Auckland Newmarket Motel

The location was excellent, very central.

The parking was limited and very compact in the area available.

Was just what we needed for a night stay

Very noisy with people walking above. Floor very thin could hear just about everything. Needs updating and some fixing especially the outside sliding door. Easy to lift open even when locked. Cracked handbasin.

Location to Newmarket proper.

The whole motel complex looks like an old construction zone. Shower drain was blocked, shower base overflows. Drain cover floats off showing manky moldy drain. The shower hose leaks water everywhere & fluctuates hot & cold. Poor check-in. Over priced.

A/C, location

Dead insects on the desk top when I arrived, noisy footsteps above my room, temperamental shower, hard bed, poor reception on arrival. Bedside lights not working.

Was close too town

Water pressure was rubbish. Shower was rubbish

Quiet, good location, easy check-in, comfortable beds and plunger coffee too.

Location is good and so is the price, has everything you need!

Ground floor suites can hear everything from above, every conversation, what's on TV and every footstep... A real shame

Very good value for the room & location. Staff were friendly & helpful.

The 2 bedroom suite had separate bedrooms which was good when travelling with a teen

Overall the building was bit run down, although some cosmetic changes, I would only stay for a night or two

they were very accommodating as we were traveling with a dog

Missing a small hotplate somewhere to warm up at least a soup. That would be great especially for people who stay more than one night

My dad was at Southern cross hospital on gillies ave so motel was walking distance. The man at reception was very friendly and helpful he recommended the restaurant right next door lovely food and with quick service

Kitchenette a bit small but there wasn't much room for the kitchen anyway

Rude host Door lock broken, had so much trouble for the host just to screw in the screws, chain don’t fit the part on wall. Made us feel like criminals, scary situation. Wouldn’t believe we had a booking even though we had checked in Threatened he rang police and then laughed when we questioned where are they People asking us for weed that weren’t guests of motel Horrible shower We where meant to stay 2 days left at 9am next day Cancelled room and lucky we got $200 back Never again Don’t stay at this place!

There was a issue with our room so new market motel relocated us and it was a upgrade. Appreciated it

The room was clean & tidy

The motel was so noisy with doors slamming , cars coming & goubg at all hours, heels click clacking along the verandah, staff outside at 1am, it felt like we were in a brothel where customers come & go all night! We told the owner we wanted to cancel the remaining 2 nights of our 3 nights stay - he told us to go thru booking.com and we did, but so far, they have refused to refund us!!!!Horrible, horrible experience!

The location was convenient

The room was not clean and there were signs of ant killer, dead ants by the bed.The staff conned me into paying a charge that didn’t exist and when I realised this and asked for my money back the staff member with whom I spoke became very aggressive and threatened to kick me out of the motel. As a 63 year old NZer returning from 38 years of living in Europe and travelling a lot in Asia, I was shocked at his behaviour. Still, you have to hand it to him, it is incredibly brave that a grown man should threaten a woman on her own, right?
