Pros +
- The location of the hotel was good. Our attraction the Musium and Blue Mosque were close to the hotel. The metro trains was also reachable. Although the road was too narrow to drive. The breakfast was good.

- Location, breakfast, some of the personnel.
Cons -
- The staff in the hotel was very gridy. They said you have booked room in the basement. We had to pay 50% more in cash to get room in the first floor. They did not accept credit cards.
- The rooms are small , and you can't get there easily without a car
- I had a room for two persons because I was to conduct some business and needed to have people come in for discussion, not to stay overnight. They did not allow me that, and the young man at the desk said I cold change the hotel if I wanted to.

The hotel has a perfect location—within walking distance to the Blue Mosque and many other major tourist spots. The tram station is also very close, making it easy to get around the city. There are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby, which is very convenient. The room was okay and comfortable enough for our family. The beds were large and easily fit two adults and two kids. While the room wasn’t spotless and the service isn’t comparable to 4–5 star hotels, it is excellent for the price you pay.We stayed in Room 201 and didn’t experience any noise issues from the restaurant. You can occasionally hear people talking outside the door from the neighboring room, but only when they’re in the hallway, which was not a problem for us.Overall, a great value stay in an excellent location, especially for families and travelers who plan to spend most of their time exploring Istanbul. The staffs are really courteous and accommodating too.
This isn’t really a dislike, just a nice-to-have improvement. The room was serviced every day, which we appreciated. It would have been even better if disposable cups, coffee, tea, and bottled water were automatically refilled during housekeeping instead of waiting for guests to request them. That said, this was not a big deal for us—just a small touch that would make the stay even more pleasant.
Warm water
No water bottles, Bathroom space is too less , no tooth paste n brush,no bathroom mat
The location is great..everything is close : attractions, trains, restaurants, shops…
The WiFi was weak
I was upgraded to a family room that could easily fit 4–5 people. I’m a solo traveler, so I really can’t complain — I basically enjoyed one of the largest rooms I’ve stayed in throughout Istanbul. It was practically like having two interconnected rooms, which was a great surprise.I also appreciated the late-night staff. I arrived around midnight, and the reception guy was helpful and welcoming. The bellboy who assisted me with my bags was also very kind. Their attitude gave me a good first impression.
Location:The Booking.com location score felt misleading. You have to climb a lot of stairs just to start your day. And to reach Çemberlitaş tram station, there are even more steps uphill. You need to be quite fit to handle it. I’m 40 and I struggled — I honestly can’t imagine doing this with my kids, wife, or parents. They would complain, and they’d be absolutely right.Cleanliness:Cleanliness could be improved. I found a few hairs in the bed, and overall I’d give it around a 5/10.Morning/noon staff:This was the biggest disappointment. Specifically, the lady at the reception during the morning/noon shift.A simple situation turned unnecessarily unpleasant. Since I arrived at midnight, I drank the two small sealed water cups provided in the room. The next morning, before heading out, I needed water to take my medication. I politely asked for one more cup.She continued texting on her phone, didn’t make eye contact, and simply told me to buy from the vending machine or a supermarket. She didn’t explain the hotel’s policy, didn’t clarify anything for future reference, and didn’t show any basic courtesy. Just a cold, dismissive attitude.I didn’t go into details about why I couldn’t buy water at that moment because I didn’t want to sound like I’m begging — I only needed one small cup of water. A humane, simple gesture would have completely avoided this negative experience. Her attitude alone made the stay feel much less welcoming.
Excellent location and friendly staff.
The hotel had several issues. Some of the rooms were quite old. The TV only offered channels in Turkish no international channels or languages. There was only one lift, which wasn’t working in the main building. The breakfast was quite disappointing — the selection was very limited. It consisted mainly of bread, butter, and a few Turkish dishes, with no real variety. There were no natural juices, and the kitchen did not appear clean.
The facilities are very satisfying, in the room there is drinking water, coffee and tea and there is a small refrigerator that works well, clean towels, soap and toiletries, We stayed in room 102 which has 1 double and 1 single available There is a dining table and sofa that are separated, so you can relax and enjoy your meal without dirtying the sleeping area. The female receptionist was very helpful and friendly.
The television doesn't work because it doesn't have any channels, the hair dryer works very slowly, and the mattress is not soft enough, it looks like the pillows need to be replaced And the mirror in the dining area was not cleaned properly.
The staff was great
We received a new room in a hotel nearby for the first night, which according to what we were said was the same quality, but we found that not true.
Good value for the money. The location of the hotel was great. The staff were excellent, especially the manager.
Now the main part of the review.I really, really didn't like how the booking was managed. Very bad management and customer treatment. I don't know if it was the hotel or Booking.com. The offer for this hotel was with an option to pay in the property, which I choose. Than someone tried to charge my card before time, the whole amount, several times in several days in 4am in the morning.. and Booking insisted on that for whole time. For that one you have "1"..unacceptable. Btw, in my profile there is still warning "Update your card details".. a BIG " - "(minus) for you Booking.com.
The hotel is well located, super near to the important places like Blue Mosque, Haifa Sofía and the Gran Bazaar. There are supermarkets near to it and it’s a safe place. The staff was really kind and they allowed us to leave our luggage while was our time flight.
Convenient walking distance to main attractions, clean and the staff very helpful the customer service was great they did their best to help
Very small, little uncomfortable stairs for the top floor
Great location, friendly staff, nice view, comfortable room
Disappointing
Unfortunately, my experience with one manager (possibly named Ali) was disappointing. When I asked about the room—since the pictures showed only two beds and we were five people—his reply was rude and in capital letters, saying there was a couch. This felt unprofessional. From the moment I booked through Booking.com, his replies were unfriendly and rude. When we arrived, we were given a family room in the basement—something not mentioned during booking. Paying a good amount, I expected this to be disclosed. The same manager made us wait longer and remained unwelcoming throughout our stay.On the last day, when my free airport taxi (Genius Level 3 benefit) didn’t respond, he ignored my request for help and said, “If you have a free taxi from Booking.com, then arrange it yourself.” His attitude was rude and unprofessional. At the end, we had to use the hotel’s taxi transfer service, which cost us €50 — more expensive than initially offered. Since it was urgent, we paid, but this was also disappointing.A lady at reception also gave inconsistent information, telling my niece that tea and coffee were only provided on the first day, which seemed unusual. The air conditioner was installed in a small area, so the larger space where three people slept didn’t get enough cooling. Also, the couch was uncomfortable and not pleasant to sleep on.Despite these issues, the hotel location was very good. Emre, one of the managers, was friendly and always willing to help. Mohamed was also great—always smiling and welcoming. In the evenings, Emre kindly showed me where to get tea and coffee. The kindness of these staff members made our stay more pleasant. The mix of helpful and unfriendly staff made the overall experience inconsistent and frustrating, especially with Booking.com’s services not working smoothly and unclear communication from the hotel.
BEDBUGS, 155 bites = bitten by at least 30 bugs
While staying at Blue Istanbul Hotel 1st – 4th June, 2025, I fell victim to bedbugs. 155 bites translates bitten by at least 30 bugs – this is excessive and this means the hotel is heavily infected and severely neglecting their duties to keep place clean and healthy. In my country, a thorough examination would follow and probably the permit of the hotel would be suspended immediately – owner and manager(s) may be forbidden to practice hotel-management in future. Now I have to take medication for over two weeks, avoid sun and much water – and I have to put another, ongoing medical treatment on hold because of this.https://blueistanbulhotel.com/Binbirdirek, Dizdariye Çeşmesi Sk. No:49, 34122 FatihMore details:-Upon returning home on 5th June, I contacted booking – they informed the hotel too-No response from hotel – this is telling-booking.com admits my complaint and offers voucher, which is just worth of my time I wasted on the first medical visit (no medication, no doctor fee included!): EUR 35. I made a fair and detailed calculation – lower than on recommendation by a travel legal and insurance advisor, he put compensation claim at EUR 250 to 400.-Due to the bedbug bites, I had to cancel other medical treatments on 6th, 10th, 12th June (proofs, documented)-In addition, there is a list of problems with the hotel – my score would be 5/10 without the bedbug health hazard-The hotel has a 8.7 rating currently on booking.com – this pushes me to question and discredit ALL ratings on booking.comOther problems with hotel:1.Main door has over 1 cm gap at bottom – all noise travels both ways.2.Terrible sink (cellar) smell in bathroom3.Noises probably by hotel staff any time of day- kicking furniture, smashing doors. Midnight, 7:00 AM.4.Hot water is very difficult to regulate – it is probably over 40 celsius degrees and is very hard to set optimum shower temperature – 40 or 18 celsius.5.Toilet paper and other usables never replaced.
Loved the upper floor with sea view! That's the view to have! But beware of the seagulls when on the balcony! Room.comfy and spacious with big window. Easy walking distance to Blue Mosque and Sultanamet area. Little convenient store just opposite hotel.
Lift was not working too well.If coming from Tram stop before Sultanamet stop... note need to navigate a bit of hill to get to hotel which can be uncomfortable with luggage.Direct flat walk is easy to Blue Mosque and Sultanamet stop. Note at airport.. getting the IstanbulCard for Metro needs 200 Lira note only to buy if pay cash..so make sure to get a 200 Lira note...as its a far walk from terminal to exchange money and be careful with credit cards at machines. Also exchange rate for cash at the money changer inside is very low rate. Go out of customs to one of the bank counters...much better! The hotel also has a little restaurant which is good to know! There is no top sheet on bed.. just a small thin blanket which seems common in this part of the world.
Spotless room, incredibly friendly staff, great location. Only stayed for 2 nights, was upgraded from a budget basement room to a 3-bed large room. I got in super late and staff was present 24/7. Cheap fruit stand/convenience store right outside that takes card, seemingly also open very late. Hotel located in a quiet area of old town, lots of small streets with cats walking around, not many people. 5-10 minute walk to most of the things around blue mosque, 15-20 min walk to the trains/metro.
Its great location and friendly staff.
I was expecting new coffee in the room everyday, but did not get it.
Excelent location near to all attraction. Staff are very friendly and the room was very clean. Highly recommend it!
