The Ashok, New Delhi

Location, breakfast. Felt very secured.

Bathrooms seems to be a bit outdated and old.

We had a bad experience at the time of check in. The staffs didn’t even read the email we start at the time of check in and gave us a hard time. This will be first and last stay at Ashok.

Read the mails at least before making at issue at the time of cg ek in.

I had a lovely stay at The ashok. Enjoyed the dinner and breakfast included in the booking. Had an appointment at an embassy so very convenient location for that.

Location and staff were great.

The WiFi was horrible

Libby and open spaces grand and beautiful, staff wonderful & helpful!

Rooms need upkeep..plugs not working, paint poor in halls and rooms, long divider lace needs cleaning, rooms just need updates and repairs. Spa rules odd.. need passport etc

The Ashok is not even close to a five star hotel.

Where to even begin... The Ashok is anything but a 5 star hotel. From the moment you walk in, you are treated to a kafkaesque check-in process in which your time and comfort are fully disregarded. The staff couldn't be less interested in helping you. The hotel itself is among the most random setups I have EVER seen for a "luxury" property (including a bank, a "coffee shop" that is more akin to a full service restaurant, a cafe that only sells slices of cake, a fitness center that requires your PASSPORT to use and which refuses to allow you to use the normal entrance as a hotel guest). My room reeked of smoke on multiple occasions even though I had specifically requested a non-smoking floor. The bathroom, towels, and room in general were both heavily dated and dirty.

Worst rooms and beds. Most of the rooms stink.

Ordered burger and it was inedible. Tasted so horrible that it almost made me pukeThe price for each item is 4x the cost elsewhere but the taste at best is mediocre. None of the dishes tasted goodAlso in the room, bed lamp couldn’t be turned off which interrupted my sleep. Even though I called the reception multiple times it seemed like they kept ignoring my request to get it turned off or move me to a room where it could be turned off

Nothing, rude staff, only house keeping guys and waiters very well behaved otherwise the guys at reception who allotted me the room was extremely rude and ill mannered and unwelcoming

Hospitality

It is like a govt hotel; every thing starts late like offices

1. There was some big noise in the room, could not sleep at all2. The GYM or Fitness Centre is open only from 8 AM. How can any one going to meetings at 9 AM use the GYM. All hotels open the GYM at 6 AM onwards or 24 hours open. 3. Breakfast starts at 7:30 AM; all hotels in the world start breakfast at 6:30. If some wants to leave before 8 AM, they cannot have BF at all.

Basic amenities have to improved

In the Bathroom, whenever we took shawer ,water was struck and out of bathroom area, the Tea Cup was broken and their Tea Cattle was also broken,steam was harm to our fingers

Front Reception staff are care-free. They are even bothered that you are waiting in reception lobby to check-in.they feel it your responsibility to check again and again with them if the room is ready for you to check-in

Staff away from the front desk (restaurants, cleaners, gym and doormen) were all polite and friendly. Gym was reasonably equipped and walking track at Nehru Park was easily accessible.

Breakfast. Reception desk approach to customer service. And the concierge who steered me to the in-house tour company, (who nearly got me for a $420 fare to the airport).

The location was good

The breakfast was not good. Basic and not helpful staff. Food was lacking and the buffet was very limited. The check in was awful as it took also about and 1 hour. The rooms were outdated.

Didn’t like anything except the Greek youghurt

Room size too small . Bathroom too small.Everything was kept for 1 person though room was booked for 2 people

Location, history, layout.

The staff needs to be seriously improve on their customer focus and willingness to serve the guests.

Nothing. Do not book. The staff is Not helpful at all

The staff failed to move my date by a few days for the booking citing unavailable rooms as the reason for the new date. However, if you checked their website or booking.com separately they were offering rooms for the new date. Scammers and not helpful at all. There are a lot more better hotels in Delhi where the Hotel is actually decent and the staff is very helpful.

The location of the hotel is perfect. Located in diplomatic enclave opposite British Embassy. Easy access to all area of the Delhi. Also the hotel property is very nice and grand. The staff was very good and helpful. Everyone so polite and friendly.

Although the property is very nice however its easy to spot sign of ageing property in many areas. For example shower enclosure was leaking and water was coming out in to rest of the bathroom. Windows runner were dirty. Also feel dated in some areas. Also we tried buffet dinner on one night at The Coffee shop restaurant, my recommendation would ve to avoid. It's very overpriced. The quality of food is average and taste is not good too. For the same money can eat elsewhere which we did the night before and we were 3 adults 1 child drinks were included. So yes don't bother with buffet
