Pros +
- very good price at $---/night, good comfortable bed nice clean room. Also love the electronic do not disturb and make up room buttons
- Close to everything I need.
- Great rooms, really comfy beds, quiet, good curtains which blocked out light well, nice bathroom, cleanliness, nice and cool air con, nice kitchenware, good carparking, nice staff
Cons -
- The surcharge on my credit card was much higher than stated on the agreement, however we had a long drive and just wanted to check in so didn't argue over it
- The body wash dispenser in the shower was empty. TV was in another language so I was not able to view any channels. I had to phone reception from car park to remind them to open the door for me. Waitress did not understand what I was ordering so ended up with only my wife getting breakfast. She did not understand when we asked if they made coffee with Soy Milk
- I spoke with someone in reception to lower the AC after the first night. He said he did, but the temperature remained at 24C.

Perfect Location. Peace of mind leaving my car there. Room was quiet so had good sleep. Bedding was clean and bed comfy so had a great sleep. Breakfast was very affordable

Good location. Lots to eat.

I did not like nothing about this property, booking . Com must refund my money for horrible treatment, I encountered with a manager name , Mr. Pram
From time I checked in till checked out I went through horrible experiences with this property management, front counter assigned me a room was totally unsafe, room is on 2nd floor # 210 located on 3 angles of building it awkwardly design or built , it’s very small room doors opening awkwardly against wall , causing me to fell and my head was hit by door , safe was not working , following day went even smaller room room 701 , , safe was working ، no dial tone on their landline phone , no hanger, no blanket, dirty carpet, power was all over the floor , there was no house keeper , very load place , horrible food , only one female counter person ( was excellent, I forgot her name , Asian very polite, professional, helpful), and also a female waitress was very nice , polite, professional , the rest counter persons were very impolite, unprofessional, no courtesy, I don’t remember their name , however remember Mr. Pram duty manager
Location proved convenient to conference activities and central to most other activities I needed.
I couldn't find an iron in my room. I didn't have time to read the central information to find if a central resource room was evident.
really good value and great location.
there was some weird tape on the walls and i dont know if there was adequate ventilation in the bathroom, also they still use the outdated practice of photocopying your card when you check in which is a little odd.
Value for money, location, helpful reception staffs, clean rooms, facilities
The corridor from the lift to the room smelled unpleasant.
There was a kitchen and bed was comfy
Showers sadly
The VR is a great place to stay if you are engaging with anything happening on Karangahape Road, Queen Street, or the CBD generally. The room we had was spacious, with a kitchenette. Easy to get to, and the staff were helpful with unprompted suggestions.
The glasses in the cupboard were dirty, which makes you question the cleanliness of other things in the room. Also, the bed was REALLY soft for a hotel bed. Linens appeared clean and were tidy, though. I couldn't get my wifi to stay connected.
Good value. Quiet. Great location. Clean. Flexible check in/check out.
Bed was super soft. Personal choice though.
Friend staffs. After a long haul flight, the front counter staff allowed us to check in early to rest!clean unit.
It was convenient location, great size and lovely staff
Friendly people.
No couch or comfort in living area, no where to relax except bed!The glass wall between bedroom and bathroom is just a pain, disturbing sleep.
The price was insanely good. $45 USD is just a small step above hostel prices but you get a whole apartment with a kitchen and living room / social area, and sizable separate bedroom and bathroom. I don't know if the reception/check in is 24 hours but they were there when I got in at like 11 pm. Also there's on site parking, but it costs $30 NZD or about $17 USD (it's on the side of the building underground). Area was also walking distance to some restaurants and convenience stores. The furniture and appliances one can tell are a little old, but what do you expect for the price (you can't have everything while paying super budget rates). but everything was immaculately clean. I'm a simple dude and this was probably the best bang for my buck of all the budget hotels/motels I stayed in while traveling the North Island of NZ.
I can't even say that I disliked this one thing because it is sort of implicit in the price, but if there's anything to knock one could say the furniture / appliances looked old, but even saying this is really reaching because everything was immaculately clean and you can't get the world on a backpacker budget.
Helpful reception staff
Some deterioration in shower area needs repair and floor tiles needing more cleaning
Perfect for a single person stayAnd so central
Walk up Queen st with luggage- catch bus next time
That I had to pay $35 for a carpark - when I had 2 apartments booked
