Pros +
- Great location, was right next to Senso-ji but the room was very quiet and peaceful. Would stay again!
- The boutique ryokan room had a spectacular view with charming decor, very comfortable bedding/bath/seating/bathing area. It definitely exceeded my expectations.
- I highly recommend this place. I had a wonderful stay! There’s a reason for the high rating. Everything was impeccably clean and all the amenities were very thoughtful. I stayed in a single room and it was absolutely perfect for me. I loved the mix of modern and traditional aesthetic. I also loved wearing the provided yukata. Best of all, the location is excellent. Close to the Senso ji shrine and close to trains. If this becomes available during the dates you visit Tokyo, book it! You will not regret it!
Cons -
- We were disappointed to find out there was no breakfast at the property as advertised. The chef was on vacation we were told.
- The inside of the hotel was peaceful and quiet, but the area outside was crowded and hectic, not my type.

very clean property with amazing location. Staff were very nice too.

The location was good. The staff were great. The Japanese breakfast was delicious. I love this place.
The ryokan was really nice—clean, quiet, and comfortable. The view from the window was beautiful, and the staff were polite, just a bit too strict with the rules.

Everything ! Rooms are wonderful, amazing location, very warm welcome
Super clean rooms, comfy futons, the staff provided extra care and hand drew a thank you card for me. Close to the food and shrines.
The hotel is perfectly located in the middle of a major tourist destination, yet once you cross the entrance it is calm, restful and whisper quiet. The staff are amazing - friendly, helpful and efficient. We had to move rooms during our stay and both rooms were immaculate and well thought out. Every detail has been considered. Guests need to be aware that the rooms are Japanese style, with tatami flooring - no shoes on the tatami and you will sit direct on the floor - which may not suit everyone. If you are interested in an updated Japanese hotel experience in the middle of the Asakusa district, you cannot do better.
We liked everything.
I didn't realize that the hotel was right next to a major attraction. It ended up being quite convenient. I could see the crowds outside my hotel window but did not hear any noise at all. I loved sleeping on a futon - it is what I sleep on at home - so I was quite comfortable. Also, I arrived super early - they held my bags for me and gave me maps of the neighborhood.
Most of the staff were very helpful but a couple not so much.
We loved our stay here. The room was perfect and the staff was super helpful and friendly. Everything was top notch. The hotel provided beautiful robes, snacks, water, and every toiletry you could need. The beds were comfortable. The location was in a great part of town, but was still quiet in the ryokan. We'd definitely stay here again.
Nothing. Our stay exceeded all our expectations.
Our stay at Kaminarimon Ryokan fully exceeded our expectations. It is a well-designed ryokan/hotel that bridges eastern and western design and comfort. You'll luxuriate in the robes and bath products while being exceptionally well taken care of by the staff.
The highlight was the kindness and conscientious treatment of the staff. They were extremely welcoming and attentive. The location and quality of the room were also stand outs. I highly recommend if you are looking to stay in the area.
Exceptional accommodation. My husband and I stayed in the tatami bed with a bathtub. The pictures truly don't do this place justice. The view of skytree from the windows, thoughtfully designed with sliding shade doors was absolutely gorgeous. Most notable were the courteous staff and cleaning. I notice every little detail. The walls, every corner was clean. The beds were made up perfectly and the bathroom was perfectly reset after every housekeeping visit like the hotel had just opened that day. I truly want to extend my gratitude to the staff and cleaning staff here. Additionally, the lighting in this room was so brilliantly designed. No harsh direct overhead lighting! This is the kind of place one can stay in from 1 night to 10+ comfortably!
Clean, aesthetically pleasing decor, comfortable. Staff were very friendly. Close to everything.
Perfect location on the Sensu-ji. The staff were so helpful and accommodating. The room was spacious and comfortable and had a really good view on the temple market.
Cleanliness , zen like feel and very polite customer service
Could not bring friends in the room
We stayed here our last 2 nights in Japan, and wished we’d stayed here the whole time we were in Tokyo. The staff here is so kind, professional and accommodating. The location right above the Nakamise shopping area could not have been more convenient, and there was remarkably no noise in our room in spite of directly overlooking it. The room itself was impeccably clean and well appointed, and the traditional beds were very comfortable. Everything you need is within a few blocks of this property - including the Asakusa station just a 4 minute walk away. I’d stay here again without question.
Location
No common space at all , AC did not work at first, difficult to use blinds to close at night ( no instructions) and staff did not speak any english so could not help. Only one pillow.
The Kaminarimon Ryokan is a gem in the heart of Asakusa. Everything was perfect from start to finish! The view from our room was incredible! We found the beds to be super comfortable and the room was clean and modern. The staff was wonderful and even mailed me something I had left behind. The Japanese-style breakfast was very special and delicious! I highly recommend the Kaminarimon Ryokan!
