It was beautifully decorated, very classy, so much character, very quiet.Fabulous location. Lovely helpful staff
Couldnt fault it
Loved my stay, comfiest bed
Would have liked the bar to be open on the night I stayed (Sunday)
Clean, quaint and close walk to Dan park
The beautiful furnishings and the history behind the hotel
The rooms were quite poky and dark but very quaint and comfortable
I'm a kiwi living in the USA and have stayed here several times on arrival in NZ and its simple, tasteful, quiet and super clean, it's my go-to place in Auckland. Fridge and coffee amenities in the room and the shower is great after a long day. This time there were 3 adults and we had the larger suite with two rooms and a little deck, and it worked out well. Having designated parking is helpful. Although ultimately, I didn't use it they did offer to hold my suitcases from 8am on the day of check-in as my plane arrived very early.
Every time I come, I have to beg for ice from the kitchen or the bar and only get a couple of cubes. It would be really great if they could sneak in a small ice maker somewhere that guests could access. A list of local amenities would be helpful unless I missed it, supermarket, coffee shops etc.
Location was fantastic and the rooms and facilities perfect for our trip. Clean and comfortable, fun. Staff very friendly and ADA Restaurant was an added bonus.
Would be good to provide breakfast option.

Tiny room
Beautifully decorated and helpful staff.Felt very high end. Super comfy bed and clean bathroom. Highly recommend.
All great!
The building, ambience and style were great. The staff lovely. The vibe very cool.Carpark excellent.Excellent shower.
The rooms were small but adequate. Price should not go any higher.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room we had was a gorgeous well decorated room with a lovely bathroom. The location was also ideal too being walking distance to Western Springs Stadium
Loved the religious/ historical ambience. Very tastefully furnished. Really enjoyed the private patio.
It’s a little far out from waterfront.
I loved the quirky decor. It had a very artsy vibe. The rooms were well appointed.
Not having air conditioning that you could control from your room meant our second night was quite warm in our room. Reception wasn’t manned overnight, so we couldn’t ask the to reduce the temperature in our room. This meant our second night we didn’t sleep as well.
Really cool place, with very lovely and helpful staff. We enjoyed walking to Ponsonby for great cafes and restaurants. If you’re a light sleeper, recommend asking for a room upstairs to avoid noise overhead - the receptionists were very happy to accommodate us
As an old property, there’s some noise between rooms
Gorgeous private courtyard
The people in the room beside mine started playing their TV very loudly at 10pm. Fortunately I had earplugs but because it’s an older building it doesn’t have super sound proofing.
The hotel features a unique and refined interior design. The rooms are decorated in a vintage style, offering a quiet and comfortable atmosphere.
Some rooms have windows that cannot be opened, and the design of the underground ventilation system reduces comfort, as the air vents are very loud. At night, pillows and heavy objects are needed to suppress the noise. Conversations from the hallway can also be heard inside the room.
Beds were amazingly comfortable.
Unfortunately the bar and restaurant weren’t open during our stay which we were unaware of before arrival.
I liked the aesthetic of the building, onsite parking and the friendly service
Didn’t like how loud it was had to use ear plugs, the room also needed a deep clean lots of dust on light shades and mirror details, but is an old building with fancy finishings
