Hotel Gangnam Star

The location was very convenient to the subway. There was no room service and the staff was very unfriendly.

The refrigerator did not have a frozen section.

The customer service was exceptional!!Very friendly, polite and helpful!!The room was spacious as well as the bathroom!!Loved our stay there!!Super great price to top it all off!!Highly recommend this hotel!! ???

The sink didn’t drain as well as I would’ve liked, and the bathroom was a bit dim.

the beds were really hard! If you're claustrophobic, this is not the place for you as there was a tiny window to the alley. No view but for the money and location its good for extended stays and rarely in the room

This stay gave me back pain. I regret booking this hotel for my business stay.

The bad was as hard as wood.There was nothing soft to rest on in this room.The staff was extremely unhelpful, including not accepting to give me an extra pillow.Bathtub felt and looked dirty, was not comfortable showering barefoot.

No Breakfast provided....big mixup with the reservation - i was double booked as my credit card didnt seem to go thru but it did - go no confirmation tho and then they refused to honor my request to cancel a room even tho booking asked them to do that - it was unpleasant and i spent 3 hours on the phone in a strange place late at night trying to sort it all out - called booking but no answer - then said number was restricted - i thought genius had some kind of priority help - none on that rainy dark night so it all seemed hopeless and up to this point i have no clue as to where i am at - the desk clerk said i was only paying for one room but then i got an e mail that they would not honor booking's request and i had to pay for 2 rooms- ridiculous! going to send booking the raft of e mails etc and see what happens - also trying to contact booking as i had a triple booking at the beginning of my trip - Sept 12 looks like credit card not going thru but it does and so makes a super mess. there i was overcharged for the Incheon guesthouse airport charged 3 times $125 and it didn't eveen have any wifi as wwas advertised. The staff was kind and helpful with our luggage - not their fault!

Their repsonse - they kept telling me to hit a cancel button - i didn't have on on my phone booking page- they were not helpful justs accusing not fun - last night - ruined my stay!

The mattresses were really hard.

The hotel was so near from the subway station. Not to mention the nearest subway exit is with escalator and elevator. Perfect. There were few cafes nearby and convenience store is just a block away. We had a stroll from the hotel to the next subway station on one Sunday morning. It was so quiet and peaceful walk. Staff were nice and all of them can speak a decent English which make it easier for us to communicate during check-in and check-out time. Room was quite spacious for 3 of us with 24' luggage each. The best part, we were able to store our luggage prior to check-in time or after we check-out. Too bad we only stay for one night. So we couldn't venture the area to the fullest. Maybe next time.

Not really a problem with me. But just to let you guys know that the free Wifi is only available in the lobby.

The beds are very hard. Mattresses have been collapsed to the thinnest. Almost no compliance. The room lacks natural lighting. Ventilation is not good. Food smells from outside come into the room and stay.

Extremely close to the train station exit 3. Airport bus is accessible, about a 5 minute walk (plus crossing the road to the opposite side)

Has only 1 elevator — during peak hours, it takes a long time to get up or down.

Super clean and spacious room, very close to the Yeoksam station. The bed was like a rock, no give in the mattress at all - which is perfect for me, but appreciate it won’t be for many people. No sounds from other rooms.

The hotel provided only one pillow per guest, which was extremely soft and none of us could sleep well on it. We requested additional or alternative pillows and the hotel said they didn’t have any (which we found really strange - we’ve travelled a lot and never encountered a hotel that couldn’t offer additional or alternative pillows). I queried a second time in case we were mistaken, but we were told the same thing and they provided me with some towels to use as a pillow instead. This was the only real let-down for this accommodation and I hope it’s something they can resolve as I would love to book again if returning to the area.

Right next to the metro station, had markets and coffee shops walking distance, staff was very kind and helpful, the price was very reasonable, overall our stay was very pleasant

Even though they cleaned our rooms everyday but it wasnt as clean, and also the bathroom exhaust wasnt working, and no glass windows

Wash basin drain pipe leaking. Unusual to see Bath tub drain water flow into common drain line. Gets flooded onto floor if flow is too much.

Very easy to reach from the subway station on Line 9, which also has the express trains!

I personally loved the spacious room! You rarely get to see a room as spacious as this in Seoul. Surpisingly, the bed was firm and the pillows were so soft and comfortable that we had a good rest every night. I love also the provided toiletries & tissues - they all smell sooo good! The staff were all warm and helpful too even the cleaning staff. Superb service. The property also was located near subway and train station just a few mins of walk.

The facilities were quite old but not much of an issue since it’s normal wear and tear as long as no leaks/foul scent. Also, I was a bit disappointed their cafe was closed - was looking forward to their lobby cafe. Location also is Gangnam area - a bit far if you plan to visit Seoul center (Namsan/Palaces/Myeongdong) around 45-50 mins on a bus ride. The subway and bus stations were just close by so it wasn’t issue to us.

The staff on reception were fantastic 10/10. They were very helpful when my son locked himself out of his room and great instructions for getting to the airport

Hotel with very minimal amenities. The room was Ok, as soon as we entered there was a very strong musky odour emanating from the bathroom, that we had to spray every time to mask the smell. They only provided 3 bottled water and 3 pillows for 4 people. When we requested for extra pillows due to my husband's sleeping problem, they refused and gave us towels instead! We had to request to change the sheets since they don't automatically do it even though our stay was 2 weeks. There is no ambient light in the room too since they painted the windows so no natural light.
