Good value for money you pay especially if you are solo traveler. It’s not hostel and you have your own bathroom to use.

Very small. That’s why it cheap.

Good facility for the price, and the staff were polite. Good location.

Nearly perfect Sugamo has so much to offer with it's shopping street in front of the Station. I wish I had been in better health to enjoy more of it.

The stairs to the basement entry was the only downside being my 2nd trip to Japan while disabled. It takes me forever up or down on stairs these days. The tv signal was out half the time in my room and I had planned for months to watch the Christmas specials.

Decent stay, but not particularly quiet

The facilities in the room were dated, but functional. My biggest issue was the golf range right across from the hotel which operated 12 hours of the day. Throughout the early morning, day and night, even on weekends, you can hear golf balls being hit with a club and on the net

We had a wonderful stay and the location is fantastic. So close to the subway line and surrounded by plenty of great restaurants. The staff were incredibly friendly and always eager to help with any questions we had. Our room was spacious enough for two, and the beds were super comfy. Plus, the Wi-Fi was excellent! Overall, a great experience!

The smell of cigars; it's a free-smoking zone. But this is a Japanese situation and not exclusive to the hotel.

We had a wonderful stay and the location is fantastic. So close to the subway line and surrounded by plenty of great restaurants. Staff were helpful and it was a nice room. I was worried about smoke since it is a smoking hotel but my room was very clean and didn’t have any smell. Location was pretty good too, close to sugamo station plus the shopping street, and in a quiet neighborhood too

It was pretty small but this is just what Japanese hotels are like so not much to do about this

Much Smaller Than Expected

The room is much smaller than expected, and so is the bathroom. If you are over 175 cm tall, you will have to leave the bathroom door open and extend your legs outside to sit comfortably. There is no space to organize your luggage except on the bed. Overall, the room is extremely small.

It is a great value for your money (if you are used to American hotel prices!) The staff was very helpful when I asked them questions in Japanese. The station is easy to get to. The elevator is convenient!

I am quite sensitive to noises, and the walls in this hotel transmit bumping and thumping sounds even if you have earplugs in. It is a hotel where people smoke, and sometimes the smoke wafted right into my room when my neighbor was having a before-bed smoke. There were a couple nights when I couldn't sleep well, and my mental health was horrible the next day due to the noise issues. But honestly, this happens to me in my apartment at home too, so it might not bother most people.

I love this place and always use it when I can. There is a laundry, the rooms have everything you need and are great for a longer stay with the microwave, etc. Staff are always so lovely and the rooms are decently clean. The place is a little loved, but that's part of its charm. Also a great location.

A little updating of the sinks and those kind of areas, plus maybe a tad bit cleaner- but I'm not too fussed. It is always a lovely stay when I'm there.

small old clean room, best value for the price in my opinion

Sugamo is famous for its "granny shopping street" with an interesting shrine and has good connections to other destinations.

The facilities and the room have seen their share of wear and tear, with marks on the walls and furniture. Even though I had a non-smoking room, I could smell the smoke coming from neighboring rooms and the hallway, despite trying to block all the possible entryways. The bed was too narrow to be a double as requested.

Perfect location; less than 10 minute walk from Sugamo Station and the neighborhood is very safe even at night. The staff were very nice and the hotel is surrounded by vending machines and local restaurants. The hotel locks the entrace after 6PM and you enter with a passcode, so you feel very safe during your stay.

I read many reviews that the cigarette smells in rooms aren’t that strong, but unfortunately it was. If you are not okay with the smell you can go to a local drug store and buy an odor remover specifically for smoking and it worked great. The room was really dry so you will often wake up with unstoppable cough but other than that, everything was good!

Room was super clean , bathroom also . Bed was really comfortable, had AC , came with a small fridge, microwave, induction heater in case you want to cook your own food, a sink to wash hand/face ( not the one in the bathroom ) wifi work great. Nice price if you book early . Had a washing/ drying machine for your clothes on the first floor ( for a small fee )

The AC worked, the room had a good spread of amenities (microwave, hotplate, tv, etc.), location is excellent, staff were very accommodating of my arrival late in the evening.

The pillow was closer to a bean bag than a pillow I'm used to. I didn't realize it was not a no-smoking room or hotel so the soot on the walls surprised me.
