Blue House Hotel Old City - Sultanahmet

The nightly light show at the Blue Mosque from the rooftop bar. This is a beautiful old "boutique" hotel, steps from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia and walking distance to most other sights in old town Istanbul. The staff was accommodating. Loved it

Because of its proximity to the Mosque, the broadcast "call to prayer" can be heard 5 times a day. With over 2500 mosques in Istanbul, it's difficult to avoid and we saw it as experiencing the culture but visitors should be aware of the interruption.

A wonderful hotel with a distinctive view, excellent service, and a good breakfast.My stay at this hotel was calm and comfortable. I thank the staff for their efforts and thank the owner, Mr. Yassar, for his kind and courteous treatment. I highly recommend it.

Location! All major attractions are within walking distance literally. Even the airport bus service is a block away.Yet, it is situated in a neighborhood with lots of local colors (and cats).Breakfast offered plenty of choices.

Great location—right in the heart of the historic Sultanahmet district. The breakfast was decent and met expectations.

It was a mixed experience. Some staff members were extremely helpful, while others came across as inexperienced and at times somewhat rude. The inexperienced staff did not seem to understand the fundamentals of customer service.I visited in the fall, and evening temperatures dropped noticeably, yet the heating was not turned on. When I asked the front desk why, I was told it “wasn’t cold enough,” which was not acceptable given the circumstances.The rooftop restaurant was also not operating as advertised. It was open only for guests to bring their own food or drinks, which was never mentioned on their website at the time of booking.One evening, I attempted to dine at the on-site restaurant but received no service. When I spoke with a staff member, I was told they were “too busy,” leaving me no choice but to find another place to eat.Overall, the property needs to be more transparent about what amenities are available and should be more selective in hiring and training staff.

Location. Staff was very friendly. Bed was great! Got good sleep. Bathroom was too small. Room was a bit tight with too many beds. Breakfast was good but wish there was some variety.

Bathroom too tight. Staff missed a cleaning day. Either guests or staff speaking loudly around 5 am and waking us up.

We liked this property very much as first time travellers to Istanbul. It is right in the middle of all the tourist attractions and you can easily pop in and out. The front office staff and ground floor restaurant staff were always nice, courteous, and understanding. They offered us tea as we were too early for the check in time and helped us with arranging breakfast. We will definitely stay with them next time as well. Their breakfast was brilliant and we enjoyed it very much.

They have a terrace restaurant, and the staff there was a bit indifferent once we went there for the view and to enjoy some hot beverages. We initially asked him whether they serve tea, and he said yes. When we mentioned to him that we are staying in the property and would like to have tea, he mentioned only beer is available. I understand this if the restaurant is busy but there were many open spaces and we were ready to pay for the tea. Maybe they serve tea for free and were not ready to serve us for free. In the room description it is written, Hagya Sophia view, but in reality it is Blue Mosque view. Both are wonderful architecturally so no complaints.The shower is showing its age and is a bit difficult to get the right temperature, but once you get the hang of it, it's fine.

The location was great. Also the views from the terrace were breathtaking. The crew was kind and friendly they upgraded one of our booked rooms which was much needed for my elderly mom and my disabled sister after the hardship we went through at the istanbul airport due to lack of wheelchair assistance. The hotel was like the light after the dark tunnel. Big thanks to the hotel team .

The noise at night was loud and we could hear people talking and walking all night.it was hard to get comfortable deep sleep.

I was asking to arrange for decoration. They did not even arrange anything on this . They are simply money minded Once you booked the hotel They will not help you at any case Always money try to get commission from you

Location is ideal for walking to everything you need to see. Hotel was comfortable. Rooms are quaint and reflect the vibe and history of the city. It has a cafe, bar, and a breakfast buffet each morning. Best of all, the Blue House Rooftop Restaurant, with views of the Blue Mosque and surrounding area. The staff is very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed our stay in Istanbul.

We just had a little trouble with our late, late airport pickup. But the hotel resolved the problem to our satisfaction.

Building is old and small space. No shampoo in the shower. No power to charge phones in room.

The roof top view is amazing ? cannot miss it if you visit Istanbul! I had a room looking over the mosque and it was absolutely beautiful! Clean and well looked after hotel. Located perfectly for the main attractions of the city. Friendly and helpful staff, always looking after their guests! They make you feel like home ☺️

The location is perfect. The staff in the reception and in the breakfast time were very friendly. I feel very good in this place.

I would suggest more variety in the breakfast and the opportunity to have the breakfast in the rooftop to enjoy the view.

I can only give all the praise for the Hotel and the employees. The hotel is in a great location where everything is available to you. From the moment we arrived, the employees welcomed us very warmly and helped us with our luggage. They were happy to help us with any information we needed. The rooms are tidy and are cleaned every morning. I even received a gift for my birthday that was waiting for me in the room to my wonderful surprise. My rating is 10. The location was perfect, the staff was quite helpful and polite, Yasar even helped us with shopping tips and getting discounts from shops, and booking our cab on less rate. The hotel even upgraded our room for free and the view from the room was beautiful, with the blue mosque on one side and the water on the other. The Breakfast had all the main Turkish breakfast dishes.

My friend and I were both very satisfied with this hotel, great location, cleanliness, staff. Also good price for a hotel in the center with a breakfast included.

This hotel is definitely one of the best choice to those tourists who want to discover old spots in Istanbul. location is amazing and quality of service as well . Yasar was so helpful and cooperative , he made our stay easy and enjoyable and for sure other staffs were all nice big thanks also to Meyrem and Orhan .

The location is amazing.I do not think you can find a better location compared to the cost so it is very value for money. The view from my room was amazing as well (the Blue Mosque was so near and visible, even from the second floor).The staff were really friendly and helpful. I left my suitcase there when I checked out for a couple of hours and also, the receptionist (sorry I forgot your name) gave me a souvenir as a gift as well.Breakfast was included and it was good. Just go a bit early.The only thing I would improve is that I was there for two nights and no room service/cleaning went into the room. I understand that the stay was just two days and I wasn’t expecting to change the sheets etc, but just to empty the trash bins and make sure everything was ok.The rooftop was closed when I visited (end of march). Overall, great hotel if you want to be near all the popular places.
