    Pros +

    • good location, very close to the station, good price
    • Clean room; clean bathroom and toilet with free shampoo and sopa; free laundry and 100 yen for a 30-minute dryer.Hostel has common kitchen and space for leaving luggages with lock.Reception staff is available from 7am until 12 midnight.Accessible restaurants and kombini. Good train access but still a little far to be honest :p
    • The room is small but has all the basic amenities. It’s close to the train station and a supermarket. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

    Cons -

    • - No lift (I know this) so it's advisable to travel light. - Room was not soundproof so you'd hear footsteps and loud door banging (some guests are not considerate enough in opening and closing their doors - unfortunately)
    • The blanket seemed a little dusty when I shook it, but overall the room was clean and comfortable. If your suitcase is heavy, note that the room is on the second floor, so carrying it up might be a bit tiring. There are rooms on the first floor, but you may need to ask or book early. It’s perfect for 1–2 people, but a bit tight for 3.
    • It was dirty, had no sink to wash dishes except bathroom. Only supplied single little towel person and we have longer hair. The room was very humid and towels never dried.

Location was good and so was the hot water and water pressure

The place is located very comfortable, far from noisy street and not far from the metro station. It was very suitable for staying at night and at day walk in Tokyo. The room is small but still has everything that you could need.

I would say noise cancelling is bad. I could clearly hear what was happening behind the closed door.

The air conditioner is cold and the room is comfy..

The insulation of the room is a little bit not good, but I believe it could be improved in the future.

I was really impressed by how spacious the room was, especially for the price in Tokyo! Everything we needed was provided in the room, and I enjoyed the chance to stay in a place with a futon. The laundry area is located outside, which is great because it keeps the room quiet even when doing laundry. The host was incredibly helpful, they assisted us with luggage storage and explained how to use the luggage delivery service. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay.

The laundry area being outside means it has limited hours, so it’s not available for use late at night.

Great location (close to exit C or D of Ikebukuro Station - around 5-10 mins walk, no worries about lugging luggage around, there is an elevator close to the exit) Daily housekeeping/new sheets - very impressive for the priceGreat price and generously spacious room provided. The communal kitchen and showers were stocked for travelers. Commendations for staff for being multilingual for guests

I had to remove a point as the walls are a bit thin so it can be noisy/disruptive for your sleep. Light sleepers bring ear buds. Notably, to help with guests there is a luggage lift to upper floors. Unfortunately, some guests forget to close the lift doors after receiving their luggage causing the lift door open alarm to be switched on around 6am in the morning. The alarm doesn't stop until doors are closed so I had to lumber downstairs to turn it off; I hope the hosts find a solution to prevent this in future.

Good value for money room that was the perfect size imo for a solo traveler as compared to the dorms or capsule style hotels I was living at most of my trip and was overall a very clean and comfortable experience Great location being only less than a minute's walk from the station exit, close to many food options nearby and very walkable (~8m?) to the primary Ikebukuro city area.

Unfortunately, I got the 4th floor room which made it slightly annoying to leave or go back to my room every time despite there being a luggage elevator. Especially with the laundry area being outside between the main and secondary buildings. The water pressure and temperature control for the shower were also kind of questionable but good thing is that you only share the shared toilet area with 2 other rooms

Great location. Right near train. Lots of 7-11 and family mart nearby. Many restaurants to choose from. Washer Dryers available for guests.

    Dated TV.

So clean and comfortable! This was our first stop on our trip and the staff was so kind. The location is great, lots of yummy food around and easy access to the train station. We highly recommend!

Great location (easy 15 min walk to Mutekiya in case you want to go late at night) that is not in an overly busy area, which is nice to come home to after a day of exploring. There's a luggage lift that meets you up at the floor you're at so you don't have to carry your luggage up the stairs. Clean rooms and bathroom area. Check in and check out process is easy. There is a shoe rack at the entrance and house slippers for all guests to enforce cleanliness. They easily let us self-store our luggage with locks before and after check in.

Not necessarily a complaint, but more of a heads up: Our room was a small/tight area with minimal hooks or shelves for storage, so we essentially had to put our luggage in the corners and be a bit more mindful with opening our luggage and where we put our things. However, this is a small "inconvenience." I was mostly out exploring for hours for my first time in Tokyo anyways. We were so tired from all the walking etc that it was so easy to knock out on the tatami mats and fluffy blankets. Minor detail but my brother noticed a musty smell but it could have been because we arrived in the rain so there was some humidity that couldn't get ventilated out.

    10AmyPosted on: 5-9-2025

Convient location, had all the necessities. I wasn't sure how comfortable the tatimi mats with the futons were gonna be at first but I slept well on them

Room is definitely on the small side, the 3 person room had enough space to maybe open 2 luggages at once while fully blocking walking paths, but for the price wasn't a huge deal.

    10NorashikinPosted on: 4-23-2025

Very good location, easy access, clean property, safe surrounding, super friendly staff, nice neighbourhood, nearby convenience store and diner, short walk to Ikebukuro Station, walking distance to malls, shops, offices and retails.

    Nil.

we love staying in the quiet neighborhood, stay in house ikkebukuro is like a home for uswish we will be back again love the laundry machine and the dry machine :) . i paid 300yen for 1.5 hour drying and its perfect dryi also love the idea to lock up our suitcase outside the room, since the room is quite small :)tatami is always the best for us :) no pillow and mattress issues at all

no near bus airport shuttle to narita , haneda onlysince we find quite difficult bring big luggages using train/metro instead of bus

    5NadchenPosted on: 4-11-2025

I liked the location, it was not too far away from the station. And it was close to the bus stop that takes us directly to the Narita airport. That was nice. It was not hard to find direction-wise. Checking in was easy. Beds and provided bedding were comfortable. Showers had shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided. Accommodation was affordable for us. Sinks were very accessible and in multiple areas on the second floor.

We booked the Economy rooms and we had large suitcases, so we had to carry them up and down the very narrow staircase. If I had known about the elevator in the newer section, I would've reserved there or requested to stay on the first floor because of our belongings. Rooms were very small, but that's common here. We had a group of 3 and I couldn't open my suitcase fully on the floor. I thought our room would be more spacious from the pictures I saw, but I probably saw the Standard room.

The easy walk from the train station and the convenience of access to Shibuya etc. Quieter part of Ikebukuro yet great little restaurants and 7 Eleven nearby and easy to get to the busier areas of Ikebukuro. This was where we stayed for two nights when we first arrived in Tokyo. It was easy to get to from the airport even as novices to the train system and we liked the traditional Japanese style accom as our first introduction into Japan. Has a little fridge, private bathroom and there was a common area in the entry with cold water station and more fridges, I think there may have been a microwave too. For 3 girls with big suitcases it was also a manageable space.
