Insadong Crown Hotel

Location and staff

Size of room, but understandable. Could use larger lobby.

Staff are nice and most can speak some English. Lots of local food choices around. Insadong Main Street is in close proximity.

The hotel is very old. No shampoo and A/C was not working. It's located in the middle of 2 metro stations (and airport bus stops) and walking distance to each is equally far (especially when you are lugging your suitcases). Definitely not a 3* hotel!

Location, location, location. That's pretty much the main take away here. The property is average to below average depending on your standards, however it's close to so much. Good for simply a place to put your head, but won't add to the experience.

Room was meant to be non smoking but had a strong smell of smoke and matches inside. Not quite sure what the deal was with this. Think I saw a cock roach one night crawling up my bed. Room on second floor didn't have a good view to say the least.

Maintained the room clean and size of the room is big enough for three of us.

Smells a little musty in the bathroom when the fan is off

Location was great. We were able to walk to most of the temples and shopping areas including the night market.’ The lady at the front desk (Mon-Wed) was so nice and very helpful.

The air conditioner in the room was not working. There was a large oscillating fan but it only moved the warm air around. After the first night we to the front desk. They said they would look at the a/c, and although they the had no vacancies, they would move us to a smaller room. We were asked to return at 2pm (not convenient when touring) to see if it was fixed or to pack and move to the smaller room in time for them to turn over our room for other guests.The room seemed cooler (we were told they cleaned a filter) and because the alternate room was much smaller, .we decided to stay. The next day the a/c got worse and by Thursday night it felt like it was no longer working.

I enjoyed the daily free water bottle service when they come to change towels and empty the trash.

The staff was friendly and had no trouble with the stay but the facility is very old and several things didn’t work or were missing entirely from our room. That is no AC control so we had to leave the window open all night in a part of town that pretty noisy.

There was less cigarette smells in the room, unlike other hotels we’ve stayed in.

No public transportation in the vicinity. Had to walk about 20 minutes to find public transportation. No complimentary parking.

Near ikseongdong and the palace

No make up service, front staff were not willing to help with anything - cannot help get a cab despite us having pieces of luggage, did not know directions to where we were going, told us to get directions from the locals on the street.

Location is about a 10 minute walk from the nearest train station. Plenty of shopping and restaurants around.

AC did not work and the design of the bathroom is not ideal for two people. Constantly having to shuffle around each other to fit.

Rooms were clean and the staff was nice during check in and check out.

When we came in it was really hot in the room and we had to keep the window open the whole time.

Great location, right in the middle of the old city, both palaces and bukchon were in good walking distance. Lots of great places and great night food market closeby.

Room cleanlyliness was ok, but not exceptional.If you leave on a sunday you can only use baggage storage until 1pm which is very inconvenient. I was told that I can use the luggage lockers that almost each subway station provides, but found that these are occupied most of the time so it can be really hard to find a free locker (make sure you find a ftee locker first, then reserve it before you have to drag your luggage all over town).

Location was great for us and we enjoyed Insadong, Seoul.

Need to improve their carpet and air conditioner.
