The 2 bedroom villa was great and spacious. Great hospitality from all staff members from reception, concierge, restaurants, buggy operators to housekeeping. It was a really enjoyable stay!

The rooms are quite overpriced relative to the quality of the villas. The one we stayed in (Banyan Pool villa) was quite old and had several issues - AC not functioning fully (it was very hot at night), wood finish chipped off, doors to the outside not fully sealed in the bathroom leading to insects coming in. The resort and the rooms need a refresh. The breakfast was very poorly organized. I had to order eggs three times before they got them to me because it was so busy. It doesn’t have a luxury resort feel. Spend your money at Banyan tree Krabi because it was far superior in terms of hospitality to this property and not too far away

I think it was my third time visiting this hotel for the past 10 years, and I have always enjoyed my stay here so far. I believe that Banyan Tree is one of the best hotels to stay while you are visiting Phuket, as it provides you with everything you need - a range of good restaurants, fine in-room dining, leisure facilities, etc. The hotel’s staff is also extremely polite and helpful.

The biggest disadvantage so far is the current change of the beach. Now, if you want to reach the hotel’s designated and equipped beach spot, you either have to walk 10 mins along the shore or take a local buggy (provided by the hotel free of charge). If I am not mistaken, a couple of years ago the beach was located right in front of the hotel. I think it is also high time to renovate villas a bit. Currently, the interior is starting to look a bit outdated (e.g. old tv sets) or a bit shabby (some make-up would do nicely here). However, I would not say that any of it is a deal breaker, as safety, comfort and overall convenience of the stay here outweighs all these issues.

Excellent customer service . All staff were helpful and we thought room service would be slow given they were villas but everything was prompt . The rooms were cleaned to a high standard and the pool area was exceptionally maintained . First time i saw that you could go around the hotel in bones rather than buggies ( which were also available ). Kids absolutely loved this and we loved the fact of having a private pool and not fight for sunbeds !! One of our favourite hotels to date .

Due to heavy rain one day , the roof did leak but I always believe in how a problem is fixed and the hotel sorted it out straight away so it didn’t detract from the service and our stay .

The hotel is perfection from the moment you arrive until the time you depart you are treated like royalty , the staff are superb and the facilities and location are spectacular

Our only issue was the price of the wine and the quality. (Maybe that's a personal choice) All other food and beverage was nice.

Breakfast was good, as its a buffet it could use more staff enforcing people not using their hands to pick up food items. staff are always friendly and helpful. the ginger tea at breakfast was very good and the kids loved the pastry section. The bikes are great for cycling around as a family and the golf buggies always stop to let the younger ones pass. Happy hour at sundowners bar is amazing and very peaceful.

It was a very busy time as there was an event being held there which created chaos. they did bring in extra staff for the occasion but it was clear they were not banyan tree staff as they were not as good as the resident staff who are excellent.

Rooms were great, the staff was very helpful and the common pool and our villa pool was a delight. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely go there again.

Location, views, natural beauty

Value for money, extremely expensive, few eating options for vegetarians, most activities were chargeable not complementary.

The staff are exceptional and always have been over the past twenty years we have stayed here. They make the difference. There are a lot of beautiful resorts with stunning facilities and vistas close to this, but you genuinely feel the care from all the Banyan Tree team. They deserve your respect and gratitude.

Dining options, especially at lunch, are more limited compared to our earlier visits over the past twenty years. Within the resort it’s only the expensive Japanese restaurant, the somewhat bland golf club cafe or in-room dining. If you want to leave the resort to dine elsewhere (such as an authentic local beachside family cafe on Bang Tao beach) the security guards have only now started physically preventing guests from leaving the resort by bicycle and it is too hot to walk in the dry season. It’s too close to take a taxi so you are stuck. This is even more so at night. Separately, and NOT the Banyan Tree’s fault, some of the other guests’ behaviours are so arrogant, ungrateful and rude. They act like self-entitled primadonnas who sometimes treat the staff with discourtesy and condescension. The staff maintain their poise and professionalism despite this poor treatment from a vocal and visible minority of travellers.
