Pros +
- The property wasn't a really cool tucked convenient location downtown easy to get to things and close to a 711.
- This room was great. It had a lot of table/counter space so we fit well. There was plenty of room to still move around once our suitcases were opened. Bathroom was big. Everything was clean and the staff that refreshed our room was very polite about our stuff. The location is awesome, it's in a really fun little district full of bars, restaurants and little bit of shopping. If you're not an adventurous American, you have a Starbucks and McDonalds on the same square. Convenience stores are peppered all around so anything you might have left at home can be purchased. There's also a bank that converts money right around the corner. The walk to the subway was about 8 minutes, and it's a main line (inner line) so you can easily get to anywhere you want quickly. The art is really cool and there's a lot to explore. The main tourist spots are 30-45 min away by subway and that's mostly because of spurts of walking (I'm fat and slow) and waiting on trains for transfers (usually 1-3 minutes). Communication with the staff both at the hotel and prior and after was fantastic. There was a gentleman that was fluent in English but the main lady that we ran into manning the Desk only spoke a little English but with the help of translation apps we had zero issue. I only mention this because it's important that English speak people understand that you need to learn Korean more than you think, don't be a rude American and expect everyone to cater to you!!
- For the lotte tower, shopping mall and lotte world, go out to the right at the end of the street go right and walk straight on till you see it. Also olympic park is nearby go right and at the end go left cross with burgerking to the right ant cross again then you are at the olympic park. The checking is on distant but the rooms are nice and clean and the staff was so sweet for my baby. Best place where we stayed in seoul.
Cons -
- swimming pool was not available. It was in only selected suites not for everyone.
- The advertisement in the photo described in the pictures and inside of the elevators of the facility do not resemble what you would typically get within your stay. Our hotel had two beds. There were several stains did not look like the pictures whatsoever my tub no shower did not work only the retractable showerhead, which I just had to sit in and wash up and rinse the towels that were given were a bit small but that's OK. They came in and clean daily that was not a problem. In the beds were actually pretty comfortable.
- This was the first hotel we stayed in (and our favorite) so there was a bit of culture shock with the bathtub. We usually only do showers so figuring out how to bath with the shower cord and in the bathtub was different. This isn't anything on the hotel, just a different experience to expect.

I really liked the location
I didn’t like how hard the chair in the room was. I also didn’t like how warm the room got in the middle of the night. I didn’t like that they didn’t offer small face towels for showering.
Good localisation near Subway and restaurantService of the staff is poor (check in and check out by a video camera)But the room is confortable and clean
Location was amazing. The cleaning staffs were good.
The wifi in the room was very very weak. The tap in the hot tub was not working . Foreign credit cards could not be used which was strange .
DISAPPOINTING
The jacuzzi was not functioning during our stay, and the photos on the booking site did not accurately reflect the reality of the property. There was no staff available to assist us, and the front desk was consistently unoccupied. The walls were extremely thin, and the building was very noisy, making it nearly impossible to get a good night’s sleep. Overall, this was the worst hotel experience I have had to date. Considering the level of discomfort, the price was far too high and unjustified.
Since I’ve had many birthday parties there with 10+ people I figured it was no problem as the room is quite big and only 2 or 3 of us were actually staying over. However it was suddenly brought to our attention that the room is only rated for 6 people because of fire safety standards. I think this kind of thing should be listed as well so people know.
The front desk staff was so kind and helpful. I injured my leg during the stay here and she went out of her way to help me get well during the stay. I cannot thank her enough.
The water didn’t get super hot so I couldn’t take a hot bath, but it was warm enough to have no issues with showering.
the hotel needs to have a bit of touching up to keep up with the rest of hotel around in Seoul
the room electricity tends to interrupt every morning during our stays here from 6 to 7am whereby the AC will automatically shut off, but today our last day before our check out the room electricity was totally shut off by 7:00 that’s before the check out time of 11:00am. Told the receptionist but nothing was made to it.
The room was very comfortable and the location was very convenient.
This was my second time staying in this hotel. The first time, over a year ago, the service had been excellent. The staff was very helpful and made me feel very welcome. However, this time, I could see on arrival that things had changed. The service at reception was very disappointing. The new automatic check-in wasn't user-friendly, and the staff was not very helpful. It is such a shame because the hotel is very good indeed. One of my favourites in Seoul. I will return but I hope things will have improved.
The staff was super helpful. The room was clean and very spacious. Everything was very comfortable, and we enjoyed our time here!
The only issue we had was that the room was very warm and it took hours for the air conditioning to cool it down.
the location was good. Buses go directly from the airport to nearby locations. There are many restaurants and markets nearby.
i received a free upgrade due to the other room being sold out. The location was amazing lots of eateries and fun stuff to do
the hotel is not new a but outdated
I like the location of the hotel as it is located between subway line 9 Sport Complex stop and line 2 Jamsil saenae stop. Airport bus 6006 goes direct to both Sport Complex and Jamsil saenae stops making it's very convenience to travel to and from the airport to the hotel. Location is buzzing with shops. The room is spacious, very comfortable.
No bidet for the toilet :( They are trying to go for unmanned reception desk but it was a bit challenging to deal with the staff through the CCTV for check in/out because the staff mostly just talked in Korean. I also called front desk to request for iron but the staff asked me to send the request through e-mail instead is a bit ridiculous to me.
We loved everything about this hotel. Hotel Pharos exceeded our expectations. it is like a 5 star hotel that is very suitable for the budget and the price is not that high. The surroundings are very clean and there is no visible dust. All the staff are also kind. Also, the online assistant always replies to my questions online. The comfort room was very clean and the ambiance was very fragrant and cozy, very clean indeed! We will come back here again because it is also close to restaurants and the metro. Our sleeping place was very comfortable because of Hotel Pharos. We will definitely come back, Thank you!
Clean, big room and bathroom, safe and good location.
There was good restaurants and shops in the area. The room was very spacious.
No staff available in person for our whole stay (7 days). While checking in a random guy came with the keys, didn’t say a single word, took the elevator and left. One of the reasons why we chose a deluxe room was because of the jacuzzi, but it wasn’t working. The room was very dusty and there was a lot of stains everywhere: walls, bathroom floor, carpet, armchair. It was one of the weirdest experiences I’ve had in a hotel.
Good location near subway stations. Travel into the touristy area is about 50 minutes.Rooms were very spacious and clean. Staff were helpful and particular compliments to Clara who was very welcoming and chatty each day and helped us with planning and bookings.
Restaurants weren't open and therefore no breakfast options were available.
