Chanalai Garden Resort, Kata Beach

The view was very spectacular.

It was very hard to get to our unit. Way to many steps up the stairs. It was a workout every time we leave our room and when we come back to our room. The bathroom tub is very hard to get out, do to a long step down. This place is very out dated.

The location is good. 5 mins to main beach. 15 mins to Kata Noi beach ( our favourite) we paid for a room with a sea view . Plenty of restaurants and shops around . The small pool area is nice overlooking the sea. Not infinity pool though. Bar Man Bank is the best. What a lovely smile.Breakfast can be eaten outside.Also we arrived early and were able to use the pool on arrival and departure day. That was great thank you.

This hotel is massive. We were on 11 th floor. Needed 3 lifts and still had to climb stairs. There are stairs and ramps everywhere so not good if you have mobility issues.There is no designated bar area in the evening. The small pool has one table. They should use large pool area for a bar. The downstairs Lobby is classed as a bar but seems to be used only when they wheel in the telly for football. We had a few issues with old towels being removed and new towels not left. Complimentary fruit platter but no plate or knife to eat it. Impossible to see how to switch off bathroom light...little things like this. But my biggest problem was that for £215 a night it just didn't have the wow factor. Decor is dated . Bathrooms need refurbishing. But the staff work hard and it was clean. Probably the biggest bed we have ever slept in and nice balcony .

Better direction to the room

I loved the location near to the beach and the markets. I love how well maintained the resort is and how friendly and helpful the staff were . My room with a sea view was the best part of it . Also liked how the resort had specific rules to accommodate everyone.

Maybe the checkout time can be later during the day

Bed were a bit hard but wasn't uncomfortable.

The location is perfect, just 2-3 mins away from the beach. There is a 7-11 across street from the main entrance, so very convenient. The view from the ocean front view is great.

There are a lot of stairs if you are staying at higher buildings. May not be suitable for elderly people. Yes there are elevators, but you still need to take a few stairs.

Breakfast, gym and staff

Location, overall the property was nice but poorly maintained and poorly managed.

We were given a room next to the busy road plus the view of the room was blocked despite better rooms being available on the same or next day. Bathroom facilities and accessories were shabby. Tub was old, it was difficult to open the balcony door.

Big hotel resort close to the beach. Great breakfast buffet, 2 pools, gym, friendly staff, beautiful view of the sea, close to restaurants and shops.

Room service was sometimes in the morning and sometimes in the afternoon. Once they didn't come at all.

Maybe just the location

I and my wife both get food poisoning from the hotel breakfast, Old hotel and uncomfortable

It’s great location and breakfast was very good and lots of options.

The gym could do with bit of improvement.

Place, pool, cleaning, ambiance. Every people very kindly. I like it and i hope one day comeback again. Thanks a lot of.

-The location was great, close to the beach. -The pools were great and some staff were really helpful and friendly. -The restaurant was great. You can order by calling from the room and directly delivered to the room which was convenient.

Some staff’s service needs to be improved. The reception desk said they well noted my request, actually they may not. One lady asked us to wait to 14.00 to check in, which was reasonable for us, but when I double checked if the room she gave us was ready to be cleaned, she found the clients didn’t check out and unpacked yet! Such a waste of time if we didn’t double check! Luckily another staff heard our conversation and came to help arranging us an another room. Although I know that was all she could do at that time(which we appreciated), the sea view was partly blocked by the tree, and the double bed (we requested ) was made by putting two single beds together, with a beam in the middle, which made it very uncomfortable to sleep on. And also the room had a connected door inside, the neighbor voice was super loud at the midnight, which was upset for us.

Beautiful ocean view. Breakfast was super large and delicious. Big and renowned rooms.

This was a nice hotel with nice staff. Felt older but it was mostly clean. The pool view was great. Good was good

It was good

Perfect location in Kata beach, very close to the buzz area although is located in a quiet area. The beach is literally across the street and there’s a variety of restaurants close by. There is a nice roof top swimming pool where they also serve dinner buffet. Helpful staff and nice gym

The rooms are a bit old and the washrooms need maintenance, I felt the pictures are better than reality but overall it was a good value for money

We chose this hotel at the last minute and we are so happy we did. Staff were lovely and so helpful. Beautiful resort and great breakfast. Excellent location, and the rooms were super comfortable and clean. We would definitely stay here again. We always found chairs by the pool, and the guests were a nice, diverse mix of nationalities. Best part were the family of cats that lived there. :-)

Elevators were super slow and hard to get. We were in the building next to the main hotel, so we didn't have any issues with distance, but I did notice the building behind us would be tough in the rain. A few more pool chairs would be helpful as even though we always found a chair, it was pretty full. Update the gym to more weight training equipment.
