No hot water on arrival. Initially told a plumber would come in the morning. Then told “later that day.” At night, told “tomorrow.” Only after requesting a refund did hot water return that same night — very frustrating experience.Entryway has about 7 high steps, which can be difficult with luggage or mobility issues. The elevator is extremely small — fits a maximum of 2 people tightly. The lobby doubles as the breakfast area, with no usual sitting arrangements.Room was very cramped: beds wall to wall, very tight toilet area.Toilet sliding door had no handle or lock.Mattress was filthy — had visible blood stains.Dusty, loose headboard shelf (comodó) fell over — poorly secured.Breakfast was minimal, and there was limited space in the shared reception/dining area.Low-quality toiletries (budget shampoo and soap).Surrounding area felt inappropriate for families at night with visible prostitutes and many nearby off-licence alcohol shops.
I've stayed st from the time I checked in until the time I checked out the service was absolutely amazing. Every employee wad welcoming, cheerful, and helpful I want to specifically thank to Mohamud you are the best
I really liked this hotel. The staff are friendly and kind. They clean the room every day even if you don't ask. It's a good hotel for those looking for something affordable.
I booked a room for 3 adults. The staffs were very friendly, helpful & welcoming. The room was spacious with modern setting. The breakfast was nice.
I stayed at this hotel with my grandson for 10 days. Everything suited us, the cleaning was excellent, thank you very much to the cleaning lady, Firoza is just a wonderful woman, she helped us with everything: she replaced the remote control for the TV and even offered us a more comfortable room. The food is monotonous, but everything is always fresh. Thank you to all the staff. Everything is near the hotel: both the metro and shops, very comfortable.
This hotel is definitely a must-stay! The location is perfect, with everything you need close by, and it’s nice and peaceful. The breakfast is delicious, with a wide variety of options that cater to everyone. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready to assist you. The owner, Abdelkarim, is a kind-hearted man who creates a personal and warm atmosphere in the hotel. Additionally, the hotel is always clean and well-maintained. Overall, a fantastic experience! I’ll definitely be back! Greetings from Youssef of the Netherlands!
Place close to metro station.
The air conditioning only works if the window is open otherwise the room will be cold... so there will be noise at night due to shouting in the street. The air conditioning is turned off around dawn automatically from the system connected to the reception. The bathroom smells bad sometimes... but with the windows open the smell is light.
Bad
My son had a severe allergic reaction and rash due to bed bugs so i had to leave earlier than my usual scheduled day
The breakfast were not good
The bathroom and room was very small and the staff weren't friendly. air-conditioning under their control in the middle of night while you slerp you have to wake up because of hot temperature inside the room.
Avoid this hotel
Our group of 12 people stayed at Sinem Hotel and Old City from August 7 to August 14, 2024, and unfortunately, our experience was unsatisfactory. To begin with, the hotel only provides one iron for all guests, which meant we had to wait a long time to receive it. When we finally got the iron, it was broken and malfunctioning, which left a mark on our bedding. We were then charged 45 dollars for this small stain, which felt extremely unfair given the circumstances. We rented 6 rooms, on different floors. Five out of the six rooms had non-functioning shower heads, so impossible to take a shower in five of the rooms that we had and despite raising this issue with the staff, no one took the initiative to fix it. It seems this has been a recurring problem, as indicated by previous reviews. The air conditioning was also problematic. It didn't work in 4 out of the 6 rooms. In the two rooms where it did work, we were unable to control the temperature ourselves as it was managed remotely from the reception. On several occasions, the air conditioning was turned off without our consent, which led to extremely uncomfortable conditions and caused us to wake up multiple times during the night due to the heat. One night, after requesting a cooler room before bed, we woke up to find the air conditioning completely turned off. Despite calling the reception for help, no one responded. The toilet doors in some rooms were either missing or dysfunctional. Two of the rooms had no door at all, which was highly inconvenient as they were shared by 2-3 people. In rooms with doors, they were partially transparent and lacked proper locking mechanisms, only having sliding doors that did not fully cover the opening.Additionally, the lighting in the rooms was very dim, making them feel gloomy in the evenings.Lastly, the hotel staff refused to provide new, clean glasses. We were expected to use the same glass throughout our stay without any opportunity to clean it ourselves.

People there are helpful.
Breakfast consists of "make your own sandwich" sets and tea or coffee.
That was a very cozy small apartment. 4th floor, but there's a small elevator. Good breakfast included
There was very hot inside the hotel. And it took time to wait till our AC does it's job. And after we leave our apartment AC automatically shuts down.
The room was very clean and large. Special thanks to Fairouz who was used to cleaning the room and cooking everyday. The staff was very nice especially Mokhtar who was trying to help us all the time. The location is great and very easy to get to different transportation.
The whole staff was amazing except for someone called Abdel Karim who did not let me heat my food in the kitchen at night and was not speaking English at all. Also the breakfast was the same everyday.
room was clean and tidy, shower and air con both worked fine
the area it’s in is pretty rough looking
great location and the most wonderful staff. Every one was so helpful and supportive. Sister Firuza, went out of her way to help us with everything, finding best cargo available in the city, affordable restaurants and just generally make our stay in Istanbul more comfortable with her exceptional service and relation.
All was excellent
