    Pros +

    • The cleanness of room and size
    • Free Breakfast was amazing! Plus the water station and the free coffee was very nice.
    • Very clean and free breakfast

    Cons -

    • Most reception staff were rude and not patient
    • What I didn't like was the pillows and the bed. They were both pretty hard. The bed had little padding and the pillows were just kind of hard. Also the area was a bit far from the main train stations. Also not the hotels fault, but I accidentally got a smoking room and when I tried to change it after check in they had no rooms left so had to stay on a super smoke smelling room and floor. Please make sure you don't have a smoking floor before booking

Hotel was clean. Staff was helpful and nice. Provided breakfast was much appreciated.

nothing really. In Shinjuku, you expect the surrounding area to be what it is.

I loved the daily breakfast options, they were always delicious! The staff was very friendly and helpful whenever I needed assistance. The room was clean and the perfect size, I appreciated the free toiletries in the lobby also. The location has a 7-11 in front, which was fantastic, but sits on a slight hill so getting there from the Shinjuku station with my luggage was tiring after a long plane ride (that’s my fault though, I should’ve booked a taxi). I also appreciate how eco-conscious they are!

The mattress was too firm for my liking, so it was hard to sleep the first few nights. Additionally, you only get 1 pillow, which I found odd that we couldn’t request at least 1 more but we got daily towels without being asked (which require a lot of washing, so contradicts the eco consciousness a bit).

    - Staff is really helpful. - Room is clean. They provide everything you need.- good for solo traveler.

    - location is far away from the Shinjuku station. - It is in the entertainment area which you can hear a noise from the night time activities.- Breakfast is local food and keep running out. Don’t expect to be like buffet breakfast. -Dining room is a bit small compared to the number of guests.

A staff member, Obi San, gave exact instructions and directions to a taxi driver for me so that I could get exactly to where I wanted to go. It was nearby and within walking distance, but I couldn`t walk because of blisters on my feet. The other staff members were professional and friendly. The room was reasonably priced. The room, sheets, and towels were clean. There was a coin laundry on the premises, which was important. The breakfast food choice was limited but filling, and you could take coffee to your room. The breakfast staff was friendly. There was a 7-11 nearby. The TV provided an English translation button for basic display of hotel facilities and rules. The room fridge cooled down quickly. Despite being close to one of the busiest red-light districts in Tokyo, this hotel was quiet and I felt safe.

Even with the exact address in both Romaji and Japanese, only one of 3 taxi drivers was able to find this hotel. The first one got close, and another one gave up and let me off at Kabukicho Tower, which was a 7-minute walk away if you walk fast and know where you`re going. The hotel is tucked away on a back street and can be a little difficult to find, even with the use of Google Maps. The bed was a little harder than I`d like. The air conditioner was set to 26 - 28 C (I don`t remember exactly), and signs indicated that it would be set to 20 C in the winter.

Great location . Great price for a hotel , sitting in main Tokyo area .Very Clean , Breakfast was sooooooooo exceptional . Free amenities on the front counter upon walk in . Walking distance to most Main attraction in shinjuku . 7-11 convenience store is just 1 minute walk from the hotel and lots of convenience store and food restaurant around the hotel . Very quiet and Safe hotel to stay . were going to book this hotel again next Tokyo trip

our Window was blocked by a brick wall with lots of electric wire (: on it .. so NO window view which i asked before .. But still love this hotel ...

Amazing staff. Property was located at the center of shinjuku. (8min walk from Godzilla head, 15min to omoide, near to 2 subway stations 8-11min walk) lots of convenience stores in the area. Very lively at night. Water (hot/cold) ice dispenser at the lobby. There were also vening machines. All in all 8/10

The staff was exemplary. Very polite and extremely helpful. The breakfast was also nice. And location is good as is just 5 minutes walk to one of the metro stations.

    7VasilisPosted on: 6-26-2025

    Clean .

Long check in with the automated machine. I had to lay extra for late check out even for one hour extra. Breakfast finished at 9:00 too early.

The lication was just right, In Shinjuku but not too loud, Close to the action but far enough to enjoy the quiet. The breakfast was great and complimentary. I will definately stay here in the future.

The rooms are good, functional and clean. The elevator takes a little time to get to the highrt floors.

    8NormanPosted on: 6-2-2025

The location was very convenient for Shin-okubo station and not too far from Shinjuki station. It is also a few minutes away from the louder parts of Shinjuku. Free breakfast was great as well even if you just want to grab something small. Probably my favorite part of the hotel. Will stay again if traveling alone

Although I was okay with it, I do have to mention the bed was pretty hard. It was great for me though as I prefer a slightly harder bed, but if you like softer beds, you're going to be really disappointed

    The staff and the breakfast

The room wasn’t included the cleaning, but anyway leave me clean towels everyday.

    9LissPosted on: 4-25-2025

Size of the room and the location, and by choosing this hotel we could afford three separate rooms and not have to share bed nor bathroom.

    9RalfPosted on: 4-24-2025

This hotel is at the heart of Shinjuku. Just 5 min away from the Station, also a subway at 5 min & 10min from Gyoen nat. garden. Is surrounded by good restaurants. A 7/11, Family Mart & Lawson @ just 1 min. And with just a few minutes walk your in the middle of everything!!! The staff was very nice and my room as well. Not so small as most Tokyo hotelrooms. And for a good priceSo yes, I will definitly go to Toyoko Inn again. (Went to the location @ Matsumoto as well, loved it too!!)

(The breakfast. But hey, you’re in Tokyo… there’s good, and cheap, breakfast like everywhere ??)
