The staff are helpful and friendly, the restaurant meal was lovely, It was close walking distance to the shops.
The dodgy brothers trying to remove upstairs railing outside our room
The complex is undergoing a refurb & we got a lovely newly decorated room...Clean, Quiet, Comfortable bed, Great shower and only a couple of blocks to New Market so an easy walk. Great Value too.
Nothing to complain about
Nice & clean comfortable good location not far from Auckland domain Good size room
Just wish the bed had a duvet not sheets acting as a duvet
Great location
It was old and run down, the room looked nothing like we booked. Spacious but not well cleaned, had to rewash dishes before using them, windows in the bathroom / toilet didn’t close properly so dust and stuff flew in making the bathroom dirty and there were spiders in the toilet. Every bed had two pillows except one bed and there was not extra pillows in the room. Could definitely do with some refurbishments. Also we were told if we were departing before 0730 we could leave the keys in the room which we did but I still got a phone call after 12.30pm asking when I would be checking out even though we had already left. When I tried to ring I couldn’t get through so had to message them through the app to inform them we had already left.
Great location in relation to the Newmarket Westfield and rooftop eateries and bars, it only took us a few minutes to walk. Our room was on the second floor of the lodge and we liked having the ranchslider open for fresh air. The beds were clean and comfortable. Parking was good and it was easy to find.
The bathroom didn't have a lock and the sliding door didn't allow complete privacy. We were woken at about 4 am by someone in a neighboring room having a shower, which is not the lodge's fault, but the noise travelled.
We usually stay in the main part but a studio this time for one nightAn obliging receptionist helped with the tv all was adequate & very clean.
A small studio but a great price for 1 night A bit noisy, with outside talking until midnight unfortunately, otherwise all good.
Great Location. Large units.
Units need renovating.
The room is big, the free parking, the location.
Cracks in the shower.
My room was on the ground floor of the main building. It is a comfortable large room with a big double bed. A small separate bathroom in the corner had a shower with plenty of hot water. A fridge and basic crockery and cutlery are provided if one wishes to make breakfast or supper, as I do. I usually have a dinner at the on-site restaurant, but my visit this time did not allow time to do this. There is a good selection of bars and restaurants about 10 minutes' walk away in central Newmarket. I choose to stay here as there is free off-street parking, and it is close to motorways south and north which helps considerably with my business visits around the Auckland area.
Bed was amazing, staff were friendly and helpful, food was very good and coffee was fantastic.
Plug placement in room was awkward; No bedside plugs meant I had to charge my phone across the room. Bathroom sink was awkward to fill drink bottle in.
S always just what we needed ,good location, clean tidy rooms and comfy beds and pillows
Out of the hotels control but construction next door started early in the morning not ideal to get woken up by lol
Very quite Good air conditioner Very comfortable bed Very close to public transport
Price and location
The rooms were average at best, shower was terrible
Having a quiet street and neighourhood was good for night sleeping but the stairs were noisy and the firedoor was banging a lot. The location ment we close to shops and bus stop.We would preferred to dine at the Alpers Lodge every night as it was good food but we couldnt afford it
The old building were in was rotting and on lifting the window [Fire escape] we found rotting timber. As mentioned the price of dining could have reduced for quests .There was a need for access to a toilet outside of the room so that when shower was in use there was not an inconvenience.
Always enjoy staying, beds are very comfortable and good location. Staff are always helpful.
Great location, lovely staff
Old and outdated and very noisy
I loved its convenience, the ability to park outside and the cleanliness of the lodge. The staff were helpful and friendly
