- The only good thing is the location.
- the location was perfect and Mr. Kim the manager was really nice to me
- The location was great and it was very affordable. AC was nice and strong!
Cons -
- The photos they show are not real. The guy who takes care of everything in the place is an impertinent. He has no manners and does not know how to converse, he only argues about everything. Annoying to explain the same thing 5 times a day knocking on your door. The breakfast is fake, there is no breakfast they leave only a bag of bread with hot water, that’s all they offer. The rooms are very cold and the duces do not always have hot water.
- it is what you pay for, maybe not a 5 stars hotel but if you’re in a budget is really nice, has kinda everything you need and you’ve got your own room and peace
- The lobby in the pictures doesn’t exist. It’s a small hotel with public access. The beds are extremely uncomfortable. There’s no shower, but only a hand held shower head in the bathroom you can use to shower in the same room with the toilet and sink.

My stay at Rainbow Hotel Myeongdong was amazing! I came on a family vacation from Texas, and everything about this hotel was just right. The location is perfect (it's right in the middle of Myeongdong) and super close to public transportation, so it was really easy for us to get around and explore Seoul. There are tons of shops and restaurants nearby too, which was super convenient. The hotel itself was clean, cozy, and comfortable. We didn’t have any problems at all during our stay. They also provide a small breakfast (which was simple but totally fine) Mr. Kim was especially kind and helpful (he really went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed). His friendly attitude made us feel so welcome and added something special to the trip.Overall, we had a great experience here. The hotel is in a great spot, it’s affordable, and the staff are really nice. I would totally recommend this place to anyone visiting Korea (especially first-timers). We’d definitely stay here again! And thank you Mr. Kim for making our trip amazing!
Never again no service, not cleaning the room, not good breakfast only 2 slice of breas and sachet coffee.
No elevator to 4th floor, very small room, no services provided.
The hotel is beside a convenience store and the location is walking distance to mrt and myeong dong shopping district and Namsan Tower .
The Manager is strict , there are many rules and you have to pay a penalty if you broke a rule , there is no baggage storage, no elevator lift for people (Only small elevator lift for baggage, but you still need to climb stairs) and there is no lobby, so if your flight is late in the afternoon or evening, you need to bring your luggage wherever you want to visit a place when you check out at 10AM (They are strict on the check out time or you will pay for every extra time you stay) or you have to book your stay for another day just for the luggage when you still want to visit other place and while waiting for your flight. Only Towel was provided in the bathroom.
Amended: The owner left a comment saying I didn't check in. See the photo taken on March 16, 2025. He lied. This business should never be advertised as a hotel. I don't understand how this property was certified as a hotel by the government. I will also be raising the issue with the Seoul Metropolitan Government, which is responsible for managing this property. It's hard for Booking.com, which can only review properties based on photos, but I strongly urge you to remove this property's advertisement from the site. Please also refer to the Google reviews for this property.
This is the worst accommodation you can imagine. It is dirty, smelly, and has no hot water. Never believe the advertisements of this establishment. Do not be fooled by the huge discounts. This is a place where you should not be charged.
About the only good thing about this hostel was the location.
The room smelled so had to leave the window open 24 hours a day. It said there was an elevator which there isn’t. We stayed just over 3 weeks and only got our bed linen changed once. Could only use one towel a day. Because I complained about the property to booking he was not a pleasant person to deal with after that. Also takes your credit card number in case he wants to charge you for something extra. Said we left ink stains on the bed because we sat on it wearing jeans. My daughter never wore her jeans when we got back and I had jeggings.
Its a hostellll!!!! The hostel was very shabby everything is so far from the pics. Tiny towels, no daily sheets replacement, no exhaust fan and the owner/staff always enter the room to open the windows and i wonder why?!
Everything! The worst hotel! Pure scam ?
nothing is suitable
it seems not like the description of booking. no lift for people, and it was cool at night. no recommen的
great location, about 300 metres from the nearest train station which is chungmuro station (line 3 & 4). mr kim, (the owner) was so kind and helpful to us. the room has a private bathroom, heated bed and tv. the space was kinda tight for two people but in terms of money, it’s worth the cost! all in all, we enjoyed our stay there.
Amazing location, easy to find and the manager was very welcoming and kind.
It was a place to shower and sleep. The AC worked and the room was comfortable. It fit my needs. but a ten would maybe give teh wrong impression 8 seems fair.
its fair to not be able to eat in room but a dining area would make that much easier.
One of my worst experience as I was taken to a totally different facility that is a run down motel. To my surprise a part of the old building was being pulled down. I literally ran away without anyone even coming to ask how are you or this construction work is going to happen. Don’t trust what you see and Booking.com should ensure they know who they put up online. It’s a fraud.
Everything.
Poor
Too small room. It was a hostel in an old building that is hard to call a hotel. Without elevator. Difficulty going up. Breakfast is one boiled egg two bread.
Very good location.
Breakfast was poor, Im not eating eggs, so there was not other option, I was paying for breakfast which I couldn’t have, they could at least give like Nutella with toast or one more option which would not cost a lot. The rules was very strictly, we couldn’t feel like we are on vacation. Hard to understand where we can be with our shoes where only with slippers. Very small room, next time we booked hotel it was cheaper 3 times with twice space. Staff was kinda talking English kinda Korean, like half words I could understand. Also after arriving we had to write on paper that if we break one of the 5 rules of this hotel we will pay over 250€, and the rules like we can’t eat or drink in the room, we won’t get dirty towels and sheets and so on, so we were very scared for using it at all. NOT RECOMMENDING .
excellent location. easy to find. clean and tidy
Great location. Easily able to walk to most places. Subway also nearby.
No wardrobe or table/dresser to put clothes/suitcase. Had to keep on floor. Definitely room for these items
Great location for value. I got lucky with a room at first floor with a window, big enough for solo traveler.
Like any other reviews you may find and read mostly true but for money location wise it’s good enough. Altho i booked with discount very cheap, wouldn’t pay for full price here. You can get much better (real) hotels in other areas for same price. Public transportation is so good in Seoul anyway.
The location was good. Very close to touristic areas.
Was scolded for not taking off my shoes when checking in, as if I should have known that I can’t wear shoes at a check in window. The manager allowed me to borrow an adapter for 10,000. He said he’d give it back upon return of the adapter. I returned the adapter but never got this. The mattress in the bed was quite hard.
