    Pros +

    • The hotel was great for the price and we stayed twice. Once for 4 nights and once a week later for 1 night. The rooms are relatively new and the mattresses are very comfortable. The staff are fantastic - they looked after our luggage for us whilst we went to other cities around Delhi so we didn't have to take it with us and generally couldn't help enough. In terms of the price, it really does represent good value for money. Most of the hotels on the Main Bazaar are similarly priced but much more rundown. If you want to stay in the Paharganj area then the hotel also represents a good starting point for exploring New Delhi. Connaught Place and other areas of interest are very close by either by foot or tuk tuk. Connaught Place and New Delhi train station are a 5-15 minute walk, for example. We did not have breakfast there so cannot comment.I have read some of the other reviews, and they appear to have mistaken an £8 a night hotel for an £80 a night hotel. Given that the hotel has reviews going back a few years, I wonder if it was recently bought by new owners who have renovated but have not made a new Booking.com profile because some of the comments really do not reflect the reality of the hotel. The rooms/sheets/towels/blankets were clean, we stayed in two different rooms for both stays and another recent reviewer from Bangladesh has posted photos on his review of the room which proves as much. The shower is a mandi (a bucket filled with water and you use another smaller bucket to shower with) as well as a "western" shower. Hot water IS available (we also stayed there in Dec/Jan), you just need to ask reception to turn it on so the boiler heats up. This means waiting 15-30 minutes when you want a shower. We opted for a room without a window on purpose to limit air pollution entering the room, but this was clear on the room description. Noise from the street is audible but didn't bother us.
    • Location is perfect.Room size also okey.
    • Good service staff and safe for travellers. The room was good and clean.

    Cons -

    • The only complaint is the card machine at reception does not accept foreign cards, so you need to pay in cash. Apart from that, everything was great.
    • Manager behaviour is extremely helpless
    • The place is by a very busy street, so it's very noisy. You can also hear a lot of noise from the nearby rooms. The AC doesn't work so it's very hot. The rooms are small and not very clean. And the bathroom probably wasn't cleaned in a very, VERY long time.

I had to make a last-minute booking, and this was the only affordable place in the area that was still available. If money is your primary concern and you literally don't mind anything else then this place is not too bad.

The place is by a very busy street, so it's very noisy. You can also hear a lot of noise from the nearby rooms. The AC doesn't work so it's very hot. The rooms are small and not very clean. And the bathroom probably wasn't cleaned in a very, VERY long time.

1/10 because of the extremely loud hallway, I were not able to sleep at all, the extremely unfriendly staff which tried to over charge us and the very dirty room. The bed was horrible. I left in the early morning from New Delhi railway station this is really the only reason why I stayed there at all.

it was one of the worst nights in my life!!! the bed was so dirty I guess they change the bedsheets once a year…. also it was soo loud people were coming and going, shouting in the hallway. can not recommend it all you get something better in the same price category…

This place is far from the pics and also from the reviews. Is expensive for that kind of rooms. And also is dirty. Bad experience

    Dirty!!!

Good staff. Quick check-in. Sufficient hot water. Located near train station and many food places.

Bed wasn't very comfortable; super thin mattress. Half the window was just an un-closeable vent, so the room was very cold (in January) and you could hear the busy street noise and guests in the hallway all night long.

good price, location close to metro and main bazaar. upon arrival, clean bed linen, good Wi-Fi.

A bit noisy because of the road, but I think it's everywhere in the area

Room was good, somewhat well decorated. Located in a nice place that everything is available a few steps.

Washroom was very untidy. There was no hot water facility during winter and although in the description it was written that an electric kettle will be there but actually that wasn't.

The room 301 was refurbished and all new, very comfy and beautiful. The hotel is going under renovation, so it was much better than expected. The bathroom was very clean. The staff was also nice, willing to help all the time. The location also is good, not far away from the train station and a bit more quiet than Main Bazaar

The room didn't have any window, so there is little ventilation. The bedsheets were fresh but the floor wasn't not mopped, so there were lots of dust on the floor.

However after a couple of minutes of booking I spoke to the hotel and was told that I've booked for the couple and my partner is a foreigner. We were traveling from Punjab and reached Delhi after midnight. My booking was refused by the hotel by making excuses that my ID is local (Delhi). There were no such kind of terms and conditions mentioned over this web portal.

We have liked everything of this lodge. Next time I'll try Maharani only and I often come to the National Capital. I'll refer my friends and relatives for a wonderful experience here at Maharani. It is the best hotel for the middle-class people like us. Thank you all at Booking.com ❤️ Fooding also according to our choice ?

    Nothing. Everything fine here.

You get what you pay for. It's basically a dump, a very basic place, but they keep it alright. I didn't see any coaches or rats, wouldn't touch the blanket and there''s no window. The outside street is very busy, but I always use earplugs so...

    Please wash blankets regularly!

Rooms are good as per budget. Parking is available. Staff is really good.

Little bit more cleanliness is required.

    Location is good.

Most reviews on booking are probably fake (@Booking: please check), see Google reviews as better reference. The room description (e.g. balcony) is misleading, staff unfriendly after confronting them with booking description.Room is at the low end for Indian standards.

    Exceptional

The location was pretty good and the staff was well behaved and cooperative. Really liked my stay here. Also the room was very clean ?
