    Pros +

    • The friendly front desk staff (woman and younger man) were very helpful and patient with my questions. For genuine local cuisine, they recommended the nearby Tokyo Kokekokko Honpo Asagaya Shop which prepared excellent fresh sashimi right in front of me. I also loved exploring the colorful shops (including a cat bar) and winding streets at both night and day.
    • Location. Really convenient and lots of shops nearby. Love the skin care products provided!I left a pair of glasses behind in the room and when I contacted them, they sent them back to me promptly. Great customer service!
    • right next to the metro station, neighborhood is full of friendly shops.

    Cons -

    • WiFi could use a speed boost.
    • The building is old. The bathroom is run down and the washbasin in need of repair. We had a twin room which I think is overpriced for a budget hotel.

    The place is very convenient.

Even for Smile hotels, the rooms are small. But this is probably due to Tokyo. Perhaps a bit overpriced at the moment, as breakfast is not included/available, even compared to other Smile hotels.

This hotel is A1 for location as it’s situated right beside the station but we could barely hear the trains at all. Room was a little shabby but very clean and bed was comfortable. Staff were terrific, very friendly and welcoming. Asagaya was one of my favourite locations in Tokyo. Can’t wait to visit again.

Compared to other Tokyo hotels of this standard its nightly rate was higher than most other hotels we stayed at. I figure that’s because there’s little choice in this beautiful suburb of Tokyo.

It's a standard Japanese business hotel with a bathroom, bed, and tv. Check in was prompt and I was able to get a blanket in reception because I was a little cold. It's really close to the station.

The bathroom is a little cramped.

Great location. Friendly staff. Very clean.

Late check out of even 1 hr they charge.

Staff are delightful. When I stayed in September 2023, the room was very warm despite it being 10 degrees outside. We had the window open but still couldnt get the room to cool down.

This location is a hidden gem. Right next to the train station and it is so quiet, you can't hear the trains passing by. Next to alleys of awesome food joints and bars where the locals go to. There's a long street for shopping whatever you may need. Great location for food and drink.

The bathrooms could be a little cleaner.

This hotel is really close to Asagaya train station and some eateries. The beds are reasonably comfortable and check in and check out was prompt.

The rooms are somewhat cramped (this is a business hotel, after all), especially the bathrooms. It can get a little noisy in the middle of the night.

    8NPosted on: 10-24-2024

This is a fairly standard business hotel with some eateries nearby. The beds are fairly comfortable and although this is extremely close to Asagaya station, I didn't hear the train on either night. For Tokyo, it's reasonably cheap.

The rooms are a bit cramped for two people and the bathroom - although clean - is showing some wear and tear.

Friendly and helpful staff, great housekeeping, near train station.

Small bathroom, older rooms, dust in corners of the room.

    7StevenPosted on: 7-29-2024

Helpful staff, compact rooms good amenities especially the laundry room.

Bit of a strange system with the new towels on the door handles and bins in corridor system when you want them emptying.Train lines ran next to my room, so could hear them by 5amA little bit on the pricey side for what you get. Fridge and kettle but no complimentary water or tea/ coffee in the room. No English TV channels. The hardest concrete-like pillows I've ever encountered in my life. Luckily an alternative was found.Nice comfy place but don't get too excited.

The hotel is right beside Asagaya JR station and the neighborhood is lively, full of restaurants and shops. Staff are friendly and helpful. They also provide cleaning services and fresh toiletries everyday. I will stay here again when I return to Tokyo.

Not much to dislike. You can feel that the property is a bit outdated but it does not bother me since the pros outweigh the cons by a lot.

    9MaggiePosted on: 7-13-2024

The staff were friendly and always there to help. The room was quiet and had everything I needed, plenty of plugs, good air conditioning, it was clean and the bathroom was perfect. The location was a nice little area in Asagaya right off the station, which made travelling each day very easy.

The shower head would pop out of place at times and I wasn't sure how to fix it but no complaints at all really.

    8RoyaPosted on: 7-8-2024

Smile Hotel Asagaya is a pleasant hotel located in a cute neighborhood with lots of stores and cafes in the vicinity. It is very close to the JR station too. The hotel is clean and quiet, provides all amenities including skin and hair care products and bathrobes, and the room itself is clean and comfortable. The double twin room is fine for two people—it is small, which was fine, I only stayed overnight on my last day in Tokyo. If you’d prefer, I believe larger rooms are available too. The staff is very friendly and helpful too.

Room was small, but that is typical for Tokyo.

    6SollevantePosted on: 6-26-2024

Very close to the station and conveniently located on the Chuo Line. Pleasant neighborhood with many restaurants around.

The room was really tiny for two people, even for Japanese standards.

    10ChatterjeePosted on: 6-9-2024

Compact and clean rooms, location and proximity to the train station

    6KatrinaPosted on: 3-28-2024

    Location was very convenient

Room extremely small and there was a smell that I didn't like

    7EmaPosted on: 3-20-2024

Location is great, right by the station. Comfy beds and good amenities, robes, toothbrushes, etc. refrigerator and hot tea pot. Has a laundromat on the first floor. Plenty of places to eat close by in the neighborhood. Nice friendly section of Tokyo with plenty of shopping and good food.

I couldn't get the heat to go down so it was hot unless I opened the windows. I was right next to the train platform, but the sounds of the train weren't bothersome, and they don't run all night either.
