This is undoubtedly a budget hotel for budget travellers. For those used to this sort of accommodation it will not phase you one bit and is hardly the height of luxury but also isn’t the hole in the ground others make it out to be in the reviews. Situated in the Old Town, most of the hotels on this road (with the exception of the Radisson) seem to suffer from poor reviews but it’s an old, humid city and this is a particularly old part of it. They will clean your room if you leave your key and ask them to do so when you go out for the day. They forgot to mention this when we arrived but it is a service they offer. The bedding was clean but did have some light stains so if you’re looking for luxury or comfort, this ‘aint it.The staff were incredibly friendly. We had no hot water the first night and when we raised this issue, they did sort the problem out asap. You can come and go as you please and it’s located just a few minutes walk from both the Grand Bazar in one direction, and the waterfront the other, and is cheaper than the majority of hostels in the city. It’s not great but it’s also not an absolute horror show.

There are loose wires where light switches or plugs have been moved but these have been plastered back into the walls and aren’t live so don’t seem a problem. The plumbing has a strong smell of smoke coming from it but many areas of the city seem to have this problem so it’s not exclusive to the hotel. There did appear to be roaches in the bathroom if you got up late at night but the place wasn’t swarming with them.

- pleasant staff- 15-minute walk to a metro station- close to the tram - right next to a good cafe, canteen, small store, juice store

- mold in the bathroom- no hooks in the bathroom or the room- tiny space, beds need to be rearranged (literately, make them face the window and you'll have more space)- not soundproof, very noisy when you have neighbors- closet needs to be moved to the entrance door, not window (you have to squeeze thought the badly arranged beds there)- toilet barely flushes - pillows are very hard, our ears hurt instantly- not enough light in the room for people with bad eyesight

The staff was very friendly and helpful. It is very close to the old town.

The street around the place are very busy during the day. The room I stayed need a lot of small fixes and improvements.

It was the worst experience. Such kind of hotels must not be remain on market. Dirty, old and open electric dangerous for human life

5ÖmerPosted on: 4-8-2025

It was one of the cheapest rooms in Istanbul. I enjoyed friendliness of the receptionist. He offered me tea and shared his nargile while we sat infront of the entrance. Although it is the cheapest place, I think that photos are a little misleading and I personally would not book if I knew it beforehand.

The hotel is very old and not as seem on the photos. The room needs painting and better cleaning. There were dust everywhere. The TV in the first room was not working properly. There were incredible amount of cigarette smell coming from bathroom ventilation. I could not sleep from the smell till 6 a.m. in the morning and shared my frustration with one of the receptionist but he seemed very uninterested and didn't offer a solution.

Horrible. Not recommended

The bathroom looked like it had never been cleaned, with a lot of moisture and mold. The bedding was full of hair. It was very noisy. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!

We came on holiday with our group of friends, we made a reservation at one of the most comfortable and safe hotels, the owners were helpful and friendly, we were very pleased, thank you for everything.

The staff were fantastic and so helpful. The room was clean. The sheets and towel was clean. The location is good. The only sad thing is that cigarettes smoke had entered my room all day and all night, because the guests were smoking in the adjacent hotel rooms and the cigarettes smoke travelled thru the walls and roof, and made my room smell so badly, and I could not sleep at all. I would wake up feeling weak with a sore dry throat, because of it. I hope the management places “strictly no - smoking signs” on all hotel doors, because it was really bad.

Awful

Staff not welcoming, no one to check us in for 10 minutes. Room was cold. Very dirty room, you can see that the bed sheets hadn’t been washed. Live wires hanging in bathroom. Dirt in the shower.

Excellent location for this simple, clean place, right in the heart of the historical quarter in Istanbul. Don't confuse old with dirty because it's just not true. Everything is in good functioning condition. It was also quite warm inside, so fear not the winter conditions either. Bathroom was spacey and the shower, super hot. Staff was kind and let me check in before the check in time. Hope to find a room here the next time I am in Istanbul

Walls are a bit thin

We arrived early before check-in, they helped us check in early. After checking in, we went to our room and rested, then we walked around the historical places and had a nice trip.

The location is in the middle of the hotels area. The lower part is historical fish restaurants, it is fun and safe, you can sit until late at night and have fun and food with your family. We had a lot of fun at the restaurant that the hotel recommended to us. At the top, we visited the historical covered market by walking, visited the Sultan Ahmet Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and from there we visited Eminon. We took a Bosphorus tour by ferry
