HOTEL MYSTAYS Higashi-Ikebukuro

The location.

There were a few problems with this hotel but none so bad as its internet. It constantly dropped and was too slow to accomplish basic tasks like checking e-mail or using google maps. That significantly impacted our ability to plan and enjoy our vacation.

Room was clean. Hotel is located close to Otsuka and Ikebukuro station having lots of things to do. Reception staff was very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is pretty solid. I managed with the space I had to myself as a single person with 2 suitcases. Room was clean, bathroom was great, staff were great, washer and dryer was excellent, I don't really have anything bad to point out. One thing I really love about this hotel chain is that you do not have to worry about mandatory cleaning policy every few days in the morning. I do not like having my sleep disturbed especially if I am sleeping until the afternoon so this hotel has allowed me to get my best sleep! If you want to have new bedsheets and towel, you go to the front desk. Great hotel but it can be tight if your 2 people together.

I have slept on a lot of beds and read reviews where people have said they are too firm and the pillows being hard. Most of the time, I have been sleeping on them no problem. But this bed is actually firm. I felt like my body was not sinking into the bed. It was a little uncomfortable but I always woke up fine and rested. If I had to stay at this hotel again, I wouldn't mind it. I just wish the bed was less firm.

I loved everything about the hotel I genuinely did like my stay . The staff were very friendly and helpful . They do take luggage services and the hotel room is bigger than I expected despite it being a “small” room .

The only thing i disliked is having to walk 8-10 minutes up and down a hill if you wanna take the Yamamoto line and the restroom doesn’t have that much ventilation so if you take a #2 it kinda just smells odd for a bit . But overall enjoyed our stay

The location of the hotel was very cute, we liked the neighborhood and proximity to public transportation. The room was clean and a good size.

The room could’ve been better updated, and the walls of the hotel are a bit thin. You can hear other guests when in your personal room.

The room looked small in picture but when I got there, the room was just right and had enough space to move around even with our luggage opened. The bed was also comfy. Staff were very accommodating and friendly.

It’s a bit of a walk from Otsuka Station.

Little far from the station but for the price is OK. Close to nice sento and in front of a Seven Eleven

The room is a bit small but it is consider normal in Tokyo. The room is very clean and comfortable.

It was a clean room and had all the creature comforts with convenient location.

It was a bit small and stuffy at times with windows facing the gas station.

location is strategically good , near jr station and there are a lot of restaurants and pubs nearby

Location. Friendly staff. Laundry facilities.

Need more closet space. Or larger space to hang clothes. House cleaning should be included at no additional cost.

We accidentally booked a smoking room, and that was our mistake. However, the room was very dirty. The duvet cover was all stained, we had to clean the vent in the bathroom ourselves because everytime we opened the door, dust would fall on top of us. Being a smoking room, the fire sprinkler was all covered in dust and some sticky layer. It was our mistake to accidentally book an smoking room, but it should have been clean at least.

Great place to stay and excellent price. Close to train station, restaurants, Family Mart, and 7Eleven. Great customer service. The room it is average size for a japanese hotel room, and it has enough space to walk around. I loved that they have a mini fridge and microwave in the room. Also, I was able to leave my carry-on with reception before the check in and after the check out to continue exploring the city.

Great rooms, facilities and staff. Easy to get to metro also.

Not much to say here

The location of this facility was great, right infront of a 7eleven. The staff was very helpful they spoke English and even helped us forward our luggage to the next location. The room was very clean and had AC. The bed was a full bed so it was a little tight for two people but over all it was a nice and affordable place to stay.

Just having the small bed for two people but many hotels in japan have small rooms so although it's small it was still enjoyable to stay there.

The hotel has Laundry/ dryer machine w/ coin machine for detergent & softener. Money exchange machine, drink vending machine, airport luggage delivery service. Available umbrellas were also a plus! This was our 1st time in Japan and we definitely enjoyed our stay after a long day of Being out! It was also close by the train station with a 7’11 just across the hotel! The room space was also big enough for our luggage.

Cleanliness , staff , self service , eater dripping from the AC . Rooms smells bad

The hotel provides all the basic things you need.

I stayed in a room with a mini kitchen but it truly was mini with no space to prepare food or even put the cookware. They provide the cookware but since it is so awkward to do anything, I basically gave up on preparing anything in the room. It would have a bit more counter space. It was not worth the price to stay in the room with a kitchen. The hotel is also located in front of a bigger street with a fire station nearby so you hear the sirens rather frequently.
