Richmond Hotel Tokyo Mejiro

Front desk staff was great. Friendly and accommodating.

Bathroom was outdated and "old". The overall room was lacking in cleanliness and the cleaning staff did not fully clean the room, even when the preference was selected.

The property was extremely clean and organized it was my first hotel once I arrived in Japan.

The location was a little out of the way for my preferences but I have nothing negative to say about the hotel or the staff. They were exceptional

Breakfast was too traditional with less options for foreigners. Property was a bit old.

Location is great - walking distance from quiet Mejiro station (a welcome respite from the busy Shibuya and Shinjuku station) Many nearby convenience stores. Complete amenities are available at the lobby, as well as a luggage weighing scale. Efficient use of space in the room. With a ledge near the window that can be used for luggage. Trouser press, laundry basket, refrigerator etcHelpful and courteous staff

One side of the bed was against the wall so it was a bit cramped for the person sleeping on that side. Although i understand since they had to be efficient about the small space

Good selection for breakfast buffet. Accommodating staff. Enjoyed the complimentary teas.

Hotel is very near to mejiro station, bakery and Indian food restaurant is also very nearby

Pajamas only come in one size. Which was too small for me.

Location very near with JR Mejiro station and bus stop. Also near from Ikebukuro station by taxi around 800-1500 yen.The hotel provide various amenities on the Lobby, also for washing machine with easy tutorial on it.There's a family restaurant on 2 floor which is convenience.

The lobby main gate did not open 24H even though you still have access from the back gate but it's inconvenience.

Nice lobby, friendly helpful staff and the location was great.

The bed and only chair in the room were hard and uncomfortable there was no place to relax.

Hotel is clean, spacious. A lot of amenities from the lobby than you can take. Location is perfect as is very close to train station. So it’s very easy to move around. Definitely will come back again if I visit Tokyo. ?

Location was close to subways, grocery stores and restaurants. No frills comfort without the hustle and bustle of busier areas like shinjuku and shubuya areas. Staff was also very helpful. Convenience of washer dryer, microwave and vending machine in hotel basement. Pleasantly surprised with breakfast buffet—-exceptional value for the quality and diversity of food.

Decor is a bit dated but that isn’t really important to our family.

The property felt safe and was conveniently located a short walk from the train station, konbinis, and other F&B shops. The staff was friendly, amenities were provided, and the room was spacious enough for two people. Transportation info to Narita and Haneda airport — among other hot spots — was also provided, which was very helpful.

No complaints.

The location is good, close to Mejiro Station on the Yamanote line. There are many restaurants and convenient stores nearby, a drug store (matsumoto kiyoshi) is also right in front of the hotel. It's also easy to take a taxi in front of the hotel, for those who needs it. The area near Mejiro Station is only one station away from Ikebukuro Station and three from Shinjuku Station, but is less crowded, making it a nice place to stay.The hotel building feels a bit old, but still comfortable, especially considering the relatively reasonable price.Check-in and out were smooth and easy, communication through booking.com was also good without being able to speak Japanese.

A small note on the surrounding area: restaurants and cafes around the hotel (not the hotel itself) don't provide much English support compared to more touristy places like Shinjuku and Shibuya. It was not a problem during our stay, but putting it here just in case it's helpful for others.

the staff was corteos.

The breakfast service was overall very poor quality, with dirty dishes and cockroaches running on the walls of the breakfast buffet! When we asked for the cancellation of breakfast for the remaining days, the staff told us as it was booked through bookings, it was not possible and the only option was to get some biscuits or coffee in exchange for 1500 yen per person per day... this exchange was not worth it.

I really like the location of the hotel, very near to the metro station. Staff was very helpful.

Only two pillows were given, would be nice if there’s more.

Love the location of the hotel. It is very near Mejiro station which is part of the Yamanote line that connects with a lot of other major areas in Tokyo. There also are a lot of convenience stores in the area.

No provision for drinking water. It would have been good to have drinking water stations where we can refill our own bottles.

Customer service was superb! They helped us so much during our stay. We paid more to switch to a bigger room and it was totally worth it! It’s very close to Meijiro station, we had no problem wheeling our large suitcases as the station has lifts. I’d love to go back to stay in the future!

Nothing really, just wished they had a water fountain.

The staff were all lovely and tried their hardest to meet any needs we had. They made us feel very valued as guests at the hotel and although there was a language barrier, they used other ways of communication such as a hand-held translation device. They were always very polite, welcoming, patient and friendly. The location was so convenient (only a 2 minute walk from Mejiro station) which was perfect after a full day of walking.

The bed was a bit hard and the room we had was a little bit smaller than what we probably needed however we had many belongings with us (3 suitcases and 1 snowboard). The room size would have been more suitable if we had less luggage but just something to consider if you have a lot of luggage like us!

Strategic location, staff is very friendly, room is clean and breakfast is included. Nearby JR station within walking distance. Easily accessed convenient store, bakery, bank, post office, Isetan, pharmacy, Starbucks and etc.Furthermore, this is a children friendly hotel, they provide free toys for children and provide children jinbei sleepwear.
