    Pros +

    • First and for most the friendly staff and how the hotel responded to every question asked through the Booking.com message function. We had to change our booking to to the change in our flight iteniary from the airline, and they entertain us on this with no hassle. We arrived early from the check in time, they allowed us to leave our baggage at the hotel, and when it was about 1-hr to check in time, they allowed us to check in early with our bags already send up to the room. The Japanese breakfast provided was great as well. As a Muslim of course we cannot enjoy everything, but we did eat the morning rice with miso soup, fried sunny side up eggs (that you will need to fry yourself, limited to one egg per person), toasts with jam and butter and coffee. They do also supply us desserts (one for each person as well), but we cannot eat them due to the ingredients. But this is actually a plus for other tourist to enjoy the desserts from the adjecent bakery that is popular even with the locals. The room was spacious (19m2) as compared to other nearby hotels (11m2), we got a room with two double beds so it was comfortable for us 4 in a family (with just a baby and a 7yo). They had a bath tub in the small toilet and other amenities was available as well like a public microvave and water cooler/hot at every floor. You can also borrow an iron from level 6 if needed. They also provide a shared ofuro, but we did not try it.The location is the best if you are arriving from Narita International Airport as it is directly in front of the Keisei-Ueno station and the Ueno station is just nearby as well. Is is also adjacent to Ueno Park and the Ueno zoo and the Ameyoko street. And Tokyo University was a 17 mins walk away from the hotel.
    • Location
    • The location was excellent, right out the front of Ueno Station. My room had a beautiful view of the pond. It was quite spacious and even had a lovely massage chair that I could relax in and watch TV. The double bed was super comfortable. Bathroom was good. No problem with the shower or toilet. Good quality toiletries were provided. The breakfast room also had a lovely view of the pond. Breakfast was OK, and you could also take sweets provided by the desert outlet. The private onsen on the top floor was wonderful. Would have been even better if the outside air temp was not close to 40° C.

    Cons -

    • The toilet did smell a bit. The bidet of the toilet does not seem to work well. All others is fine with me.
    • Tired ExpensiveVery simple breakfast
    • Nothing really, the air con really struggled to keep the room cool but was most likely to the unrelenting heat wave. The corridors were stifling.

Really close to Ueno and Keisei Ueno stations. Helpful staff. Classic style room, but with modern features. Great view. Easy access to Akihabara.

I had to leave early to catch an early train. No criticism of the hotel there, and the location made catching the train easy. I'll be back at the Outlet Hotel next month, hopefully for a less frantic stay.

    10ChiaPosted on: 9-8-2024

Location was next to the express train and about 5 minutes from the normal trains. Room was fairly clean with easy access to shopping locations nearby.

Breakfast could use more variety but can't complain as it's free.

The location to the Ueno station and ease of getting around from the hotel was perfect. The staff were very friendly and we had a nice view of the park.

The rooms are a little dated and the AC was required and quite noisy.

    6SingPosted on: 8-26-2024

Good location, just opposite the rail station.

The room is very small. It is very difficult to put my luggages into the room.

    9BiancaPosted on: 8-10-2024

Amazing location opposite Ueno park, easy connection to the Skyliner. Lots to do within walking distance of the hotel, including great places to eat near the station. Enjoyed the Japanese style breakfast.

The decor is a little dated but this is more than made up for by the reasonable price.

Location is the best! And very accomodating staff.

The bathroom is too small, the room is just ok and can’t move well around. Not recommended if you have kids with you.

    10WeiPosted on: 7-15-2024

Next to the Keisei skyliner station and ueno Park. Many convenient stores around and ueno main station is just 5 mins walk away. Bigger rooms than the usual hotels in Tokyo. Breakfast is quite nice but can have more options.Location wise and room size, this is the best for me in Tokyo especially if u are arriving and departing at Narita.

Not able to enter after 12 am but actually u can call them to open the door for u if u come back after 12 am. Just need to wait for a bit.

Good Locatiion in Ueno area. near Keisei and JR . I like Dessert shop at 1st Floor a lot. Good Breakfast Provide.

    quite old but it's OK.

Location is great. Private onsen is great. Vending machines and laundry available in hotel. It's an urban hotel; rooms are an ok size without flashy extra space.

    Breakfast was no so good.

Location is perfect! The room is small, but very comfortable. The cleanliness of the room and toilet is exceptional!

A variety on breakfast itemsRoom cleaning without having to put the sign "please make up the room now"

Hotel staff are friendly and helpful especially when my son had high fever , the staff tried to call the clinic to get doctor immediately to the hotel. Location is very convenient and it’s just opposite to ueno station and park.will come back again??

Location is exceptional as right across from a side train entrance and near the busy tourist shops (yet away from the noise) while right next to a park.

The bed was very large (two full size) for the room, leaving minimal space to walk around. I would recommend considering a single bed the next time I stay (and I will choose this hotel again).

    great location and breakfast

The room is on the smaller side

    7SrivastavaPosted on: 6-16-2024

expected a bigger room for the price we paid, hefty extra charges for 3rd person, but room size was planned for 2 persons only

room size, nearly same breakfast on daily basis

    6JamesPosted on: 6-15-2024

Best way to put it is quirky but the place is old and in need of updating. The position is unbeatable! Walk out the door and you’re looking at an entrance to Ueno Keisei Station. That’s where the AirPort Express trains operate. Also your literally at Ueno Park. The trade off is excellent position vs rather run down building.Staff were excellent and the included breakfast gives you a view across a lotus flower lake…

Bathroom was very, very small with original basin taps having cold water dripping.Toilet Roll dispenser protruded into where you sit on the toilet which made the task position wise challenging. They do have a washlet feature.

The hotel, although dated, has the comforts and conveniences of our home away from home. The bath facility is my favorite because there is plenty of space for a relaxing bath and dressing up after a long and tiring day.

None although room and lobby may be cramped it is something that’s manageable.
