- The room was very big and spacious. The beds were comfortable.
- Location was alright
- the location is great, easy to travel from the airport, just a few minutes walk, this time we have to go to other cities, the hotel allows us to leave our luggage for up to 2 days, thank you very much
Cons -
- As we stayed during winter, there was no central heating, just with the AC. Since the mattresses were on the ground, it was chilly at that level. The room could have been better cleaned, on some surfaces you could see the dust.
- Mold everywhere, Japanese staff tried to charge us for new towels every night, Never cleaned our room once, No lifts, Japanese staff were extremely rude in giving us single use shampoo, conditioner etc. Refused to give us extra pillows and blankets.
- No Elevator

This was the best hotel I have ever stayed in Tokyo. It has a very central placement, right in the middle of kabukicho. It is traditional with tatami flor and futons. and the bedroom is HUGE. bigger than any other hotel Ive been in tokyo. I will book this hotel everytime im in Tokyo now. The staff was super nice and they even stored our luggages on our last day for us to enjoy Tokyo before the flight.
Nothing, everythign was amazing.
Location is nice since you are in the middle of Shinjuku neighborhood although it can get loud at night but it's something we were expecting. Staff is friendly and always tries to help you. Room is spacious and it has AC, fridge and kettle.
A bit far from the metro and shops.
It was close to everything in shinjuku. The staff was nice. The rooms are small but comfy and clean enough for the price in Tokyo.
Location is very strategic and I like that they always change our towels everyday. Staff are helpful too.
no elevator,(we stayed on 3rd floor) but they helped us with our baggage.
There was nothing to like. Red light district area. Good location but bad public
The room was not clear, it was not dusted, I had to call the staff to clean the massive spider we above our heads, nothing was dusted. Full of insects. We had to kills a big cockroach in our own room
The workers at the hotel are some of the kindest people I've EVER met. They even offered to take our heavy bags up 2 flights of stairs since there's no elevator. The room is nice and clean, and it has everything one might need. Great location.
The hotel is pretty tiny and it and doesn't have an elevator, which could be inconvenient for someone with a big luggage
Very nice, Japanese-style room. The provided futon was comfortable and the bathroom was nice and clean. Staff was kind and helpful. Close to Shinjuku station
The hotel's in the centre of Kabukicho, so a pretty shady neighbourhood, especially at night when it gets very lively. Not the best place to stay with kids I suppose
The hotel is located in the heart of Shinjuku, between night clubs and busy streets but is a a point where quite small alleys converge almost making it extra quiet for a good night's sleep! The staff is extremely polite and helpful - so kudos to the brilliant hospitality - and the rooms are traditional style with tatami mats and futon beds which is beautiful! Totally reccomended and an absolute value for money. Bonus : we were able to leave our luggage till 20:00 in the evening, though our checkout was in the morning of that day, no problem.
The rooms are traditionally made and styled, but a little bit rough on the edges. We really loved the whole setting and did NOT have any problems with that (it felt almost like part of the aesthetics!), but it could seem strange to others. The only thing that seemed a bit off, was a light odour at the small lobby. Apart from that everything was wonderful!
All travellers should avoid to book or stay at this place. Location while unsafe, lot of junkies during the night, both rooms we stayed were unexceptionable, dusty and dirty. Not worth in monies whatsoever.
Convenient location, budget friendly, decent and clean room size, 24/7 helpful staff and daily towel change/rubbish removal. 10-15 mins walk from Shinjuku station depending on which line you need. A short stroll into Shinjuku and multiple konbinis around.
Clean but outdated with wear and tear and a slightly musty smell. The bedding in the traditional rooms was uncomfortable, the futon mats were the thinnest we experienced on our trip and resulted in pretty poor sleep. Although we didn’t mind, those who are sensitive to noise might not like the fact that it’s in the thick of the kabukicho host clubs so there is some drunken noises throughout the night.
Close to a station.
Quite an old building and everything was quite small, e.g staircase, bath/shower and sink (luckily for my Mum and I we are both very small). The toilet was seperate from the bathroom, which we found odd.
The hotel had very friendly staff, and the room was always tidy when requested. The washroom was decent.
The room usually stayed cold after attempting to change the temperature. The hotel is located in an area that can get pretty noisy at night. The room also seemed a bit dingy.
Conveniently located. Outside the streets were busy but it was reasonably quiet inside the room.
The tatami bed liners were old and covers were torn.
Traditional style, friendly staff
Unclean doors (weird brown stains dripping down from door access points in room), could feel the floor through the futon style mattress.
Hotel is worth it the money.. it is about 10-15 mins walk to shinjuku station east gate exit , along the way you will see lots of shopping stores like don quixote etc and restos lining up the streets towards the hotel .. facilities are okay except that it has only small sink in the toilet so you cannot put your toiletries They clean the room every day
Bed is futon but comfortable No elevator Small shower room
The location is amazing. 10-15mins away from shinjuku station. Staff were friendly and room was huge.
Good bedding , good mattress, pillow and blanket. Good amenities. Overall good place to feel how is to sleep in a Japanese style.
Needs some TLC. There were some cracks in the walls and floor. Small tv. Need a shower curtain because water going everywhere. You have to leave the key at the reception desk every time you leave the place.
