Its is right next to Itabashi JR station, with direct line to Shinjuku and Shibuya so it's very convenient. Breakfast was limited but still acceptable.
The room was relatively small. 2 single beds were placed side by side with no space between. We 2 ppl with 4 luggages struggled to move around the room
Typical Japanese business hotel so the room isn’t flashy but has all the necessities. This hotel is immediately adjacent to the Itabashi station which gets you to Shinjuku in about four stops. The beds are comfortable and the water pressure is amazing.
Convenient location to Saikyo line and short rides to Ikebukuro and Shinjuku are a plus. The personell is clearly overwhelmed with the job, leading to long waits and lacks any display of hospitality that you would expect for an APA hotel. This isnt an issue of language.
Super friendly and helpful staff and very close to the station.
I wish the AC was a bit colder
Location, clean, facilities surrounding hotel
Room size is small, but twin-bed room helps a lot for accommodating 2 guests in the room
I like the location of the hotel. However, the staffs were a bit rude to me during my check out. The breakfast options could have been more.
The bad was really comfortable
Room little bit small and walls are dirty
The room
Trouble with the check-inn with Booking.com.40 minutes check-in process !!! To finish to call me 2 time in my room to come back.Endless
The location is definitely a plus. A few steps away from Itabashi station, which is only 2 stops away fromShinjuku. There are konbini and drug stores nearby.
Refillable water not provided. You will need to purchase from the vending machine on ground floor. Also, the building is a little old, and it’s showing its age. The best wasn’t the comfiest either.
The bathtub in the rooms are bigger than some other APA hotels I've stayed at before. Room size in the bed area is the same as other APA hotels, but is more than enough. The breakfast buffet was good for the price on the 3rd floor, which if you stay on has a direct connection. The laundromat wasn't always busy. hotel is literally right next to JR East Saikyo Line station East Exit. It's really easy to ride. Views of the train track and platform are available at this hotel on the 3rd floor.
The rooms are smaller than typical American rooms, but they're comfortable and clean which makes it not so bad for solo travelers or frugal families/couples. I speak Japanese, but the staff didn't really do too well with my family who speak only English. They didn't do anything bad or disrespectful, but we had to use google translate.
The hotel location was grate. Close to train station and easy, quick access to most of Tokyo's area. The hotel clean, and the stuff polite and kind.
The double bed was uncomfortable, and too small. The double room size was incredibly small. It's seams same as standard single room size or less. There is no designated smoking area inside even outside the hotel.
I loved how close the train station was, and that everything was easily accessible.
I didn't like the limit of movies to watch. I understand they are free to watch but if there was one bad thing about this awesome place that would be it.
Breakfast
Parking was expensive and limitedInability to obtain receipt at end of stay
APA Itabashi Ekimae was a very convenient location for our travels around Tokyo. Just one stop away from Ikebukuro, the Saikyo line from Itabashi station was less than a 2 minute walk from our hotel, and there are a variety of late night shops and restaurants nearby to help with those midnight cravings after stepping off the subway for the night. The beds were very cosy and you could easily sink into them.
There are a few small nitpicks that I would address to would be trravellers to this location. The air-conditioning is centrally managed at this APA, not sure if this is the standard, but that means that you will NOT be able to use the thermostat to control the heat to your preferences. At most, you can reduce the heat in the room by opening the window, but not being able to control your room to your needs is a solid negative for me.This next one is less of a negative to those that can sleep soundly, but the proximity to Itabashi station has the downside of being.... very close to the tracks. Depending on which rooms you get, its possible that your window will be facing the train tracks, which can and WILL blast the station theme throughout the day as trains arrive and depart. Great for train enthusiasts! But, can definitely be detrimental to those that are light sleepers and wake easily.Do note that APA generally has the rule of room cleaning for hygiene reasons every three days. This is non-negotiable, and will be done whether or not you agree to room cleaning or not. Should also note that there is no safe inside the hotel, so valuables will need to be secured in your luggage, which might not always be convenient for travelers.Lastly, this might just be due to where our room was in the facility, but I felt that some parts of the room felt dated, whether it was the pretty dusty vents on the ceiling, the slight peeling of the wallpaper around the bathroom door, or the odd sewage smell coming from our bathroom drains. I would generally raise more of a fuss at these things, but none of them were singularly bad enough to make me complain, just be aware that you could experience any of the above things if you book here!
the location it's great! it feels a bit far but there are so many connections! very close to ikebukuro and Shinjuku, so its handy to move around, cheap, clean and great location.
cleaning bags noises at all time made it a bit hard to rest.
Itabashi holds a special place for me, as this is our constant place of stay whenever we are in Japan. However, this is the first time that I stayed in APA. For our 10 day stay, it was within easy reach of the train station, and we have a lot of restaurants and convenience stores nearby. The staff were also respectful and amazing during our stay.
Having seen some video reviews, I was aware about the space constraints. The space was very limited for two people and 2-3 large luggages. The walkway from our room to the bed was just enough to open one suitcase at a time. Because of the space constraints, we had to lay out all our folded clothes on the vanity table as this is the only way for us to access them easily.
Newr the Itabashi Station
The coin laundry at APA Hotel in Itabashi feels like stepping back in time to 2010. The washer and dryer units are outdated and inefficient, making the process unnecessarily time-consuming and costly. It took us four hours to finish washing and drying, and even then, the dryer failed to fully dry thick clothing items like sweaters and jeans. Despite spending 400 yen per load for the dryer, the results were underwhelming. Ultimately, we had to hang our clothes in the room for two days to air-dry before heading home. The condition of the hotel itself didn’t help matters. The carpet smelled old and musty, suggesting a lack of proper maintenance. Similarly, the toilet facilities were dated and added to the overall impression of a property in need of an update. While APA Hotel is known for its convenience, the outdated facilities in this location detract significantly from the experience. If you’re planning a stay here, especially for longer trips, be prepared for these inconveniences.
