The Racha

Isolated location felt exclusive. Great semi private beach. With one exception, warm and friendly staff members. Spacious and comfortable rooms. Consistently good food.

The only real complaint was the beach should be examined for glass. We found more than a few glass shards in the sand. Would not take much effort to sweep the beach.

Everything was perfectly organized. The staff were exceptionally friendly and professional. The Racha exceeded all our expectations ...clean, luxurious, and truly unforgettable.The beach was stunning, and the activities offered were well planned and enjoyable. Highly recommended!

Amazingly clean beach for Thailand. Friendly and helpful staff. Peace and solitude. In villa BBQ was a great experience. Large, clean private pool. Arrival lounge was comfortable. Breakfast had great choices. Lovely room service attendants. Modern application for information and ordering. Environmentally friendly / sustainable methodologies.

Shower in main bathroom could be better quality. Generally the decor was reasonably dated - meaning the fit out was luxurious 10+ years ago. Activities are significantly overpriced compared with commercial options in Phuket.

The beach

Poor hotel policy and slow communication with the guests. The service does not deserve the price paid.

We like everything! Amazing beach, excellent food, very nice staff, good facilities. It was wonderful vacation!

Anyway, a very beautiful beach spread out in front of the hotel. The staff immediately recognised my son and spoke to him every day.

I would be happy if the lunch and dinner repertoire expanded a little more.

Khun Oh and Khun Ball at the Padi dive center are absolutely great! Fantastic with our teenagers, funny, great service and always willing to go the extra mile (night dives with boat at the wrecks). They took great photos, too. Go diving with them if you can!

The GM should instruct the staff to collect plastic waste from the beach at least once better twice a day. They sell Maldives feeling but the beach is full of plastic waste.

omg the room wasnt as clean as it should for the money we paid. the facility is very old.the staff is ok. We asked for a tissue box and they brought 4 tissues handling them by hand! like were is the box? the water is yellow and taste salty. we checked out one day earlier and they didnt even bother to ask if we were not satisfied!

The hotel location is gorgeous, not only the beach but the nature seeing butterflies first thing in the morning everywhere around you, birds sound and gorgeous rare trees & palm trees. the villa layout and having option to stay with your kids in the same villa was a plus for us, speed of service was excellent. the flexibility of the staff and their understanding was something we really admired showed great customer service as we booked for a week but we needed to checkout a day earlier as we booked an excursion and we weren't aware of the distance and they found a way to fulfil that! smoothly and without a need from us to further explain. Just be aware if you are arriving Phuket in the evening you need to book a hotel in the mainland to stay for that evening then the next day you can take the ferry to The Racha as no boats operating to the hotel after 4:00 pm :)

We would really appreciate if they pay extra more attention on the cleaning process as we understand the villas are in the middle of the nature you would expect ants and some insects inside the room but i think with proper cleaning we would eliminate some of that especially the gorgeous terrace of the villa would be great to clean it better. And maybe to offer some games for guests to enjoy in the evenings or while its rainy. We loved the idea of having different restaurants but also would be great to upgrade the quality of food especially for breakfast.

This resort is absolutely amazing with the clearest water I have seen in Thailand. The facilities are beautiful and the rooms well equipped. The staff are incredible and very willing to assist. The resort provides free ice and drinking water on the beach. Breakfast provided a great selection with good quality of food. Adults only pool and a separate kids pool. Beautiful spa and gym. The restaurants served great food at a reasonable price. The restaurant made my wife`s birthday very special. The resort lights up beautifully at night.

The breakfast area is a bit small when there are a lot of guests.

Absolutely amazing place! Could not fault it at all. The location is breath taking, the facilities are amazing, the staff went above and beyond for everything for us. We did most of the activities offered on the island and they were all great. Food for breakfast and all the restaurants was perfect. The rooms are very big and spacious and the outdoor shower is a nice touch. Would stay here for a lot longer next time to enjoy everything the island has to offer.

The location was beautiful. The water was crystal clear and the island had amazing views and landscapes. It felt like being in the maldives. The spa facility was exceptional and their masseuse Aye was splendid. The staff was very helpful and the resort kept up with its luxury status with small gestures and tokens every night. The property was very lavish and the rooms were spacious.

The main beach had visitors , like outsiders coming in from ferries and boats blocking the view so we couldnt have privacy at the beach.

The location is exceptional. We loved the island and we loved the beach! It was quiet and peaceful here. The food was quite tasty at the restaurant, but quite a bit pricier than high end hotels in phuket. Burgers were upwards of $20 Canadian, and salmon dishes or anything with prawns were $25+. The breakfast included with your stay each morning was quite nice though. We liked the feel of the resort and the layout, and we enjoyed the complimentary scuba gear and paddle boards on the beach. Staff were very friendly and nice

The rooms or rather little bungalows here were in need of some serious work to make this remotely 5 Star. For the price, we expected quite a bit more. The air conditioners do not work well, our first night it only got down to 23.5 degrees in the room, so we went to bed warm and woke up sticky and warm. The second night was better, but the ac never shut off once and it only got down to 22 degrees, not exactly the norm for air conditioned rooms. The doors exiting the villa to the little patio, the front entrance and the outdoor shower all had LARGE air gaps to the outside, meaning warm air, sun, outdoor sounds and bugs were getting into our room. The cicadas outside were so loud multiple times in the morning that we woke up at the Crack of dawn. This has never happened to us before, and if the doors were properly sealed I'm sure it wouldn't have happened! We also woke up many times to buzzing mosquitos and on my second morning I woke up with a large mosquito bite on my face, neck, and multiple on my forearms and 2 on my legs. These were not bites we experienced outside as we wear bug spray and there were no bugs biting, but rather these were ones that got into our room. Disappointing because I swell up from the mosquito bites in thailand so have large welts on face and neck and arms right now and theyre extremely itchy. We always wear bug protection and so to get all these bites while sleeping is frustrating and definitely not what you want to wake up feeling at a resort.Beds are extremely hard and uncomfortable also. All in all, this resort needs to majorly update the rooms to become a 5 star place in our books. The beach and resort itself are nice, but the rooms are seriously lacking quality and comfort. They'd be a 2-3 star room anywhere else, a lot lower quality and comfort than 3 and 4 Star places in Bangkok and phuket even.

Too many daytrippers in the day

Great location and wonderful staff. Nice little touches and different tasty food options. You can do as little or as much as you are comfortable with.

The organization of the dive centre was a bit haphazard and some days boats were not available to go to great sites.

Beautiful location, excellent team and customer service. Lots of things to do. Great SPA.

There were a few issues with the room i initially booked but the staff were really nice and proactive in suggesting the alternatives and it all worked out really well. Look forward to being back.

The beach is incredible, one of the most beautiful settings for a hotel I've ever seen. This is the hallmark of the Racha. There are amazing facilities, including an incredible spa, tennis courts etc. There are some nice free activities, including walks and yoga, and plenty of equipment for water sports around the island. The whole island is just a couple of hotels and restaurants. Some of the staff are also amazing, especially Om who looked after myself and my Wife really well.

There were a few issues at the Racha:- The rooms are large but have some issues. The beds are extremely uncomfortable, like the worst I've ever experienced at a 5 star hotel, more like 3 star hotel beds.- The rooms needs maintenance. For example, a door handle was falling off, the toilet an immediate repair, a light switch fell off, the tea kettle didn't seem to work properly. There were leaks in the shower. Pretty bad, honestly. - Expect to pay silly prices on everything at the Racha, not just food, but stupid money for paid activities that is like 5 times higher than taking these activities through other vendors. Serious price gouging, but not unusual at resorts with a captive audience.- Service has its highs, but often its lows. Its comical, but expect to get a menu but no one will follow up with to take your order. Expect to ask something from house keeping without it arriving. In general, staff just seem a little demotivated. Again, there are some exceptions to this as mentioned previously.
