MIMARU TOKYO SHINJUKU WEST

So clean and quiet.

the staff, specifically Riri and Trinh made our whole vacation absolutely wonderful!!!

The room was huge and very comfortable. The staff were great and always welcoming and helpful! We definitely enjoyed our time there.

The bathroom had a very unpleasant smell that made me and my family nauseous. We're not sure what it was because the whole room, including bathrooms and closets, were very clean. Also, this hotel was pretty far from the station. It was a tough 15 minute walk back to the hotel for the kids from Shinjuku Station after a long day of exploring Tokyo.

The room was very efficiently laid out, and we appreciated having the small kitchen and dining table as a family of four. We really liked the location. It might be too far from Shinjuku station for some, but we enjoyed being in a quieter part of the area. Nearby Shinjuku Central Park was lovely. The Government Building Observatory (free) was close by too. We dreaded taking the train from Shinjuku Station to Haneda with all of our luggage, so were happy the Airport Limousine bus picks up at nearby Washington Hotel.

The room size is challenging if you have multiple large suitcases. With that said, I think the photos show the space accurately, so you know what to expect.

Laundry service facilities were not sufficient for hotel. Other guests held machines from 8pm until after midnight. Was awake until 2am doing our laundry

It was a bit out of the way to reach this hotel.The dryer were not able to dry the clothes properly and so it smelled after we packed and opened up in Kyoto. :(

Location, cleanliness the rooms were spacious and the staff was amazing

The hospitality, amenities and the size of the room were all exceptional! A great location close enough to all the places we wanted to visit yet quiet and relaxing. Definitely recommend for those travelling with children.

fantastic spacious property with amazing location.. we walked to station which is 10 minutes and plenty of places nearby to explore including shinjuku , golden gai and memory lane

nothing i can think of. they change towels and dustbins everyday and make bed alternative days. which was enough for us.

Beds were kinda stiff.

Walking distance to the main shops, restaurants and trains but not too close so it was nice a quiet in the evenings. Great amenities and a bonus having a guest laundry. The apartment was very spacious for our family of 4.

The hotel reception area was clean. The front desk staff appears nice.

We got 2 rooms for a party of 8 on the 12th floor. One of our room had no hot water. My sister told the staff that but they told her that is bc she didn’t turn a knob or something on. Anyhow, it turned out the boiler was not enabled so the hotel technician had to turn it on. When we got back to our hotel late night, we say our hotel door opened…the hinge with a built-in hold-open feature was enabled. We freaked out because we thought someone robbed our hotel room. We went downstairs to report the issue. They claimed they checked the cameras that it was the technician that fixed the water boiler who forgot to remove the hold-open hinge and that no one came into our hotel room. As a hotel guest, they should never ever have to freak out like this. We have stayed at many hotels and never ever was our hotel room left opened. The front desk said they will report the incident to the Manager who will reach out to us. Final outcome was that the hotel Manager NEVER reached out to us. It was made as though nothing ever happened. Next day we got a magnetic message on our door reading:NO CLEANING ATTENTIONPlacing DO NOT DISTURB sign on your door refrains the cleaning staff from entering the room. If you need cleaning services today, kindly take off the DO NOT DISTURB sign and bring this card to the front desk by 12:30 PM. We cannot clean your room it you do not bring this card to the front desk by the said time. Thank you for understanding.We followed the instructions by removing the “DO NOT DISTURB” sign and brought the card down to the front desk at 8’ish AM. When we got home at night, our room was NOT serviced. The staffs appear nice but somehow their process, service and security needs improvement. We would not stay nor can we recommend families and friends to this MIMARU location.

It was very clean, felt new, staff were very nice

On the second day, we asked that the mattresses were very soft to the point that we could not sleep well. And the staff immediately responded and replace the mattresses with good ones. Great customer service.

The dryers in the laundry area takes too long to dry the clothes.

Very clean, reasonably spacious room with a surprisingly functional kitchen setup.

It is conveniently located in one of Tokyo’s major hubs, just a 6-minute walk from Shinjuku Station. Restaurants and convenience stores are only a few meters away, making dining and quick shopping incredibly easy. The room is equipped with all the basic amenities we need, ensuring a comfortable and hassle-free stay.

It’s a bit on the pricey side, but considering that hotel rates in Tokyo are generally quite high.

Location

Staff didn't clean rooms or cleaned them very selectively. For example, I saw they picked up some candy wrappers on one side of the room, but not on the other. They never cleaned the kitchen table. They changed the bedding on one of the beds, but not another, because a kid's toy was on it. Instead, they left a pre-printed message saying they didn't change/clean it because personal property was on that bed. Taking into consideration that they change bedding once every three days, you're out of luck. For the same reason, they never cleaned the kitchen table.

The staff were friendly and great! I would recommend this hotel. It's clean and it's close to restaurants.
