Pros +
- The bed area was spacious
- Was close to railway station. Easy excess to wherever we went. Walking distance for shop and eat.
- Too scared to return of a day
Cons -
- The shower room had mold above. The toilet area is very tight. Also had a roach crawling on wall
- The toilet was very small, not enough space to get inside .
- Everything is quite run down. There's been no attempts at renovating the property over the years, so it's all quite poor. The original built in bed is still there with cigarette burns and who knows what else, so they've just topped it with a futon (which is actually too small).Bathroom had mold evident, so we had to go to bath houses around us instead.Whole place reeks of cigarette smoke.

The room itself is pretty big and you get a couch too. you definitely get what you paid for.Amenities are all provided like every hotel and it has good enough soundproofing.Staff is friendly at least. can easily communicate through google translateLocation is the best part of this hotel since it's next to a station.
Bed and couch not completely clean.Wifi is pretty bad.Toilet doesn't have bidet, and using pretty cheap toilet paper.
The staff were very friendly, and it is an older hotel. This meant the room had charm. It has electronics that are out of date, which I loved. The room was quiet at night.
I was happy to stay there. I am very easy to please, if you have unreasonable expectations, I don't think this is the hotel for you. Perhaps a chain hotel would be better for you.
Great location. Quiet area but still walkable to downtown Shinjuku. Room was large. Had table and chairs I could sit at and watch Japanese TV while drinking beer with my buddy.
Nothing of note. I’m not a fussy luxury queen.
Cheap.
Dirty, you could hear other people through the walls. You had to leave your key when you went out.
Excellent location. It is 3-min walk from Shin-Okubo station, which along the Yamanote line. It is also within 15 mins walk from Shinjuku centre and Kabuki-cho. It is super easy to go around and find good places to eat.The room I booked is quite spacious, which is hard to find in Tokyo!
The Wifi doesn’t work in the room. Because of that, although there is a screen and a projector, I couldn’t take advantage of them to watch a movie. The staff could speak only a little bit English - so they couldn’t really help with my Wifi, although I tried to use Google Translate to explain the situation. I asked for a non-smoking room but in the end, they gave me a smoking room (I double-checked with the staff at the reception, she told me it’s a non-smoking room but I found an ash tray on the dining table…).
I dont get the very bad reviews here. It's not top notch nor brand new, but the service is extremely friendly, the room doesn't miss anything out and we had a good stay
Very close to the city/station
Not very clean and had to leave key with hotel+hard to translate
Great location
Is a old construction, old abs damaged furnitures.
Convenient location and good staff. Decently priced too.
Outdated facilities and the bathroom was extremely small. And there was hair on our bed.
Perfect location, beautiful staff, cheap price for a decent sized room. Definitely coming back!
That we had to checkout 10am
Everything! May room was spacious good wifi good location great staff. Thank you City Hotel Dolphin
The room was big that is honestly the only nice thing. They did provide slippers for use while within the room after the genkan (the part of the room where you leave your outside shoes and switch to something else)
This was a love hotel, which in itself isn't a bad thing, this is more of a place to rest until the first train but for the price you would be better off paying hourly or going to a net cafe. The room was slightly dirty when we entered. there was a few pests that were dead but they were still in the room which was disheartening. The sheets were discolored and the bed as well. This was a place that we slept with the lights dim but still on (this was a sleep with one eye open kind of vibe). Although there was a shower and tub, the room overall was extremely dated.
The lad at the front desk was very helpful translating English to Japanese on her phone, very patient and kind! Once I got to my room I was pleasantly surprised with its spaciousness and cleanliness...its like a one bedroom apartment! Very thoughtful arrangement.
perfect location, quite, comfortable
The interiors were a little bit old.
This is a love hotel, so it was a little strange, but worked out just fine. The location is excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Well priced. The facility added good additions to the room, such as razors, toothbrushes, hairbrush, shower cap etc
Had alot of dust bunnies on light fittings and mould in the shower.Shower was very short and I would not call it a shower.
No breakfast the room was okay
Since we walked in the lobby smells of cigarettes it's a smoking hotel my room was a little less smelly of cigarettes than the lobby so I left windows open all the time bought air freshener spray and sprayed allot especially when we went out to get the smell out
