    Pros +

    • The hotel was modern and tidy. Thne staff where courteous and attentive. The location to Spark Arena was spot on. We wiull use the accommodation again when we go tyo Auckland for an event.
    • Location, dark rooms for sleeping, comfortable bed, good amenities, restaurant and private lounge, building and interior design. Very close to ferries, restaurants and walking track.
    • Great location. Pleasant staff and everything was super clean. Very trendy.Tea and coffee facilities were provided.I also loved the pricelist for everything a guest might want to steal from the room. What a great idea.

    Cons -

    • There was nothing we didnt like about the hotel. It was a perfect break
    • Would be great to have a sauna!
    • I did suggest to reception that they need a toilet brush in each room. Not an issue for singles, but for couples it is a must, especially as the toilets have no doors. Some small UHT/long-life milk would have been good too.

Staff were great. Very good restaurant (had both breakfast and lunch).

Electronic controls for lights, window shades could use an instruction sheet.

Great location. Handsome, comfortable and clean interior. Kind staff.

    Nothing. I liked the property

The reception staff was very efficient and friendly on check-in. My request for a high floor and harbor view was satisfied with a room in the perfect location. Although the room is a bit on the small side, it was quite adequate and very comfortable. The sheer and blackout shades worked nicely. The housekeeping staff did a wonderful job for each of the three days we stayed at The Hotel Britomart. The location of the hotel is among the best for vacationers as it is right across the street from the wharf, ferries, and fine dining, and very close to the CBD for business visitors. This stay was our second, just prior to leaving NZ. After a late checkout, we were made to feel welcome and comfortable before a late departure for home.

The lighting is rather complicated with buttons to turn it on and off, as well as dimming with the same button. The bed stands are little alcoves. They were tight and awkward, but they did have a USB port and two electrical outlets, so I can't complain too much about the space.

The hotel is more beautiful in person with all the natural materials and design elements. Extremely clean. All front line staff and concierge were exceptionally warm and friendly, and the beds and pillows extremely comfortable. We didn’t eat at the hotel as there were several great choices within a block or even a few steps away. The waterfront is right there and a happening area to visit at night. Some rooms on the top floors or corners have a better view of the water or even the square below, others not so much. We booked two rooms for five nights and made the hotel a base for our travels. Wish it was a better value for money, would have been nice to have a small gesture towards that. Great stay overall!!

Gym was a little dark and claustrophobic

Excellent breakfast - recommend the huevos rancheros as a healthy start to the day. Staff are young and extremely attentive and helpful

    Nothing not to like

Fantastic location! Really nice restaurant and great coffee on site. Our room was quiet and comfortable and had all of the amenities that we needed. Love the automated blackout and sunshade blinds.

    No complaints

A beautifully designed modern hotel. Fantastic location. Staff were friendly and welcoming.

Because of the location of the hotel and the room, the noise from the street was quite audible, mainly people coming out from the bars and clubs. But to be expected given the amazing location in the heart of Britomart.

Very stylish, centrally located new property

Great interconnecting rooms, however to possibility to switch off light and put down shades in connecting floor

Everything. Incredible sheets, toiletries, cleanliness. The Libraries were beautiful. The staff extremely attentive. My go-to in Auckland.

    9PatriciaPosted on: 1-12-2026

Breakfasts were excellent. Service in the front lounge area was a little inconsistent- staff seemed to forget it was there sometimes.

The room had absolutely nowhere to hang small items of under where rinsed out overnight.

    10MagnusPosted on: 1-11-2026

Modern, sleek rooms. Thoughtful use of space with sofa integrated in basic room setting. Excellent facilities - gym, dining, bar. Location cannot be beaten.

Great location, friendly staff,Clean and modern rooms inside a beautiful building.Good sound proofing.

Room wasn’t ready until about 45 minutes after check in time. The lady at the front desk didn’t seem to know what to do to make it work smoothly. She suggested we check out the wine bar while they got the room ready, nice but maybe they could have offered a drink on the house or waived the valet parking fee. Something to apologise for having to wait an hr would have been a nice touch.

We loved this hotel — the design, the wood, and the industrial details are beautiful. The service was very professional, from the concierge to the reception team. The restaurants, Kingi and The Library, are vibrant and enjoyable spaces. At The Library, we especially appreciated the friendly service and the Brazilian music. An extraordinary hotel overall.

The rooms were a bit small.

Only spent one night here but would return for the comfortable room and convenient location.

    10AudePosted on: 1-7-2026

The staff was amazingly friendly and helpul and the rooms very modern and agreeable. The breakfast was yummy and the Library was a nice place to come home too after a day of exploring the city.
