Baan Taranya Koh Yao Yai Resort

It was secluded and soo tranquil, maybe too isolated for some people, there is nothing around but beach and sea.

The hotel was NOT reasonable for anything you wanted you needed. For the price of a meal I could eat for a week in Bangkok or Phuket! They took advantage of the customer unable to go somewhere else for food, etc.

The location, nice ladies at the front, pool were all great!

The main male waiter/ host has a very bad attitude. He is lazy and ignores any questions you have. He has an attitude and would rather text on his phone then assist guests. He speaks English the best so they always send him overto "help" but he won't help

We stayed for a week and absolutely loved it. The staff were so kind and helpful and felt like family. They kept the room clean and organized. We loved the pools and the local kids played in the front. Also the outdoor jacuzzi was amazing. And the staff helped make the boat transfer easy too.

It was all great, but we do wish there was more variety with breakfast when staying for a week. Especially vegan options.

The resort has two swimming pools and is very close to a beautiful beach. We rented two scooters at the resort. to explore this beautiful island in a day. There are a few good restaurants nearby, but the stores are further away.

The friendly and helpful staff were the highlight of this hotel. A special thanks to Anne and Thiri for their care and welcome and to Chris and Bibo for their hospitality. The garden and pools are as beautiful as advertised, the room was spacious, clean and well designed. We recommend taking the morning island tour through them as it was well organised and the food was great. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

The beach needs some attention as there is quite some rubbish.

The restaurant is very good, although we felt it shouldn’t have been so much more expensive than we had previously been paying at other restaurants and also others locally.

Penthouse was amazing and the pools were excellent. Breakfast was also really nice

We really like our stay in Baan Taranya Hotel, the room were clean and spacious, the staff were really nice and friendly, Pepaw in the restaurant was a really nice person.We would definitely recommend this place and we looking forward to come back again.

Hotel was really lovely and staff so helpful. Bedroom was spacious and comfortable. Onsite restaurant was excellent and proper coffee too. Right on the beach which was always quiet and the 2 pools were never busy either. Very peaceful stay. Would recommend to anyone. They also helped us hire a bike to get around the island and dropped us at the pier when we were leaving. Can’t recommend enough!

The resort was nice, and I really liked my bungalow. It was spacious, and I enjoyed reading on the terrace in the evening. However, the walls are quite thin, so you can hear noise from outside and the nearby bungalows (but in the night it was quiet).The restaurant area with a sea view was lovely, and the breakfast was good. The pool was not very big but still nice, and the whole place was very well maintained. The small "village" outside the resort has some good, simple restaurants and Thai massage options (but no 7eleven or similar).If you want to explore the area, I definitely recommend renting a scooter.

I expected the beach to be a place to relax, sunbathe, and swim in the sea, but that wasn’t the case. It is located next to a pier and feels more like an abandoned beach where boats are docked. The water is muddy and not inviting, and when the tide is low, there isn’t much water left for swimming.

The location by the sea front, the kindness of the staff, the quality of the food, the comfort of the rooms and facilities.

the acoustics in the corridors of the new building are poor, every sound from people walking by and talking is amplified.

The resort is beautiful, unfortunately not many shops bars etc in walking distance for me anyway as I hurt my back quite badly. The staff were fantastic though and it’s definitely a great location to just chill. There is no “walking street” and 7/11 don’t sell alcohol on the island, you can get it though at a “family shop”I feel I must give special thanks to man who does the shuttle runs from the hotel. He was so kind and waited for me while I was treated at the local doctor. I don’t know his name and I felt bad not to leave him a tip as I no cash left due to not knowing what was happening with my insurance . Special mention to Chris too who made me feel so welcome and even treated me to a birthday surprise .Reception staff very helpful and accommodating and managed to let me stay an extra night. I had a swim up room which was gorgeous

Whilst I had a fairly comfortable stay, and there wasn't anything drastically bad with the accommodation, I think 4 stars is very ambitious. I'm being generous giving 3 stars. I do not think the room was worth the money I paid. The room was old style with a bad smell coming from the drain in the bathroom. The shower heads needed cleaning/maintenance. Also, the room was not sound proofed and I could hear upstairs quite clearly as they moved and banged around. This was a little disturbing as I wanted some early nights to relax.Housekeeping did not change dirty towels left on the floor. Instead, they hung them up again, which I had to discuss with reception after the 2nd time this happened. They also did not fully clean the room each day. It seems that a very quick ob was done.I think this hotel has a lot of potential, and things could improve a lot with some general maintenance and correct housekeeping.

Quality of room, furnishings etc. Staff excellent friendly professional and helpful.

A towel rail outside for drying clothes. Poolside rooms git very little sun and not much sitting out space.

The place was peaceful, very nicely designed. The big pool was warm at any time, but the one in front of the room was a bit cool. Otherwise everything was very nice
