Pros +
- So clean and calm and so close to the bus station, worth its value of money, surrounded by grocery store (nice to CU) and Paris baguette bakery Where u can have breakfast, before heading to where u wanna go
- Nice to have water and coffee available. Very helpful front staff (via Google translator)... when available.
- Staff were welcoming, offered complimentary drinks.Comfortable bed.Quiet area
Cons -
- The room is bit tiny and the pillows a lil harsh, and when it comes to relocating urself around Seoul, u always have to spend around 40min or more to get where u want (based on ur destination) but its all good once u get used to it, since the bus station is so close to the hotel
- Room was a little cramped. Location is a fairly long train ride from Seoul sights. Cost was a little high for the location (some of that was probably weekend related).
- Room a little on a small side

- The owner was friendly!- The hotel gives you unlimited free water!- The bed was big and soft!
1 - I got a room on the first floor, so I was woken up by strangers that were standing at my window. They could easily see into the room. It was so scary and annoying. 100% Total invasion of privacy.2 - Not the best location. For example, if you want to go clubbing in Hongdae, you will have to take the train for at least 1 hour.
I had a wonderful stay at the Hyuzen hotel. The staff made such an effort to explain all the features of the room and take care of me and I really felt at home! Water bottles in the lobby to take at your convenience, a very comfortable bed, great shower with good water pressure and a simply unbeatable location right near line 1 of the metro made this an incredible stay for me. I can’t thank the staff enough.
The owner is super nice, made a lot of effort to be helpful and explain everything the hotel and room had, despite me speaking no Korean, accommodated my non-ideal check in time and was super relaxed and flexible with check out.
We had a wonderful time staying here! The owner was incredibly accommodating, even waiting for us late at night and being super helpful throughout our stay. The place was clean and quiet, with thoughtful amenities like free water, coffee, and Netflix. The subway station was just a 5-minute walk away, making it very convenient to explore the city. We truly enjoyed our stay!

Toilet was leaking from the handle. Bathroom and shower were dirty. Weird stain on the bed. wires pulled out of the wall, grime on every surface
The shower had good water pressure.
The room was dirty and smelled like cigarette smoke. The bathroom smelled like sewage. The room did not have slippers, toiletries, or enough towels. Overall, it was unpleasantly dirty.
The nearest station is 5 to 10 minute walk and can get you to Seoul station in 20 minutes approx. The hotel is in a very calm city, it’s very relaxing to have few to none traffics or noise at night comparing to the lively Seoul. You have a convenience store on the opposite street, open 24/7.The hotel room itself was very well equipped, I liked the setup and everything, the bed was comfortable. You had free water bottle, chopsticks and small others furniture available at the hotel entrance. The owner was very kind to us, speaking little English but very understandable, available and helpful, it felt like a small home for the 6 night we stayed.Overall a very pleasant stay well worth the price.
The room is a bit humid when taking very hot shower, so you have to open the windows or turn the ac on.The cleaning could be a bit better as I found two dead mosquitoes under some furnitures but it cannot be helped I think. You have to wait a bit for the shower to warm up, but it’s not that I didn’t like it but it’s like this everywhere I have been in Korea.
Very friendly staff. Charger right next to bed. Easy check-in and out.
The guy was super friendly and eager to help. Free bottles of water, didn't charge for laundry. Comfy bed, nice bathroom, AC, nice set up.
We booked for 2 nights and ended up staying 5! We loved the quiet room, comfy bed and black out window - We were able to catch up on some much needed sleep. We have never managed such long/ restful sleeps in a hotel before! The location was great - less than 5 mins from the a metro stop, with very frequent trains. There are coffee shops, yum restaurants and little supermarkets very close by. We went for a run along the river which was so nice and so close - maybe 500 metres or so away. We loved coming back to this less built up and less touristy suburb at the end of each day. The owner is super friendly and puts a smile on your face, great place would return.
This hotel does quite a few things right such as being easy to find (there's a huge cute bear logo that can be spotted from miles away). It's also not hugely far from the metro station. The room came with a TV and mini fridge. There's a kettle to make your instant noodles, as it's unlikely you'll actually want a hot drink. The room looked and felt very clean, and the linen looked nice and white. The pillows felt plush compared to a lot of place I've stayed at.
The reception guy speaks no English - he did use Google Translate, but it's perhaps better to have staff who speak English (doesn't have to be fluent).Although my room was clean, it smelt of ammonia and sweat at the same time. The smell was quite off-putting - I thought I'd get used to it after maybe 10-15 mins, but I could still smell it in the morning. This is a huge dealbreaker for me because I get nausea easily from strong smells. Maybe the staff use ammonia or too much bleach for cleaning; but either way, I felt uncomfortable the whole time because of that.Although the hotel is within reasonable walking distance from the metro station, it's not exactly in an exciting part of town. There are no decent looking places to eat: you really have to leave the area to find places that aren't rough around the edges. I only trusted the convenient stores (instant noodles) for a quick snack. Also, even though we're supplied with a kettle, it's impossible to fill up the kettle from the sink because the spout is so short >_<I had to fill up the kettle with the shower head instead - this is hardly ideal in a hotel that's not exactly cheap. Also not great is that there's a karaoke bar not too far from the hotel, and you can definitely hear the locals 'enjoying' a good screech down the mic at night. Fortunately I can sleep through the horrors of those vocal wannabes, but some people might be put off by it.
The hotel owner is one of the kindest people you’ll ever meet, always attentive and eager to help. The location is fantastic, just a short walk from two subway stations, several restaurants, and a convenience store less than two minutes away. I was especially impressed with the cleanliness of my room. I would absolutely stay here again!
The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The host was amazing! Highly recommend this place!
AMAZING AND EXTREMELY KIND HOST WITH HEART OF GOLD! We had some issues after arriving in Korea, host helped us a lot! Host is extremely kind, helpful and considerate. I use booking for at least 10-12 years and never met such helpful and friendly host and such warm welcome-it was amazing!Rooms were clean and well equipped. Location is very good (although it may look far on the map, it's only 1 change in the subway from airport line to line 1, which is far better than changing to other lines numerous times). Very good place, well equipped room. Hotel and it's surroundings are in quiet part of the city-inhabited mainly by locals (no crowds of tourists). After a trip to Japan, we landed in Korea only for 2 days, and were totally bought by country and locals (mainly due to Hosts friendliness and willingness to help). WILL COME BACK AGAIN!
Clean, small, and close to metro, food, supermarket and Korean traditional market.
More conveniently located outlets for charging devices. WiFi password info was not accurate for my room. Add WiFi access info in English and other languages. Hotel old name comes up in google maps, Grim Hotel. ?
