The best part was leaving

Uninhabitable, unsafe, and completely misrepresented—do not stay here.The room smelled overwhelmingly of raw sewage and was completely uninhabitable. After staff poured chemicals down the drain, we developed headaches and nausea, and my asthma was triggered. The bathroom was unusable, and a staff member entered our room without knocking. We left within two hours and booked another hotel. Despite contacting Booking.com and the property with photo evidence, we received no support or refund. This was a serious health and safety issue, not just a bad stay.

Great location near the Galata tower with lots of cute artistic shops around, friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast with lots of fresh options, regular cleaning service.

The hotel was difficult to find if traveling by metro, so I would recommend taking a taxi or a shuttle from the airport. The spiral staircase is a little challenging to climb for older individuals . TV channels are very limited.

I loved staying at Meroddi Galata Mansion. I booked for a few nights at first and ended up extending my stay almost for my whole trip in Istanbul. First, the location is amazing, very close to Galata Tower and all the shops and cafes around it but still in a very quiet and friendly street where the heavy buzz doesn't reach. It had an amazing buffet breakfast that was included with my stay, that allowed me to eat different things each morning. And the best part, the hotel has a cafe/ restaurant at the street level with small tables facing the street where you can sit, eat, have a drink, read, write or just see the people passing by. It was a very friendly and calm spot in a fast and chaotic city. I would definitely stay here again.

The free wifi didn't reach all the spots of the room very well. The room was kind small, it was fine for me traveling by myself but probably a little uncomfortable for two people as long as I stayed.

Everything was great. Clean rooms, excellent breakfast with nice outdoor view for galata streets, nice staff. Special thanks to Jila, she was really nice and helpful and she was always there to make sure everything is good.

The staff truly went above and beyond! They were super welcoming, friendly, and awesome to chat with. From check-in to check-out, they ensured we had everything we needed and were always helpful and responsive. The breakfast was also a highlight - delicious and impressive. Overall, our stay was made special by the fantastic service and attention to detail. Special thanks to Bahar , Samaneh and the cool manager who was generous enough to serve us a free complimentary Buomonti local beer which I will never forget its taste ever.

Our room was a bit of a mixed bag. Due to my partner's medical condition, we requested a lower floor room and were happy with the accommodation. However, if that hadn't been the case, I would have liked a slightly larger and brighter room. The lighting could be improved, particularly over the bed where the ceiling light was a bit lacking. Having only one bedside drawer meant one of us had to get creative with storage. Adding more lighting, especially above the bed, would make a big difference. With a bit of tweaking, the room could really shine.

Its so quiet at night.

The fact that the bathroom is really small, and if you turn off your AC, the room becomes 2 meters away from hell fire. Really really hot.

We got a room on the last floor. It was like a mezzanine and too hot. The room was small. The bed was small as well. AC did not work the first night so it was like an oven. The next day they fixed it. Too bad they have these rooms for the same price as the other more comfortable rooms.The room did not even have a mirror. There was only a mirror in the bathroom.

Our booking was for Meroddi Galata Mansion, but upon arrival, we were transferred to Meroddi Bagdatliyan. But we couldn't be more pleased with this hotel! The room we were given was outstanding! And we loved everything about the Bagdatliyan hotel! From its location at the foot of Galata Tower to the elegantly decorated interiors! The staff was adorable and so professional! Special thumbs up to Musab who welcomed us and to everyone who took great care of us. Thank you for this memorable stay!

Good locationIt was very clean

Tiny room - if you’re 6’ or taller you will struggle to stand upright.Very hot in the room - aircon doesn’t work adequately at all. If you go in summer, good luck.Fridge doesn’t work at all.Weird smell from toilet and basin on some mornings. There was no water pressure in the shower some mornings.The building is quite old and noisy. The listing claimed the rooms are soundproof but they definitely aren’t. You will hear everyone coming and going until about 12am.The reception is very bad. They claim to be 24/7 but they are rarely available. When I arrived to check-in I had to wait for 30 minutes for someone to show up. If you need to contact reception be prepared to be ignored. Don’t even think about making use of the room service they offer.I left a day early and opted for a hotel on my last night instead.

Buffet breakfast. It could have been better. Toaster and sliced bread would have helped. However, this may only be my preference. Hotel rooms are small. As long as you do expect this! Everything else is good.

Amazing location, cute little street with a parisian vibe. Breakfast is varied and of high quality. The cafe under the hotel is lovely.

Our room was quite small and dark. And our bed was small too, that was uncomfortable to sleep on for two people.

In principle, everything worked out fine. We have stayed with MERODDI GALATA MANSION before and would have loved to stay there again and so we booked it. The reception and small cafe at the entrance were our favourite part and so we had booked the hotel again.HOWEVER, WHEN WE ARRIVED AT THE HOTEL IN THE EVENING, THEY INFORMED US THAT, OUR HOTEL IS SOMEWHERE ELSE, AND THEY PUT US INTO "MERODDI LA PORTA".So, this review is for MERODDI LA PORTA.The breakfast is also outstanding, the staff at the breakfast is super nice and always smiling. The breakfast buffet was the best part of our stay.The rooms were equipped with a heater and an air conditioner. It was a pleasant stay, no inconveniences. There was a window in the room so you could aerate the room from time to time. It was overall a nice experience in the room.

We really expected to stay in MERODDI GALATA MANSION. As we had stayed there before and we were looking forward to spending the evenings in the cafe Molto bene downstairs and looking at the Galata tower from the street.This experience was in a way robbed from us :(.The hotel MERODDI LA PORTA, where they put us, is also walking distance from Galata tower but the street was not the same as what we expected. It was just like any other street without cafes and not very lively but rather dark and dirty in the evening.So that was a disappointment for us. We still would stay with MERODDI GALATA MANSION in future, if they don't change our hotels without informing us in advance.

We were at Meroddi Galata Mansion in 2024 and now 20-23 February 2025. The location is perfect, Galata Tower, Taksim, İstiklal street, lovely cafes are near. The breakfast is my favorite option and I can say that it was delicious!

Shopping district: brand and craft Clothes, and Turkish meals, Hafiz Mustafa's sweets and coffee/tea.

I had a very good experience as my first time in istanbul.Very good location next to galata tower and the famous Istiklal and the metro station.the room was clean and has everything we need The cleaning service was there for us .the staff was very kind and professional i want to thanks Zohra for his help and kindness and the guy in the night shift was kind and professional

This hotel is in an excellent location, just a 2 minute walk from Galata Tower and a 5 minute walk from Istiklal Street. It’s also very convenient, with easy access to the metro and tram stations. The rooms were clean, cozy, and well-equipped, with efficient heating and even a hair dryer. We were impressed by the daily bottle of water and the room's overall cleanliness (towels were changed every day). The breakfast exceeded our expectations, offering a wide variety of both sweet and savory options. We booked the package with breakfast, but there's also an option for lunch and dinner via room service at an extra charge. On our last day, they even provided a lunch box since we had an early flight and couldn’t have breakfast. The hotel also offers additional services like airport transfers and a Hamam experience at extra cost. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always willing to assist with any request. A special thanks to Bedirhan for his help with check-in and recommending places to visit, to Zehra for booking our departure transfer smoothly, and to Ufuk for his friendly assistance with check-out.We can’t recommend this place enough—it’s worth every penny!

The rooms were not very soundproof. However, this did not cause any problem during our stay. There was no lift which makes it harder to carry luggage. Stairs have no handrail.

- location is great: very quiet street, 1 min walk from Istiklal and subway station- cosy room under the roof- very big bathroom- nice restraraunt downstairs with discounts for hotel visitors- local hotel cat :-)- helpful English-speaking staff - very good breakfast with lots of interesting dishes and something new everyday

- there is no elevator, so it could be hard to carry suitcases- the hotel is located downhill, so to get to Istiklal street or Sisane metro you need to do a bit of a climb

The location was great, a 3 minute walk to Galata tower. Very nice neighborhood. There is a metro station close to the hotel. The room was very clean and cozy. Nice hot water all any time. The staff was polite and helpful. Breakfast is served on the ground floor of the hotel which operates as a cafe restaurant to the public. It was like a cute traditional French cafe. You could have your breakfast and look the neighborhood outside the window

No elevator

Great location in a nice street, few steps away from Galata Tower. Breakfast was very good with a variety of food. The staff was friendly. I got a free room upgrad when I arrived.

The room is quite small, I was traveling alone, but I think with a big suitecase or two person it could be a bit small. It would be good to have some hooks near the door to hang your coat. The shower is also very small.
