The location was good and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The bathroom was clean.

Rooms are very small and beds sit low to the ground. I couldn't figure the TV out.

They didn’t give me the code to the wifi upon check in, when I called the front desk nobody answered and I had to go down there to speak to someone, the bathroom was showing real wear in the shower seal and other parts - in need of a tune up!

The location is very central. There are a lot of restaurants and cafés around.The stuff was extremely friendly, always helping and taking care of the guest.

The area is very loud—like, really loud. I live in a city, but Istanbul is another category. My room was facing a courtyard and still I couldn't open the windows. I also had no view and the room was very dark. Upstairs was a restaurant that I could hear until late.The room needed some maintenance and a deep clean. Neither the small stereo nor the Nespresso machine were working. The hotel gym also needed maintenance and some equipment (very typical for a hotel gym).When leaving the room and taking the card out, the fridge also turned off. My food went off—something maybe to consider.

The air con wasn't working properly, and the shower overflowed with water. The room wasn't as spacious as other accommodation we have paid for on this trip.

The property is dated and could use some upgrades. The bathroom is especially our old rusted and show signs of mold. They included breakfast in the hotel next-door is practical, but mediocre at best.

Location: close to tram stop and to various nice coffee shops. Also walking distance to the Galliata Bridge.

A shame that the hotel restaurant was unavailable.

Bed was comfy, with an excellent location. Turkish breakfast next door, great quality and lovely view. Reception staff friendly but had to ask for WiFi code and breakfast times, not forthcoming. Good towels and bedlinen. Liked the pillows. The smell of the incense ir diffuser was delightful.

Clean but looking closely not *that* clean. Stray hairs, etc. The room was cold, and the aircon/heater was poor. Noise from people leaving restaurant on roof intrusive at 2am. Reception undergoing building work, no windows, everything covered in dust sheets.

Great location, great interior design. Great rooms, we had all we needed although our (number 24) was a little dark but that's not important and there's no space to put your clothes. There are some hangers and one shelf but it would never be enough for 2. We kept ours in our luggages. But it's fine. It's just the preferences. We enjoyed our breakfast on the rooftop of the nearby hotel. Having breakfast with a view overlooking the Bosporus was lovely ! Overall great experience!

Good hotel for a quick stopover in Istanbul. Very good location next to the sea promenade and Museum of modern art. Great view from breakfast restaurant next door.

It was a little cold to sleep with one blanket. Mulla starts to sing to 7-00 am.

The location was very good. Walking distance to karakoy, Galata tower and Galata port.The breakfast is served at sister hotel not on premises.

The lobby felt as if it was neglected, with chairs on top of tables. Mood is urban and young but needs a lot more attention to details and a more homey feel.

The hotel has a cozy atmosphere, comfortable rooms, and a prime central location that makes everything accessible. The accommodations were excellent, and the team went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. We especially appreciated the complimentary breakfast at Root Hotel, their partner establishment, which was a lovely touch. Sub Karakoy is a cool, arty, boutique hotel located in the best area to stay in Istanbul. Upon arrival and check out I was helped by Arda. He was unbelievable helpful and kind. I had to check out 8 hours before leaving for the airport. He kept an eye on my bag and assured me it would be safe. The staff was friendly and outgoing. I will definitely return to this hotel my next time in Istanbul.

It has nice design and that’s it! Very impractical the iron doors are so annoying at night. No sound proofing throughout the hotel, if someone pees in the next room you hear it. It was a very uncomfortable experience

The hotel has no sense of comfort! It is designed for photos only but not for sleeping. I literally spent the night crying because of the noise. The pillows are very uncomfortable and low quality. The street smells like fish. In the room at night you can hear Baggages being strolled, toilets flushed, people talking! Very impractical the iron doors are so annoying at night. No sound proofing throughout the hotel, if someone pees in the next room you hear it. It was a very uncomfortable experience

Me and my friend's room was comfortable, kept very clean and also very nicely decorated. Karakoy area is very close to the center and offers many good options for food and drink. People at the reception were very polite and helpful with everything.

Breakfast could be a bit improved as it doesn't offer many options.

The staff was very friendly. Special mention to Omar for late checkout!

It was one of the best hotels I have stayed in and it was perfect in terms of staff and history of the rooms. The service and cleanliness were perfect and it had a very central location. I highly recommend it.
