Hotel Villa Fontaine Tokyo-Ueno Okachimachi

Location and price are very convenient, just a short walk from shin-okachimachi station.

Toilet bidet had poor nozzle position and is not adjustable.

Location was great, close to three train stations, plenty of shops and restaurants. Staff is excellent, great customer service. Room was spacious with individual air conditioner/heating.. Hotel lobby was nice, plenty of space to relax.

The hotel's regular and memory foam pillows are both hard and uncomfortable. Only two washer/dryers available which is not enough for a hotel of this size. Coin laundry is a 10 min taxi ride.

Hotel was well setup with easy check in and check out via the large screens and with help from the staff. The location had good amenities available for free.

The room was not big enough for 2 beds. There was barely a walking path to get to the window, really no location to put stuff (table\counter), and a lack of power outlets, and the ones they had were inconvenient for charging.

Very clean and staff were very efficient, close to where we needed to go.

It is quite close to Akihabara, which makes it convenient to explore the area and return to the hotel without having to comute.Rooms can be considered large by Japanese standards.

The pillow is uncomfortable and the hotel lacks some maintenance in terms of the finishes of the room, since there are worn walls that could be repaired.

Hotel staff were very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Room was nice and clean. We appreciated the complimentary available skin care and toiletries.The free WiFi and air conditioning worked well. The eco-cleaning was convenient. We also liked that the hotel was non-smoking.The lobby area was easy to use with helpful considerations, like charging outlets, hot water, laundry, and a vending machine. The seating was comfortable and clean.

It's about a 10-15 walk to the more major train stations, but the neighborhood is lovely and nice to walk through.

Such a great hotel, located in a great spot close to multiple JR lines, walkable to Akihabara, Ueno park and Senso-ji, staff were amazingly helpful everytime and always had a smile on their faces! Would absolutely stay again, no hesitations!

Pillows were a little uncomfy but not unbearable. Beds were on the firmer side which may not suit some people but we liked it just fine!

Great location in central tokyo - it was very easy to get to a number of train stations within 15 minutes of walking, The room was small but comfortable, and we ended up getting a room facing the skytree which was a really pretty sight

It was somewhat difficult to get around the room because we had larger pieces of luggage which took up a lot of space

Not the most convenient or comfortable hotel

The bathroom had a mildew-sewage smell and poor ventilation. Additionally the room was really dusty and there were a lot of stains on the walls. On the first night my hotel bath towel smelled so sour, I could not use it (However the following nights the new towels smelled fine). Myfriend’s bed blanket was discolored to an almost yellow-color. Also there isn’t much space (if any) to open your luggage comfortably, which is expected for a hotel in Japan. The hotel is not really convenient in terms of nearby stations (Especially if you have large luggage). I found that you either had to walk 10-13 minutes to get to Ueno Okachimachi or walk 6 minutes to Shin-Okachimachi and take Oedo Line & transfer to Ueno station. Although this could have been better planned on our end, if you’re worried about going to stations with your luggage, this isn’t really the best hotel (it is manageable but not ideal).

Good service

10 min walk to the nearest metro station. Far if traveling with luggage. Rooms are a bit cramped and no daily bed sheets replacements. Breakfast is expensive

Helpful staff and easy check in. It has everything you need. Airconditioning in the room and options for if you want your room serviced which I like as I often think it is wasteful.

Room a bit smaller than it appeared in the photo but was still comfortable. Not many coffee or food places in the area to wander to but there is a 7/11 a 5 minute walk away which saved the day. Location was not quite as good as I originally thought as the nearest station (5 min walk) doesn't have as many convenient connections as I hoped. 2 other stations a 10 minute walk do though so not bad but when it was raining or late at night it felt far away. That was on me as I only checked a few connections.

Clean, proximity to Shin-Okachimachi station and friendly helpful staff were good points for this older hotel. The nearest three 7-11 convenience stores, which have ATM machines, are proximately two blocks on foot.

The hotel room was clean but the bathroom had a slight odor of mold. The other thing I did not like was the hard bed. It was very stiff.

I liked the layout of the twin single room. It was nice to have a couch. We used the side table as a bedside table, which was more practical. I liked the big windows had a nice view. The fridge and microwave were useful. I liked the smoking facility downstairs. It was good to have coffee, toothbrush etc. The location was great, close to stations and shopping.

The beds could have been more comfortable but were ok. Another pillow would have been nice. There was not a lot of room for large luggage.

Not a very good location, 20 min walking to ueno station, hard to do with luggage and no restaurants or convenience stores close.
