The location is excellent and has access to all transportations and restaurants are around everywhere . Mr. Furat is so helpful and problem resolvent, my room wasn't ready, so he decided to upgrade my room to a room with Bosporus view. The hotel isn't 4 stars or even 3 stars as per the European standard, but for the value of money it's worth. Housekeeping is performed everyday.

The doors of rooms better to be upgraded to new and modern

The luxurious amenities, exemplary services, and prime location are what grabbed our attention to the hotel. We loved everything!; I highly recommend Ethnica old city for its cozy rooms, friendly staff, serene atmosphere and customer service. A big thumbs up! Mr firat was the best he was ready for help Anytime if we had any questions ?

Only location and price and Bosporus view

All another. We check in in the evening in family suite. In them 1 room from 2 was broken. The floor in bathroom was very wet, because toilet was broken. So the hotel gave us a 1 new room for 3 of us (our group was 5). In new room light was broken, tv was broken, bathroom was broken. Awful! Breakfast was poor.

It is a very nice hotel, its location is very good, it has a view of the sea and Galata Tower. The breakfast was good. thanks to the staff.

Location was excellent

The beds were like concrete the shower was broken and the fridge door fell off so was unusable. The room had cups and tea bags but no jug to boil water

For the same price you will find better rooms nearby! On the 1st floor there is a restaurant that has no exhaust hood and the smell of smoke from the grill will be in your room every day. The rooms and linen are very old and dirty. The room is cleaned only once before your arrival. It is not worth staying in it even for 1 day. Booking treacherously offered it as the best option and the reviews were inflated!

The location was very good. It was close to most of the landmarks we wanted to visit and the public transportation was very convenient (tram, metro stration, ferries in a walkable distance).

The room and bathroom were not clean and there were a bad odor especially in the bathroom. The arrival time was 14:00 p.m. and although we arrived at the hotel at 15:00 p.m. they told us that the room wasn't available yet, as the previous guests refused to leave the room on time. When we finally got our room the bedsheets were not changed. In the bathroom sink the drain was clogged and although they told us that it would be fixed in the next hour, they never fixed it. Later, one of the employees told us that it was clogged several days now and not fixed.

The only positive is the location and the fact that you are in Istanbul!!!

After arriving at the hotel, we were surprised. We had booked a Luxury room for 3. We got a room where you can't move or sleep at all. They told us that our room was taken and that we would get a new one tomorrow. In the morning we got a new room, but not at all the one that was paid for. The hotel is in a terrible condition. The window couldn't be closed, moldy, the ceiling was falling, the bathroom moldy mess. Security is minimal. The card we received worked for all the rooms at the hotel. I accidentally opened the door with a neighbor. We have never experienced worse business in our lives. I do not recommend!!!!

location is perfect >>the reception guys BASEL AND HOSSAM are very polite and very gentle and also the breakfast was very good and the men working there all are very nice and polite .. over all every thing going very well .. thanks every body ,,

some how noisy and u can smell the shisha from the rooms from the the cafe ...

The location was amazing and the staff were exceptional. Salih in particular was very attentive however every staff member was lovely. Always offered us a complimentary tea when we arrived home and if we were just sitting at the tables watching the world go by. Safe area, quiet and clean rooms. Would definitely return.

The breakfast was generous however an unusual combination of items on the breakfast tray. Would have enjoyed a more authentic Turkish style breakfast rather than a mismatch of items on the try e.g cold chips, sweet cake, boiled egg, olives, cheese and bread that was not fresh. The omelette that came seperate was often cold. In saying that there was unlimited coffee and tea which was lovely and the service was quick and excellent. Our room always smelt bad like a stinky smell from the toilet or shower drain.

Staff were lovely n helpful. Location is great as easy to get to most main tourist points of interest Hotel was small but clean.

No lift on the ground floor so difficult for ppl with mobility issues. ⁶

The hotel was amazing and clean and near all .I would like to thank the hotel owner Mr. Fikrat, the manager Mr. Saleh and all the respected staff for their concern for our comfort.

The young man on reception was really helpful. The staff downstairs in the Ethnica Old City restaurant were amazing, they were very helpful and friendly and we had a lot of fun with them. We had the best dinner in Turkey in the restaurant. The location was excellent, it was in walking distance to all the main attractions ie. Blue Mosque, Topkapi, Grand Bazaar, Spice Market, Bosphoros River etc.

The rooms were pretty ordinary and were not cleaned every day unless you ask. The young man on reception was really helpful but the others basically ignored us. The beds were hard and they needed to upgrade their towels / bedlinen, mine was pilled very badly and I advise you to not look at the mattress beneath.

No running water when I awoke the day after I arrived , not good . No toilet , no shower ?

No water , request a twin room , got a double , went with a friend

The room was not as what was booked,, no water on the second day to shower, bed was hard and same food for breakfast for all 5 days

Ethnica Hotel Old City is based in Sirkici just a short walk away from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia this is the only positive comment I can make.

When I arrived at the hotel I had booked 3 luxury triple rooms. I receptionist could not speak (English) and I communicated with him in (Arabic). He told me there was no rooms available as they are taken on a first come basis, this was a nightmare scenario. After approximately 45 minutes of discussing what was available I had to settle for three rooms which did not meet my needs.The rooms were not luxury by any means or standard, they were dirty and small. The rooms are really not fit for human habitation.The bathrooms were disgusting, the shower didnt work, there was no running water allegedly due to works. However when we checked in other hotels in the block they were fine.The breakfast is not what you can expect in any other hotel standard. This hotel needs total renovation and is not worthy of being a 1 star in its current condition, this was an awful experience.

Easy walk to many major attractions.1 block from the tram lineStaff friendly and very helpful. Shout out to SelimGreat restaurant and food Good view of the Bosphorus from our room.

Elevator stopped between floors but Selim very helpful and carried bags up for us.No complaints or negative observations.,
