Hostel J Stay

There was no staff when we arrived, room was dirty and room supposed to be NON smoked but was smoked with treble smells.

STAY AWAY, SMOKED ROOM, DIRTY ROOM, NO STAFFS, UNSAFETY

Location was excellent - within walking distance to Gwangjang Market - and near 2 subway lines. The airport bus dropoff and pickup is within 5 mins walk.

A little tricky to find the correct main elevator (not the one pinned in the maps) and close to drinking bars.

The location was good and the price. We get an option for free laundry

1. In our first night, our air conditioning was leaking.2. Under the air conditioning there was an electrical cable that was exposed to the water and create electricity accident.3. When we told that to the stuff they “fix” it and said that we will get refund for one night. Eventually after that 3 different persons promised us to get money they didn’t bring us any money.4. Our room was dirty and there was huge insect.

Room was clean, staff was friendly and helpful. Lobby has free tea, coffee and water along with a kitchen. I am happy with my stay. Location is really good near both subways and palaces are close-by.

Super good location across from the street market and a short walk to downtown areas.

Could have had milk and sugar with the free coffee?

I'm looking for a place with elevator. But when I got there (late at night), there was stairs before I could reach the elevator. If only they told me that there was no stairs if I enter from the back of the building. I found about this the next morning. The kitchen is on the 5th floor. Free tea and coffee. You can see the Cheonggyecheon Stream from the kitchen's window.

There's no convenience store near the hotel that sells vegetables.

Nothing. Room was disgusting and had stains on the bedsheets, doona. Hair was everywhere. Someone's eyelash in the vanity etc. im surprised i didnt see cockroach but plenty of flies in the room. I left after staying for half a day - even talking about cleanliness and other things, receptionist or manager will jst say "we'll change the room, or clean"

They need better communication skills as receptionists dont even know what they are talking about and lack of customer service.

Near the station. The room was spacious.

There was only 1 CVS nearby.

Water Bottle block my door on two ocassion, cannot open my door in the morning as the bottles were placed right in front of the door. Had to push hard and stick my hand out to move them before was able to open door. Uncharacteristically as it can be dangerous when they are an emergency. Please take note to ensure room 501 door is not blocked by water bottles.

The house is located in a side-street, but the metro and the bus stops are just a minute away. The room was adequate, perfect for a short stay.The beds are comfy, and you can ask for a cleaning, if you need it. The staff was super friendly and helpful.

Metro station was really close, so travelling around Seoul was easy.

The alley the outside entrance is in didn't look great and the room wasn't perfectly clean. It wasn't bad and didn't affect our stay, but could have been a tad better.

The size of the room.

Common area like kitchen are dirty and the staff don't care. It doesn't matter how long you are staying too, they will not clean the room. You are free to take supplies like bathroom tissue and trash can liners so you can clean up yourself tho. Hot water shower ran out and its the middle of winter. The rooms don't heat up fast enough too.

We received different rooms that we ordered. Everything is rather overused or broken. Relatively far from subway.

this is 2nd times booked this hotel.convenient location. less than 3 minutes walk from Euljiro 4-ga station. *** make sure to get into the building at the backdoor if you want to take escalator from the ground floor ***room and bed are clean, bathroom is super large. Free of charge : self-service 24hr common room provides with hot-ice water machine , 2-3 induction stoves , unlimited different of cooking stuff (eg, knife / pan / wok /cup / plate ) , toaster and standard fridage . common room likes a small canteen and outside view just right next to Cheonggyecheon청계천. bathroom stuffs (towels , toilet tissue , body wash , shampoo ) unlimited refill (also self-service). cloth washing machine with washing power can be used any time , there are many shelves to air-dry in open area.counter staff delivered excellent service. one of them proactively helped me to reserve taxi service until taxi confirmed order. (Kakao taxi no longer provides service to non-account user even cash pay. it requires register with local citizen identification number. but 6 months ago I could took Kakao Taix with cash pay)

drainage in bathroom is easy to get stuck and water flooding happens in 2 minutes. small fridge facilities in room did not work. it runs but no cool air.

The receptionist (who worked on the weekdays) is very friendly, kind and helpful. He gave us good recommendations about where to go, and helped us book kakao taxi as we couldn't do it on our phones. He speaks good Korean, Chinese and English. We used Chinese to communicate since we are all Chinese. There is a shared pantry area where u can brew your coffee and eat your breakfast. There was no hand soap except dish detergent initially, but later on I saw the receptionist bought one which was kind and observant of him.

We didn't like the fact that the room size seems the same across all room types. We booked 4-people room but the room is not any bigger. There is barely walking space once we placed our 4 baggages on the floor. The bed sheet looked dirty, we saw black stains or marks on the bed sheet and pillow. It was honestly quite disturbing to see these but we didn't want to make a fuss about it. However the room is really small, we had to navigate our way and meander around our stuff with great difficulty despite trying our best to tidy our things. We requested to change room the following day, and the receptionist showed us a room which has larger corridor space near the door, where we can put our baggage. It was a little bit more spacious but it was still not easy to move around. Wouldn't recommend for 4 ppl to stay in this hostel, but it is suitable for 1 or 2 ppl to stay. We chose this place because of the location and read past review that it is spacious, but probably not for 4 ppl.

big room, more space, I can put all my things near subway, we can walk 2 mins to subway green line

Really good location once you figure out the subway and buses, definitely get a T/M Pass from the airport as this will be a lifesaver. Bedroom was decent sized and bathroom was good - showers were hot which was amazing. You can pick up clean towels, more soap etc. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need to cook with if you choose too and John was lovely too. Really welcoming and friendly.
