national workers day. Serhat walked with me an hour to get to my taxi and made sure I made it on time. I'm forever grateful. Truely an amazing resource.
Very Nice hotel with an amazing view. The location was ideal to discover istanbul by foot. People are really friendly and available at anytime. I really recommend this place
The staff was very welcoming and helpful. They gave us many tips about the city, the transport, the food and many other things. The room was very cleaned and cozy. The breakfast on the terrace is very nice thanks to the amazing view on the Bosphorus.
The staff is excellent. The location is beyond great - around the corner from the Four Seasons. Very walkable.
Great location and helpful friendly staff. Very walkable area. Room comfortable. Staff especially helpful to plan your trip and get around town. taxi service to airport is easy but quite expensive at 100 euro round trip.
Room a bit small... No where easy to put suitcase- closet to narrow to put whole suitcase in without leaving door open.
We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights in April 2024. My impressions are entirely positive. Staff: The team was incredibly responsive and helpful. They provided detailed information about the city and its attractions, and even showed everything on the map. We arrived late in the evening, and the staff warmly welcomed us, giving us a tour of the hotel. Our luggage got slightly misplaced during the journey, but the staff took it upon themselves to contact the airport and help locate it. Special thanks to Ali and Alex! Location: The hotel is situated right in the heart of the old city, just a 5-minute walk from Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, surrounded by numerous restaurants and cafes. Breakfast and Terrace: The open terrace on the top floor serves as the breakfast venue, offering a splendid view of the Bosphorus and delicious Turkish breakfast options. Additionally, there is a covered section on the terrace, providing shelter in case of inclement weather or intense sunlight. The staff prepares various dishes with care, introducing something new every day, and baking excellent pastries. Fresh fruits are always available. Room: The room was spacious, more than sufficient for two people. Upon check-in, we were shown two available rooms, and we opted for the one on the second floor. Housekeeping was provided daily.
The hotel is small, but for us, it was more of an advantage than a drawback.
Property was in a very good location; terrace breakfast with a great view very good vale; staff very helpful with request and assistance with general enquiries. I would definitely return and recommend.
Loved the spot right where you want to be! Welcoming and friendly staff, they gave us great recommendations - the hammam they suggested was absolutely amazing! Delicious breakfast with Turkish specialties served on the terrace. Clean and comfortable room. Highly recommended!
