Hotel New Ueno

The hotel is located literally right outside Ueno station (via the Asakusa exit), and it's not far from the restaurants and shops in the area.

It's a tiny room — which I didn't mind, because it meets my expectations of a business hotel — but guests with a lot of luggage with them may want to keep this in mind.

The hotel is literally outside the station which is super convenient. They accept late check-in and they also allow luggage storage even before and after you check in and check out. The staff are friendly as well :)

The flush on our room is working but not able to flush everything in one go. You have to flush a few times.

The location is great. But that's about it.

The room was super small and we could barely walk around. And no place to put luggage.

The proximity to the train station and the air conditioning were the best parts of this hotel.

It was extremely small and difficult for three people. The carpet was not very clean especially in the corners and under the desk area. The price compared to other rooms in Tokyo was not a good value.

To be fair, it did say in the online description of the room that the bed was narrow, "47 inches wide". Unfortunately, we didn't take the hotel's warning seriously, and we booked the room for 2 people. Probably we should have known when we checked in, and there was only one pillow on our bed, and one towel and washcloth in the bathroom. For one person, the room would've been fine. The fact that they are renting that tiny room to couples, with basically only a single bed, doesn't seem like a good idea. We didn't sleep well, at all, as the bed was just too small for us. Next time, we'll be more careful when booking rooms.

The traditional Japanese breakfast was healthy and excellent.

Standard Japanese businessman hotel. Hotel was conveniently located just outside of the station and within walking distance. Room was acceptable for 2 people without children although slightly small. Reasonable value for the money. Location selected for shopping convenience, food options, and access to Keisei Skyliner.

Only Japanese style breakfast items offered.

The room was filthy. I am not high maintenance, as long as the room is clean, I’m happy. This room was the dirtiest, smelliest room i have ever experienced. Mold growing on the AC unit.

It’s much smaller than the description photo. Can hardly open the large luggage in a room. The facilities are quite old.

We arrived in Tokyo late, but had a super early departure to the Snow, so something close to Ueno station was perfect. And this is close. Great rooms either way all the amenities. Perfect to have explore the area for if you are catching the Shinkansen. Ueno is easier to navigate than the main station.

This hotel is well located and the staff are very professional.

The price is too high for the nature of this hotel.

I loved the tatami room! The room was spacious and the staff was very friendly. It was nice to have tea in the room and the location was the best! Right next to the train station and walking distance to a ton of restaurants. The location was the best thing about this property.

It can get a little loud because it’s in a busy area but not that bad.

Location is right next to Ueno station Asakusa exit 9. Very convenient

I had a room on the back side of the building and the window was not greatly soundproof so there was a lot of noise in the evening. It was weekend though so it was busier than normal. Even though i slept like a puppy
