Karona Resort & Spa - SHA Extra Plus

- walking distance (minutes) to everything: karon beach, restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, convenience stores, massage services, etc.- there is a bus stop (karon stadium) across the street with busses going to phuket old town and the airport.- relatively more affordable compared to other hotels in the area.

- everything in the room is old and seems to be falling apart (but functional).- a lot of stairs around the property, might not be too convenient for people with mobility issues.- zero view of the ocean (depending on the room type) although we got a nice little 'cottage' with balcony and garden.

Comfortable bed, spacing room and nice view. It was my honeymoon so they decorated the room very nicely with no extra charge which we really appreciated

Breakfast needs improvement, could do with a bit more toiletries and basic facilities

Fitness centre old equipment, the room felt old fashioned and in need of an update - not sure it’s the same room as the photos

Bathroom, Flaming hot water only.Questions never answered at the reception. Beds are very hard. No Blow dryer in RoomDoor didn't close at balcony Huge gap in the door, can clearly see through.Generally old building. If this is a 4-star I will eat my own shoes.

The location was good, the room was spacious and well furnished, and they have bidet.

1- No halal options on the breakfast buffet, even the egg they cook it on the same grill as bacon2- no variety that satisfy all tastes3- the staff was nice and cheerful but they weren’t helpful for example you will need to carry up your luggage every where when checking in and out4- you have only 2 bottles of water a day and doesn’t taste great

Breakfast was great, staff was extremely friendly. Just steps to an amazing beach.

- The rooms are a bit dated.- The food is expensive compared to what you can get nearby.- We weren't too pleased about being charged for linens after our toddler rubbed Nutella on the bedsheets. Shouldn't that have washed off?

Dated room. Hard bed, flimsy plastic seating. The shower head required attention, no bath mat. Breakfast was limited, and items would frequently run out

Staff was friendly. Very close to the beach, pharmacy and supermarket.

Room wasn’t very clean or practical. Food was okay, breakfast and dinner.

Great hotel , karon beach round the corner and on the border between karon and kata , found oudselves using karon beach but going out in kata as its a short walk to kata but 200baht up to karon centre .

Room was uniuqe and very clean and very nice view mixed between the resort and the beach

Sheet was dirty, noise and the deposit of 2000 thb I didn't expect.

Fantastic location, right across from the beach and a short walk to another beach. Very close to bars, cafes, shops, restaurants. Big comfortable room. Good pool. Good breakfast. Brilliant friendly staff.

The lift doesn't go up the fifth floor (which is where my room was). A bit tiresome after a hot muggy day.

- We are both vegan and they catered for us during breakfast to make sure we had something to eat. Food was plenty and we left each day very full!- The price was good- The pool was nice- Close to local shops and restaurants- Can book excursions from reception - Easy to get a taxi around

- The balcony was a little small for 2 people.

Good location, friendly staff, delicious breakfast

Karona is an excellent choice for stay as it is next to Karon beach. You just need to walk down the slope go across the road. There are many shop as well as eateries but you need to walk to the town city center. Breakfast spread is good enough overall. Staff are mainly friendly with a ready greeting when meet up with guests.

Upon arrival check in Ms. Mai at the reception greet us with a no smile face and inform us our request for connecting room is unavailable. When we ask why, she replied RUDELY that hotel is at high season and all room are full. They have upgrade our booking to Deluxe and she mentioned many a times our booking was only for Superior. Another staff Max brought us to view the upgrade Deluxe room which is on the ground floor just next to the cafe and pool. There is a smoky smell inside the room, too. We meet up with Ms. Mai and said we are not comfortable with the room. She again tell us our booking is Superior and the message I received was you pay so little and ask for so much. She then turned her back and walk away turning us to the wind. As it was already late in the afternoon, we agreed eventually but upset with Ms. Mai bad attitude towards guest. I told her with the below word: "Ms. you do not need to raise your voice to tell me off that I paid for a lower rate booking and speak to me like this. I am your guest, too"

Lots of steps ?

To be very honest the hotel location that’s what we mostly enjoyed I would really ask hotel management to train their staff ( reception) to smile and to be polite with guest. Special morning shift ladies I found very rude with sarcastic behaviour. I paid for pleasure and rest and good memories but the hotel didn’t impress me at all except thanks for letting us to check earlier. I’m very disappointed with front desk ladies

If there will be another chance to visit Thailand I won’t choose this hotel
