Renaissance Shanghai Yu Garden Hotel

The location is great! You're within walking distance of the Bund, Old town is right around the corner, and a few other great places are walkable too.

Great location at a great price.

Lobby is somewhat too small.

Staff was incredibly pleasant/kind.

Ground floor staff were friendly and helpful. Near to subway Yu Yuan exit 3B but no lift or escalator to street level. The lift / escalator is under construction. Room view oversees The Bund and Oriental Pearl TV Tower.

We stayed at last level, dim light along hallway. Suggestion: add more lights please

The location is great, close to Yu Garden, close to the subway, also going to the Bund isn't far. The rooms are a bit dated, it's clean though and the staff is friendly overall. The bathroom was nice and clean as well. Beds are very comfy. The gym is simple but useable but the pool looked very dated. Breakfast buffet is fine, nothing special, good amount of choice to pick what you like. Lot's of healthy foods as well.

Unfortunately there has been a few issues. I paid extra for a nicer room upstairs but the room is a bit disappointing, definitely for this price. Also the view was terrible, one giant construction site that also gave a lot of noise in the morning, we had to sleep with earplugs. Also the hotel fan in the ceiling was making constant noise that couldn't be turned off. After the mechanic came, it got turned off manually. The last day the power in the room got cut off due to electric socket failure. But it was the morning we had to check out, so no time to get it fixed, we left with wet hair.

The big beds, the comfort, the cleanliness.

* Location is superb - just across the road from Line 10 exit 3B. Convenience shop is across another road. Short walk about 5 mins to Yu Garden and nearby shopping street. There is Shake Shack and coffee stores at Yu Garden. One MRT stop to Nanjing Road shopping street and The Bund. Recommend to visit Yu Garden and The Bund both daytime and at night for different sceneries* Took MRT for both trips between Pudong airport and hotel* English speaking front desk. Helpful and friendly front desk and housekeeping staff* Booked Superior Family Room - 2 big beds suitable for 4 adults. Could see Shanghai Tower and Oriental Pearl TV tower from our room. The beds and pillows are comfy. Large bathroom with shower stand and bathtub. Our room has universal power outlets and USB charging points. Did not need to use electrical adapters

potential for improvement - refurbish the rooms to more modern look. otherwise, room was clean and well-equipped (hair dryer, kettle, fridge and safe, 2 armchairs, desk and chair)

Great location, only 15 min walk to the Bund. Delicious breakfast and very kind staff!

The location was good

The Club floor expected to be bigger, more comfortable and having better view, was really disappointed by all mentioned. Price-expectations ratio is not acceptable. Lower class but newer Chinese hotels are a way better.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Location is outstanding. Breakfast buffet is great value.

Good location right next to train station and old town. Large and clean room and bathroom. Club Lounge breakfast on level 17 was great and quiet compared to downstairs buffet. All staff spoke English well.

The gym is a little outdated and needs better air conditioning.

It's close to the centre and right next to the metro line 10. The staffs are super nice and professional. The facility is well maintained.

The only thing can be improved is that AC is quite loud to keep it work properly under 40 degrees weather. Otherwise no other issues.

The hotel is in a very good location. Room is nice and clean. Staffs are are helpful.

I was expecting more options in the breakfast. It should offer more international options.

Location is perfect. yugarden is 5 misn walk. Metro station is across teh road. The bund is about 10 minutes away. teh staff are great. very helpful and always accomodating. Language might be an isuse sometimes but uts everywhere in china. definitely will stay again.

There were not much Halal options

Room was clean. I was supposed to have a Club room, but I really dont know if they have given me a club room or not. It was not clarified what are the features of a club room. The location is very good.

Very nice facility with comfortable rooms, friendly staff, and great location for seeing Old Town and a subway station right across the street.

We have stayed on the Executive Floor of this hotel several times. We really like the breakfast.

We are vegetarians so would prefer more options for the dinner meal.

The bathroom Glass windows instead of walls blinds covering not very helpful Showering can be uncomfortable if you’re sharing the room as the blinds don’t cover really good

It was fantastic and completely worth it staying at this reputable hotel like renaissance

Breakfast was not included in room charge. They have separate restaurant for breakfast.
