    Pros +

    • The staffs are very helpful and friendly. Shower is super strong with good flow of hot water. Bed is comfortable and clean
    • Quiet, clean, friendly staff, convenient location, and affordable price. Close to major train stations, convenient stores, and shopping.
    • We chose this place in Ueno because it was in a quiet neighborhood. This was our experience. Although it was quiet, it was very convenient as there is a busy market nearby, and it is very near the Ueno station. The staff at the hotel were all very friendly and accommodating.

    Cons -

    • Sound proofing is not the best but not much disturbance until early in the morning. Not sure if it is everywhere in Tokyo but is odd to leave the key with the front desk when leaving the hotel during the day.
    • The room is small but that is expected for this price in Tokyo.
    • Our American bodies had a hard time with the futons. We had a Japanese style room elsewhere on our travels and found the futons to be more comfortable there. The futons at this hotel were thinner and harder than what we would consider to be comfortable. However, we were tired from sightseeing every night, so we still slept well.

    Friendly staffs, location

1 pillow provided, preferred 2 pillows.

    Great cleanliness, location, price

-The fridge wasn't cold. I'm not sure it was on at all. -A second table would be helpful

We loved the traditional style rooms. The staff was very helpful with our many questions, as it was our first time in Japan. The hotel services were quite good and accessible. We loved to the quick access to the train station and parks.

Due to the limited washer/dryer facilities, it might be good to have a clothes drying rack.

We chose this hotel because it was the cheapest and closest to the station along the Narita Skyliner. The staff were nice and let us keep our bags after checkout. TV & complimentary yukata included.

Restroom is in bad condition- the wall was peeling off and the mirror was quite damaged. Compared to the pictures, very outdated. Very small. Not worth the ¥16,000 at all, but due to the increase in tourism, locals suffer with the overpricing…

Close to the Ueno station. No frills hotel, safe, clean with a helpful staff.

    10TatPosted on: 12-29-2025

The location is close to Ueno Station. The room is sufficient size for solo traveler and is kept clean daily. There are washer and dryer in hotel. They allow you to store luggage at their hotel for a few days for free if you leave Tokyo and return to their hotel for stay. Staff is friendly and helpful.

There is a slight moldy smell in the room because of moisture from shower. However, they provide fragrance spray in the room which helps. The staff’s English ability is limited but they are friendly and with Google Translate that is not a problem.

    10KristinaPosted on: 12-28-2025

The room was much bigger than expected. It had two beds and a sofa but still had room for our luggage. We only stayed one night but loved the location. I’d stay here again the next time I come to Tokyo for sure.

You have to leave your key at the front desk when you leave which is a little strange but no big deal.

Clean. They change towels everyday. Has coin laundry. Near train station.

Guests cannot go to your room.

Japanese style room is too small for four.

I really enjoyed having my own room! It was so nice to spread out after bouncing around from hostel to pod to guesthouse. The room was very clean and quiet, and I was happy to have the bathroom right outside of my room. For the price, it was a good value because other places were charging almost the same amount but sharing a room with 3+ other people.

I found it really odd to turn in my room key every time I left the building. I understand the desire to conserve energy, but maybe they could just use a master key to access the room? It wasn't the end of the world, but it was strange that I had a fridge in the room, and yet it was turned off after I left and I didn't notice until I returned. I couldn't drink the smoothie I had left in there because of it. Again, not a dealbreaker, but just not what I'm used to. The hotel is also a little far away from the main attractions in Tokyo, so I'm not sure if I would stay there again. But it was still a nice stay overall!

Not much! It was kind of grungy.

My room even though it was expensive didn’t have a window to see out. No air or ventilation so it smelled most. Really disappointed.

Kind hosts! I dropped off my luggage early and when my room was ready, they put my luggage in my room! The room was clean and comfortable, and laundry facilities were great and affordable.

I have stayed here twice now and I will be back again next year the area is very quiet and at the same time very close walk to train stations, ameyoko market and Akihabara. Love this area and the staff are always very kind and helpful.

    Good location

Worn and carpet not clean. Bathroom smelled musty.

    9ChenPosted on: 11-9-2025

Clean room and washroom. Liked having the luggage storage after check out.

Was a tight space both in the room and bathroom, but was fine for a short stay.

    10WanPosted on: 10-25-2025

The location is excellent. Just 5 minutes walk to Ueno Station. It is a cozy hotel with everything you need for the stay. The room size is considered big for Tokyo standards. Able to open up 2 big luggage to pack. Close to 7-11.

There are only 1 washing machine and 1 dryer which can be a little inconvenient. But there’s a laundromat 5 minutes walk away which is very clean but more expensive than the one provided at the hotel. Also have to hand over the keys to the reception whenever you head out and collect it when you return.

Fantastic location just a few minutes from Ueno Park. Room was the perfect size for 1 person. Overall very comfortable stay with friendly staff.

Walls are on the thin side so I did hear some of the other guests during the night.
