The Meretto Hotel Istanbul Old City

Check in was at 4AM and check out at 4AM. What I knew in all hotels I stay befor check in after 11:00 am and check out is 11:00 am next day that is on night. So I didn't use this reservation.it was just a waste of money. really disappointed.

I wish the check in time was shown At booking process so I did not waste my money and Tim.

Everything was great, staff was super helpful, always asking if everything's all right and also helping with any issue. Great breakfast every morning. They also have a free pool access as a gift for my birthday. Definitely will come back.

I chose this hotel because it is not buried in heavy tourist traffic, but still close enough to walk to the metro and get around the city easily, and it ended up being exactly what I was hoping for. The decor feels authentic to the neighborhood rather than generic or overly modern, which I personally appreciated. What really sets the hotel apart, though, is the staff: Abdul, one of the managers, is incredibly hands-on and consistently present, and Mehmet went well beyond expectations helping with food orders, directions, and everyday questions. The small thoughtful touches, like always having water available and offering hot tea in the lobby, also made the stay feel welcoming.

The rooms are on the smaller side, which seems fairly standard for Istanbul, but travelers expecting more space might notice it. This is also not the right hotel if you are looking for a sleek, newly remodeled, ultra-modern aesthetic. I had a couple of very minor housekeeping issues (such as some items in the room needing a bit more attention), but nothing that impacted the overall comfort of my stay.

So we stayed with my family there: for a weeks (parents) and for 9 days (me). 2 rooms.LOCATION/ROOMS: location was comfortable and safe I would say. Basic supermarket (Jet) is close. Cleaning of the rooms were apropriate. Also in general quite (but ofc it's up to tourists, maybe we were lucky).TRANSPORTATION: the Hotel is really close (~8 mins walk) from Aksaray, so it's really comfortable to take HVL-1 to get to the airport and back. T1 tram's stop is right under the Hotel, very comfortable. The metro stops are also close, but you can reach Grand bazar, Sultanahmet and Ayasofiya mosques by foot (if you can ofc :) )Besides that once we asked for transfer (it was for 4am) and it was a good expirience. Road to IST at night took about 40 mins, we departured in time, payment in hotel by cash prior departure, the car was kinda minivan for 6 people (comfortable) and they also offered sandwiches to take with us (as it was early morning).FOOD: Breakfast was also good. As people say not really much changes from day to day (important for a long stay), but everything prepared (looks same as on pictures) was good (special thanks to amazing chocolate brownie and acma).Also there are many places to eat outside in a walking distance (we just googled the rationg prior visiting, and it was corresponding with reviews).STAFF: The staff was super friendly. For any questions they would help andit really feels like they'relooking t help you. They speak both Englsh and Russian (at last one guy at reception could speak Russian very good, butin the other shift there were people who culd t least undestand Russian, itwas usefull for my parents, that don't speak English).

1. Room's size. We had 2 rooms. One of them was with the windows on the street (it was a bit noisy with open window) the other one was on the oter side with window on the closed small nook. I also think that the second room was a bit smaller then the first one (not enouth space to open luggage I would say) and not that much space to storage.2. Coffee. Sorry, just would kindly recommend to change a coffee machine :)

The location of the hotel is great (Hagia Sophia is a 30 min walk & the tram and many other attractions are very close), the room was clean, the beds were very comfortable, and the kind staff is exceptional. Our flight was delayed a lot, but they were waiting for us with a smile in the middle of the night. The breakfasts were also amazing and we got water every day in our room fridge.Overall, Meretto Hotel is a great value for the price and I would be happy to stay here again.

Close to airport bus stop and tram station.Walkable to grand bazaar and blue mosque.

The room was spacious with a balcony. The location is great if you need to reach various public transportation options. The breakfasts were ok.

The air conditioning did not work properly and it was too hot and stuffy.
