- This is very nice modern hotel. Great clean room, size just right for two people with luggage. Great assortment of tea with right equipment to brew it. Free tea served on the front desk level. Cleaning Service went above expectation.
- Staff were super friendly and accommodating. Hotel was very clean and well organized. Decor minimalistic and zen. They offer tea service at reception and inside our room. Breakfast buffet was delicious and affordable. Almost all of the food were based off of tea. They were able to hold our bags after check out.
Cons -
- Nada
- We asked about early check in (1hr) before regular time and they wanted to charge us for that $40. That was kind of bad impression. $40 for 1hr sounds a little too expensive.A little too fare for some people to public transportation.
- No self laundry machine were offered at hotel however found laundry facilities close to hotel. They do offer laundry service.

We really enjoyed our stay. The property was clean and the staff friendly. The room was really comfortable.
The location is less ideal than other neighborhoods. Also, the room was a bit less soundproof than other hotels.
really clean and well maintained room with good layout
the nearest station is a 10 min walk
We stayed at Hotel 1899 for 3 nights. The hotel is clean, minimalist but with all necessities included. They have a tasty breakfast and complimentary tea service. We are extremely thankful to the hotel staff. My husband fell very ill during our stay and required medical assistance. Hotel staff provided medicine, doctor information. They helped us call hospitals, followed up with messages. It is the best service and help we ever received.
Everything was great.
Our room was one of the larger corner rooms and the layout of the bathroom was great. The room was very clean with good amenities. Good design overall.
Needs more breakfast options. Location not great for restaurants requiring more walking to areas with restaurant choices. Very quiet area at night.
The location, breakfast, tea service, and excellent service made this a standout hotel for me. The staff also sent some forgotten items to the airport for me for a small fee.
Nothing!
Wonderful calm and gracious atmosphere, kind staff, and small but well appointed rooms. Convenient location and fine breakfast
Quiet, clean, comfortable and ideal location if you don't like being in the center of action. Peaceful, and loved the tea theme.
Liked everything about our stay.
We enjoyed our stay at 1899. The location is very convenient, within walking distance of Tokyo Tower and the TeamLab exhibition. The room is small but reasonably priced and comfortable. The mattress is hard but the room is quiet, so we slept well. The staff are friendly, and the breakfast buffet (available for purchase) was excellent, a great selection of delicious food!
Generally we liked it!
We booked Hotel 1899 for our final night in Japan when we planned to visit the Tokyo Tower! If you want to be in the heart of Tokyo - this is a great stay with very clean, comfortable rooms with a good breakfast and complimentary tea in the lobby.
We felt like the room was a little pricy for what you received, but we figured it was the location that was the most desirable!
Helpful staff, decent location, nice tea and café downstairs.
I saw the hotel had responded to other reviews saying they have a mattress topper, but it is only a thin cover. It isn't what many tourists would expect and does not help make the standard firm mattress any more comfortable. That was disappointing.
Great location, exceptionally clean, friendly staff, great Japanese breakfast.
I loved the complimentary Tea Service , the wonderful staff and the matcha inspired dishes at their restaurant downstairs the room was exceptionally nice and very cozy.
The only thing was that our AC didnt work for the first 2 days but we went during a time where the weather was very slightly chilly so it worked out.
Room is small but comfortable clean and quiet. Convenient location to subway system. Nice touches (slippers and housecoats).
Room are tiny but adequate.
Amazing hotel staff, room was comfortable and good sized for Tokyo. Bedding was very soft and high quality and even the shower products were high quality. Central location just a short walk from station. Highly recommend.
The property was clean but hard to navigate the place and literally no phone answered ! Their free match is good ! Their breakfast doesn’t have options for vegetarians except the rice and croissants ! Not so great you get better property for this price or Airbnb
Location was good
The restaurant associated with the hotel for breakfast were very flexible in making scrambled eggs more well-done for my husband. We appreciated the defroster in the bathroom mirror
The pillows were a bit flat
room was clean, the staff very friendly and helpful. The AC was better than other hotels I stayed in Japan.
The view was very dull, and location is not near anything special.
