The Shin-Okubo International Hotel

The hotel was a great place for the price. It was a little worn, but clean. We spent our days touring the area and the hotel was well situated for accessing trains to go where we wanted. It was a short walk to the busier area of Shinjuku, but quieter.

The pillows were small, and didnt provide much support, so they could be better. Also leaving the key behind was a little strange, but never a problem.

Location are good, bed is comfort

No bidet in my room. Minim facility also.

Locations is close to Shinjuku station area and therefore convenient for our visit to Tokyo. 7 Eleven is around the corner.Shinjuku has a great choice of restaurants in all price categories.Good, minimal accommodation at a good value to stay in this area.Although the Hotel and Annex are located in a very narrow street, road or people noise was minimal during the night.Good beds. Very clean.

Hotel needs repairs here and there, small plastic '80 style bathroom. Small rooms, low doorways (mind your head).No elevator.Very bright lights in room.

It seemed very old fashioned.. I was surprised there was no bidet.

The sitting area had a microwave, and nothing else. No plates or cutlery.

Amazing location! Room was pretty dated and carpet pretty dirty, but everything else was clean and the beds were super comfy. Check in and out was easy.

Great value if all you are looking for is a bed to stay the night while you are in Tokyo. There were no elevators and the amenities were pretty minimal. Cleaning is only done when requested, which I was not bothered by. We stayed during cherry blossom season and this was the only hotel that didn’t cost an arm and a leg, so I respect that.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. The location was great. The bed was comfortable, and the room and area was quiet. The wifi worked well and consistently.

The sloped ceiling meant that a third of a small room was unusable. The pillows were a mangled mess and the bathroom was very unpleasant and seemed to have stability and leakage issues. Everything is tired and run down, but you get what you pay for.

The room was a good value for price, up to expectations; it was clean, big enough, quite, just nice. I would stay there again.

Hotel location was super close to station within 6min walking distance.. Also can walk to Shinjuku area..The room was pretty decent & very affordable price

Excellent value for a big room in a fantastic relatively quiet location just a few blocks from the busier bustling areas of Shinjuku

Unfortunately no elevator in the annex building where I stayed but I suppose that keeps costs down so not a big negative for me.

Friendly staff. Dated but clean. Other guests were socializing in common area, a bit like a hostel.

The location is perfect and reallly convienience. just 4min walk to shin-okubo satation and 15min to shinjuku. staff are nice and english friendly.

The host was super responsive. late check-in's are allowed. The host responded to all our queries.

The hotel doesn't have a elevator. It was difficult for us to carry all our bags to the second floor. The sound proofing of rooms is terrible. You can hear toilet flushes from other rooms.

Mattress really uncomfortable, everything is old and not clean enough.

More its price, the rooms were really big enough and there was also a work desk which was really useful. Internet was also free. The best part is the location which was only 5 mins from the main JR Yamanote line. Shinjuku was also a leisurely 10 minute walk to. The shower was also really impressive as the water pressure was powerful.

The lack of a closet. However it’s not a deal breaker.

Very big room size and bathroom which was really nice. Also very friendly staff which helped us out with any requests we had. Very happy and highly recommended.
