Nouvelle Seoul Hotel Itaewon by Anook

The manager went out of his way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The building is new so the rooms are clean and modern.

The pictures on the website are very misleading, the room was small, no closets. Every time we took a shower, the bathroom flooded. Some receptionists did not speak English.

The staff are very responsive and attentive.

I which there was a floor barrier in the shower would keep the water from going out onto the bathroom floor. It?s a design I truly do not understand.

Literally just the location

Staff weren’t accommodating or friendly, rooms were not equipped for more than one person. This was more like a hostel room than anything else. Towels were worn out and room didn’t have a pleasant smell.

The location was close to subway access and nightlife.

It was noisy because of the of the surrounding area.

Good location near lots of bars and restaurants in Itaewon. Easy walk to the metro. Provided nice Korean face masks and daily water.

Difficult to control floor heating and air conditioning. Floor heating on full blast on the 5th floor in early April when it really wasn’t needed. Staff was helpful with turning it off. Suite did not have much space for 4 people, especially no space to lay out luggage or to store items. “Party area” not really usable due to this.

i didn’t like the cleanliness of the apartment, i told the guy (non krean) on the reception about a bad smell and he just told me okay, without any feedback, i didn’t like this.

Was in a great location for accessibility and didn’t hear too much street noise

The walls were thin and you could hear people in the room next door which is not great considering the drinking location. Rooms weren’t greatly cleaned, hair in bathrooms etc. hard to figure out the underfloor and a/c

Hotel staff very friendly and very accommodating.

The only issues was the hotel is on a hill. and the next door room people were a little loud.

Property was located good and easy to get to from subway

It was very noisy and you can hear others in the rooms making noise and talking , not the properties fault but there’s a lot of construction going on beside and was hard to relax .

The location is great and in a good value.Have mostly what you need.

Staff forgot to clean our room when we asked, we always got only 1 towel even tho we were 2 people in room.When finally we did get the room cleaning service, they took our extra towel that we requested back, so we always stayed with 1 towel.The room is small for 2 people.When showering, the whole floor is flooded with water, so the floor towel will alaays be soging with water and there is no use for that actually.

It is beautiful on the inside. Staff are great

The room was dirty. Then change room and dirty again. The area is a little ghetto .

Next to some night clubs and bars, it was quite loud at night. And also next to a construction site, which they started working early in the morning.

TV. Smell. Proximity to noise.

The surrounding neighborhood is not nice. it was questionable with transgender prostitution and weird activities going on.

The bathroom seems newly renovated.Like the color contrasts in the room. Much better then before. Location is good, in short walking distance to all the bars and clubs in itaewon.Staff was very friendly. Rooftop has great potential if it gets properly sortet out.

Walls are not soundproofed at all. Except from maybe top rooms.The hotel is located on a steep hill so walking up could be tiring to some.Some kind of stains on the bedsheets, don't even need to know.

From the minute the cab pulled up I felt like I’d gone back in time. Oh, it’s completely modern, with individual ac and good showers alright. But it seems like something out of a movie, an eccentric independent comedy when life was good and there was a kind of innocent charm despite the cool modernist vibe. The two desk managers spoke fluent English and were both effective and charming in dealing with my several offbeat issues. The place was full of couples who seemed to be there for a day or two (Not hours!) to have a fun few days, most of them Asian and the odd Westerner who seemed much less fun than the former. I felt right at home with the large Turkish population (great food) and occasional girl gang, right at home with working class surroundings, and Itaewon is full of local service workers. There’s smoking and drinking on a few corners, lots of lovely pig restaurants, pet dogs from Pomeranians to Great Pyrenees, I even saw a laid back Border Collie. I like busses over subways and lots were nearby. Fast food joints, tourist junk shops, Trans bars and a tailor and coffee houses. KFC, McDonald’s, Subway. A convenience store on every corner. There’s even a grocer a few blocks away where you will see… fruit!

I can’t say I hated it because I lived in an apartment next to an elevated subway line in NY as a kid — there was the dread “construction” going on across from my room and a bit of pounding going on. The view was straight out of a noir story, I actually had the sign with just the world “Hotel” on the right side of my window, a couple of empty buildings across the street, a nightclub with a name that somehow referred to the Wild West, a pizza place and the entrance to the garage. The annoyingly ubiquitous Olive Young was a block away. . If you go places to be in the present and take what comes as an adventure, you’re probably going to like this place. If you want everything on your itinerary to happen like right now, and need a palace around the corner, maybe not?

The rooms are OK, and the bathrooms are clean. The staff are friendly.

The hotel is in a rather unsavory neighborhood, making you want to avoid staying around and head straight to your room. The area is filled with clubs that attract a lot of intoxicated people and quite a few sex workers operating nearby, which adds to the discomfort. The streets are dirty and generally unpleasant.Overall, while the rooms and bathrooms are decent, the hotel's common areas and location are major drawbacks. I would not recommend staying here unless you have no other options.

The room was very dirty.. the sofa got stains on it and I got UTI after stayed one night

Location can't be beat in heart of Itaewon (yet... it's still quiet in the room!). Great value. New hotel so facilities seemed modern. It was a small room but exactly what I was expecting.

Room was a little hot (in the winter) and I couldn't seem to get the temperature to go down short of opening the window.

The location was good and the bed was big and comfortable. The staff was really accommodating when I asked if my room could be switched. They also helped arrange a taxi for me and allowed me to borrow a power converter.

It was a party hotel. I had to change my room because my first neighbors were having sex and it was loud and then my next neighbors partied all night long until late in the morning. It was just constantly noisy. If that's your vibe, then that's ok but it's not what I was looking for.
