    Pros +

    • Price, value, professionalism, presentation of the hostel.
    • Location
    • Location was great

    Cons -

    • Challenge navigating all the Shinjuku metro stations to find out that entrance C7 for Shunjuku-Sanchome Station was the closest to the hostel.
    • Rude staff, smelly rooms, drunk guest
    • Absolutely disgusting mold everywhere on the walls and ceiling. You also need to make your own beds which is ridiculous considering this was one of the more pricier hostels in shinjuku and the facilities are minimally maintained. There are no amenities and on top of all of this, you need to pay 200 yen just to rent a bath towel. I’ve genuinely never seen anything like this, it goes beyond blatantly lazy, they obviously dont care about guest experiences even the slightest

Great location. They clean the common area on the floor daily. I like that there have a little zone in each room for where you put your luggages with a little counter.

Very good locationStaff was very helpful and let me change the room because of the noisePretty clean and good common space

Room are sometimes a bit small and you can open your suitcase

Great place for value. Excellent location, and really good service.

Perhaps the washrooms should be a bit cleaner, but it is good enough.

Stuff behaviour very nice. Location also good

They don't have lockers. Won't give towels.

Overall, everything at the hostel itself was good. It was clean (included the dorm room itself) and had a common space on each floor for people to use. There were plenty of bathrooms/toilets to share.

The common area downstairs felt slightly crowded when a lot of people were using it. The breakfast was good but not worth the regular 950 yen price I think. (I paid I think something like 600 yen extra on top of the "no breakfast" stay option to get mine, so I guess that was a fair price.) It's intersting that the base price for this hostel varies widely depending on the day you stay. I paid something like 8,000 yen for the day I stayed, but I noticed that it would be only 4,000 yen on the cheapest days and something over 10,000 yen on busy days. There are other net cafes (i.e., dorns) and hostels in the area that are only around 4,000 every day, so those might be your best bet.

The staff is the only saving grace of this place. The property has a bad mold problem which they were aware of. Unfortunately I couldn't stay because it affected my health. A female staff member (I think her name is Shelly) gave a great recommendation of the hostel up the street called Unplan which was 10xs better. The MOD Coco and the rest were nice and accommodating.

Lack of security of the luggage room, lack of cleanliness from the elevators to room floors, having to make your own bed. I could go on but what stood out the most was the mold throughout the building (see pictures)!which the staff was aware of. When I pointed out the mold on the AC unit in the first room I was assigned to, I was told they were supposed to have it cleaned a few weeks ago but they got busy. Clearly they didn't think about the health of future guests beforehand because unfortunately I became very sick and stayed in bed at another place. Staying at Imano was a waste of time and money. I'm unsure how they can have a high rating. Perhaps on the laurels of the staff? Whatever the case maybe, my advice...unless they have cleaned up the mold issue and housekeeping has gotten better, DO NOT STAY HERE!

The location, cleanliness, friendly and helpful staff.

The bathroom got crowded in the mornings. Some evenings girls would be outside the room having loud conversations in their phones but I was able to fall back asleep. One of my dorm room ladies had an alarm go off each morning at 5:15 a.m. Another walked past my bed early each morning not lifting her feet and her shoes or slippers would clack clack clack by my head - I was in the lower bunk.

Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Very convenient luggage storage. Very simple but clean and comfortable rooms.

it’s standard for a hostel. Plenty toilet and shower stalls for girls so it’s a plus.

the wall is very thin, I’m awaked by somebody closing the rubbish bins outside the room.

    9Khristina J.Posted on: 11-10-2025

I liked that it was within walking distance to all the places I was planning to go to and the bed was comfy and I had no problem falling asleep. And that they let me check in earlier than stated. I came straight to Japan after an event and was so tired so I really appreciate it.

Out of the hostels control really but the guest can be a bit more considerate. I know the bed area has little to no space to pack your luggages and thats fine but to do it at like 11pm?? Early morning would have been fine. And if you’re gonna drink and get wasted, learn to aim for the toilet bowl at least and not leave your vomit beside it. It stunk and I kept smelling vomit while I was taking a shower. Gross!

Convenient location, easy 2 min walk from Shinjuku Sanchome on the Marunouchi line

Disappointed there was no locker provided to secure personal items

    9WeslyPosted on: 10-26-2025

Staff always available, clean, with a coffee shop at the lobby, beds were ok, bathrooms and toilets too. Close to everything.

    No lockers for bags available.

Capsules are relitively big (for a capsule, lol) and comfy. Showers and toilets are very clean. Pretty quiet for a hostel. Comftable place to work on your laptop in the cafe on the bottom floor if youre a digital nomad. Staff are nice and friendly.

Not super social if thats your thing, but i found it just social enough for an introvet :) Coffee could be better in the cafe. Dorms could have a bit more area for luggae and storage.
