It was cheap, clean, and in a very good location.

It’s an older hotel so things look outdated.

This hotel is a bit of a blast from the past: A Japanese-style no frills business hotel close to a major train station. I loved having the tatami mat room, the smell of the mats is so nice. Bath is small, but it's nice to have a common bath.

This is in a busy area, so there is some noise at night. Facilities are clearly dated. Keep expectations in check and don't expect luxury - this is a good, solid low cost hotel, and the facilities are in line with the low cost.

Very spacious room and great location!! In the middle of Ameyoko and super close to both Ueno JR and Ueno metro station (as well as Skyliner). Staff are also very helpful and I was able to send my luggage to the hotel in advance. You do need to give the reception your key each time you leave the hotel but I actually really liked that aspect - made me less worried about losing a card key etc! Had no issues whatsoever with needing to use the key. Room was perfect and amenities are free to grab at the reception. There is also a sauna/bath for hotel guests to use but I didn’t get the chance to try this time. Definitely will stay here again.

I like that staff are very friendly and the room that they gave us is clean. They also clean our room everyday with no extra charge. I would like to comeback to this hotel again if we will visit Tokyo. There are a lot of train stations nearby. Also, there are a lot of food options!

The bed could have been more comfortable and soft but I guess that is how Japanese beds are. Overall, it is fine.

Great location; loved having a balcony. It was our first time in Japan and the hotel was close to many trains and subways making it easy to get to other parts of the city. We liked having access to laundry machine.

The beds were hard, but we still slept very well. My husband drinks coffee in the morning and they only had tea and water.

Excellent location - quick 4ish minute walk to both Ueno stations, right by the street market. It was nice to pop back into the hotel to drop stuff off or rest our feet for a few minutes. The staff was friendly.

There didn’t seem to be a single outlet available to charge devices. We had to unplug a lamp to do so. Beds were hard, and you get a single small pillow.

The location was great. Very close to the train station, Ameyoko, konbini, atm machines and other restaurants. We stayed for 5 nights and they would give clean towels and robes everyday. The door is auto lock, so don't forget the key whenever you go out.

My only problem was the bidet in the room. Most of the time, it wouldn't work. The sink and bathtub is a little moldy too. But other than that, it was okay.

The staff of the hotel is really polite and helpful. Facilities provided is as written and usable.

Smoking room is reek of cigarette smoke. However, it is expected since room I order is the smoking room one.

The staffs are so polite and helpful!The location is in the middle of Ueno shopping zone!

I can hear the voice of people in the doorway coming through my room.There is no bottle of drinking water provided.

The staff were very helpful and courteous. They made an effort to solve problems. They helped me arrange for my luggage to be sent to another destination and wrote the details in Japanese for me.

The bathroom had mold all around the tub, ceiling , corners and sink. The bathroom had not been renovated in 50 years according to staff. The beds were painfully hard. The towels were very thin. The carpets smelled of old smoke in the hallway and foyer. The condition of the hallways was rundown. I do not recommend this hotel for anyone.

Staff was very accommodating with a smooth check-in & check-out procedure. Also great location to Ueno station + good food and drinking options around that open till late.

Building is a little old with the smell of old cigarettes everywhere. Bathroom bidet was out of order when we stayed.

Excellent location. Close to Ueno Station (please choose the HIrokoji Exit 廣小路口). Very spacious room though the hotel was a little bit old. Huge lobby area with four big tables for you to eat / work / read / relax. Hot water available at the lobby. Good value for money. The staff let us leave our bags in the hotel because we will return one week later, so nice of them.

After checking out the public bath area, I decided not to use it. Doesn't feel as clean as that of the other hotels close by. But you can always shower in your room. Wifi may not work in your room but the staff may give you a mobile wifi box if you request it.

We stayed at 2 nights, the room is medium size but it is comfortable, very good location, walking distance only to ameyoko shopping market, halal restaurant, and ueno station, the staff hotel also good and helpful.

VERY Good location. Room was big enough. Went with my wife n 2 daugthers. Booked 2 Rooms. The rooms were comfortable.

The location was convenient but very near a super touristy area. So there were alot of people in the next street.
