Very convenient to shopping, restaurants and not too close to station, so it is quiet at night. Very helpful staff.

Restaurant at hotel is expensive, but as stated lots of good restaurants at a variety of prices nearby.

The hotel is beautiful with helpful staff and is extremely close to both the station and an outdoor shopping area with lots of good food, entertainment, and shopping options.

There were a few stray hairs that weren't mine on the bathroom floor.

The staff was excellent; they were kind, accommodating, and went out of their way to make sure our stay was comfortable.

This was my first time in Japan, and stayed in 4 places. Excel Hotel made me feel welcome and at home. They speak English, even as my sons speak Japanese, and they were really helpful, especially on departure, the front desk assisted us with taxi and spoke to the drivers, so it was painless.

You are perfect, for people who are visiting.

Mr. Tatewaki was exceptionally pleasant—warm, welcoming, and thoroughly professional. He went out of his way to ensure we felt comfortable and at home throughout our stay. Although the room was smaller than what we are accustomed to in the United States, it was impeccably clean and thoughtfully equipped with everything I needed and more.

The hotel was excellent. Kichijoji is a busy suburb with crowded sidewalks and a huge array of shops and restaurants. It's not a tourist area but we really enjoyed staying in this neighborhood. The hotel is well run and is a good choice for both tourism and business. The morning buffet was outstanding and highly recommended. The room was clean and comfortable. I carelessly left my wedding ring in the hotel room when I checked out. The hotel staff kindly helped me retrieve it. I paid for shipping on the DHL website, arranged for pickup at the hotel, and emailed the shipping label to the hotel front desk. They packed the lost item and gave it to the DHL agent. Please check your room carefully when you leave! The hotel staff are very kind and helpful but it would be better to not impose on them like this.It's an easy walk to Kichijoji rail station with direct access to Shinjuku and Tokyo (on the Chuo line) and Shibuya (on the Inokashira line). On the Chuo line, you can upgrade to the Green Car using a machine on the platform. This gets you a seat on a double-decker train car and is a better tourist experience than standing in a crowd of passengers. Put your IC card in the machine and select the destination, board the special carriage (see platform markings), then tap the IC reader above your seat to turn the light green.You can walk to the Ghibli Studio Museum through scenic Inokashira Park. Tickets are in high demand and you won't get in without advance planning. Tickets go on sale at 10 am JST on the 10th of each month for entry the following month. You need to be online as the deadline time approaches to enter a queue to buy tickets. There's detailed advice online and many recommend using multiple browsers to improve your chances.We also took a bus from near the station to Jindaiji Temple and Botanical Gardens, a local favorite. A great stay.

We have stayed at the Kichijoji Excel Hotel Tokyu multiple times and have enjoyed the facilities, staff and location each time. This time, the room size was quite adequate and quiet, beds were very comfortable, lighting very good, tv fairly large, bathroom very nice. Staff very responsive. Location is excellent: close to train station, restaurants, dept stores and shops.

We had problems this time with the Air Control - could not get sufficient warm air at the times we wanted for 2 of the 4 days we stayed. Staff did their best to adjust.

Great location in Kichijoji! My room was clean and spacious (for Japan standards), and I enjoyed the included breakfast. All staff were friendly.

The window towards the lobby so the ventilation was not really good. Besides there is always noise from lobby. The bathroom had a wet smell like the towels hanging in a stuffy room.

I loved staying in Kichijouji. It has a great selection of restaurants and shops in the covered arcades, is 20-25 minutes away from Tokyo station, and is on the main Chuo line making very easy to return to Tokyo or Shinjuku stations. I thought this was going to be another business style hotel, but it was much more than that. Our "moderate twin room" had plenty of space and was very comfortable. the interior rooms that look into the main area are very quiet and comfortable and a suitcase I had shipped to the hotel had already been placed in our room when we arrived. There is a convenient and affordable coin laundry about a 6 minute walk away and there is a Family Mart convenience store very close by. The staff are so helpful and kind too. I would recommend this place and would stay here again for a longer stay in the Tokyo area.

There is nothing to dislike about this property. You will be very happy and satisfied to stay here.

The staff were great - I arrived early and they kept my luggage and recommended a really great local lunch place at the back of the hotel. Breakfasts at the hotel were good quality & fresh (salads, hot meals, fresh pastries, good coffee) in a lovely setting. I chose to stay here because central Tokyo was so packed with tourists and accommodation prices were crazy. This location was a nice alternative but still several major shopping areas and major stores, lots of great food options and some ramen places that feature in the annual Top 100. Nice vibe to walk in the streets at night. Felt safe as a solo female traveller.

I wish I could have stayed an extra night! (but was fully booked).

The breakfast was good and the room was comfortable. The AC was good.

The price could have been a little lower for 2 people, but it's a cute hotel.

The only pro about this hotel is the location.

The beds are so hard I left with bruises on my hips, the carpet was dingy and dirty, and most importantly, the room windows look out into the hotel lobby/breakfast area. This provides little privacy, also allowing more sound to move through the windows. One night we were there there was live music playing loudly when we just wanted to rest. Unfortunately it was a bad stay and I couldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.
