Pros +
- Location was great. Bed was comfortable. Shower pressure was fab. If you just need a beer and somewhere to store it cook simple food, it’s good value. Paid parking across the street.
- Location was really close to everything. Place was clean and tidy and had plenty of amenities. Front desk were also super friendly and helpful
- Bed was comfortable.
Cons -
- Shabby inside and across the street from a mission so many people just hanging out on the street. To be fair, even though they were loud, no one interacted with us and there was no underlying aggression.
- Location was not great, large number of homeless people in the vicinity. Lack of parking options, $35 to use the Quest. Also the car parks were very smal.
- There was a bit of street noise at night as Hobson St is a major thoroughfare in the city. We heard several emergency services sirens. We had a window facing the alleyway and looking down Hobson St towards the Viaduct. A few revellers heard around midnight. The curtains help mask out some of the noise, but not all of it as the property seems to be single-glazed. There was a bit of dust and build-up on the carpet / lower wall behind the bedside table (discovered when plugging in phones to charge)

The location was excellent - close to Sky City (virtually across the road) and walkable to Britomart and the Viaduct. Helpful to be close to the SkyBus, openair Wilson carparks with two convenience stores down below. We were upgraded on arrival (yay!) to a one-bedroom apartment. The room was very spacious and tidy. The bed was comfortable and helpfully the curtains were thick/black-out. Excellent shower pressure!! Handy to have a washing machine and dryer too.

The location was great. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Car-parking was secure and convenient. Facilities were great. Very good value for Auckland CBD.
I can't really complain about anything as the good far outweighed the bad. If I had to mention something, it would be that our room looked straight into the apartment block next door and it was a little noisy with traffic and Saturday night revellers.
I liked that there was a washer and dryer since I was one week into my two week trip. It was spacious for the price. There’s a little convenience store right next door for snacks and drinks.
The bathroom gets hot during laundry drying session. The elevator is pretty small and only one. The check in area is very small. I tried to iron my clothes and it stained it I should’ve known when I saw brassiness marks on the iron.
The apartments are good, the location is great.
The area seems to be a hangout for rough sleepers in the neighbourhood. They didn't bother us though
We had to scramble last minute as our original host canceled our booking while on the flight coming to Auckland. We arrived at midnight after flying 16 hours to find our beautiful skyscraper apt canceled the hour before and the host ghosting us. Quest on Hobson was able to accommodate us on New Year’s day during high season! Kieran was so helpful and nice. Were our rooms 23 floors high with gorgeous views? No. But they were clean comfortable and in a great location.
It is hard to compare to what we thought we were getting. We were staying 4 nights in total luxury to ease into our month long holiday. Quest on Hobson stepped in when nothing else was available, for that we are very appreciative. The building is in a great location and Kieran was very nice and accommodating.
They have a complicated system if you have to check in after 5pm, as no reception after 5pm. You have to intercom call them for instructions how to get the room key. Why not send it through email or message???The lady answered my call is very inpatient. When I can’t find the key and call her again, she didn’t answer the call!!!Fortunately other guests told me how to get the key. There was hair on pillow. Kitchen Sink was dirty. The 2nd day I went back room after 3pm, but the room was still messy only come to clean after I called reception.
The staff, no clean enough
Location was excellent; Hobson Street noise was easily heard; parking was convenient, spaces small. Entrance/exit difficult; front desk on “holiday schedule); waited over an hour to be greeted; construction directly in front of hotel attracted beggars who were omnipresent.
Greeting; front desk attendants; street noise
Location. Comfortable. Great staff
Air con stopped working - but I got moved to a new room. Original room Shower had leaking fitting - seemed like I got a budget room for starters.
Clean very comfortable easy to check in and out and great location
VERY comfortable room and bed close to a bunch of Auckland fun. Price was right, too.
I have stayed here before and it's not most recent Quest in Auckland but it is well maintained, and the team seems to care about guests comfort a great deal also was a good size room for the price, great for a solo traveller. My washing machine has a fault but after I signaled this to the front desk, someone came to the room to check on it within the day. Since it could not be fixed right away, my clothes were washed for me.
Occasionally a bit of loitering down the building, which has a convenience store at the corner - nothing too bad : no one showed any aggression or tried to follow me in etc. - just general rowdiness which I am always on guard for as solo traveler.
Our room was great with an amazing view of the sky tower. The reception staff were so helpful and friendly.
Front of house staff were very friendly. The bed was very comfortable. Easy check in process
No double glazing on windows so being on a main road, the room was very noisy all night. You definitely need earplugs. The carpets need a really good clean. I didn't want to take my shoes off. The whole room needs a good deep clean, including around the stove top, microwave, loads of scuff marks on the walls, sticky TV remote.
Appartment hotel location was good. Very close (walking distance) to Marina and business streets (Victoria, Queen streets).Staff was very friendly and ready to help. Close to shopping centers as well as groceries.
The area is "bit" scary in the evening/night since people (could be junky, drunk, drug) are laying around. A little bit more emphasis on cleaning will definetely improve the "cachet" of the room.
Good sized affordable apartment close to CBDBut nice and quiet
We had no windows that we could open
Great location. Very clean. Good price.
Great location for our short stay and early departure on the bus in the morning. Supermarket down stairs was very convenient. Room was very spacious and well equipped.
The window outlook was awful.
